@Dr. Noose I have a Linebacker that I call "Redshirt" (literally it wears a little red vest), and it has 6x SRM6 (seven tons ammo) and a single small pulse laser. Because the Linebacker has heat issues for its size, you can't alpha all six at once or you'll always be shutting down, so I have three SRM6 on one side chain firing with one button, and the other three SRM6 on the other side chain firing to another button (meaning I can half-expose and not waste ammo). mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab#i=673&l=008079b277a40d9368b9b3c9e7b9dad0bd025366

even with this era of long range poking, this build still kicks butt, even a teir 5 like me in a teir one match (thanks to my unit) and I still help lead pushes in this thing, it deletes whole mechs

This is exactly what I believe an assault mech should do: act as the tank for your team's lighter mechs. Placing the vast majority, if not all, of your armor in the front seems to help alot in this kind of situation.

+R4V3-0N To be honest if PGI didn't fuck up the hitboxes it would be... they were designed to act as vanguard assault mechs that punch a hole in the enemy defences. It's only because PGI made it way to easy to hit the locations on mechs that they don't work as they should lol.

Yeah true that, the amount that IS mechs can be changed in this game is not anything like it should be. Only Omnimechs should be able to change their weapon loadouts at all from stock. And they shouldn't have hardpoints at all just a set tonnage to fill with weapons / jump jets and heat sinks.... but you know PGI likes the customization thing and most players do too I guess.

Ishla Corrin As well as the fact that's how us Computer gamers are grown to love mechwarrior and mechassault. When you look at it from one stand point- having fixed customization does cut away a lot from the game. Most reviewers and new players are attracted to the idea that you can virtually have unlimited combinations.

I used a standard AS7-S on this build. Dropped the head ammo and got far more armor into it. Im 57mph to Beef’s 60 but she is super survivable

The problem I see with the enemy team's logic is that shooting the right torso of the atlas makes it weaker. Yes, but the 50+ damage with the 4 SRM 6's is already in range by then.

+Happy Farmer hate to tell you but unless you run server spec hardware you cant get a steady 60 in mwo. i have an i7 4790k 16gb ram and a gtx 970 and it just doesnt run well

+Kaozer There is something seriously wrong with your rig setup if you are not getting a constant 60 fps with those specs... I have less specs on my PC and get 60 no probs for around 80% of matches... sometimes with 200 - 300+ LRMs on screen I get a bit of a drop but not often.
