Back when the game was new, Bloodhunt Arbalest was the secret weapon in PvP against Blight spammers. As long as you kept shooting ANYTHING, you could keep your health chugging along to fight off the DoT (And the healing effect stacks, just like poison). People were ignoring Crossbows at the time so they didnt know it had the heal on hit effect (wiki wasnt written yet), so I got people accusing me of cheating cause my health kept regening automatically. Fun times.

The MMM is SUCH a gamechanger! I didn't know this until now and used to get very annoyed when a mage kept fleeing as I was stuck dealing with minions. Just the knowledge that I'm still chipping away at the target makes it so much less frustrating!

A shame you didn’t go after the Nameless Mages, as their tokens open up some very neat tools. The one most relevant to this run is Iron From Blood, a tool that exchanges a percentage of your health for ammo. Where this is especially helpful is in the Boss Rush Arena, as the “Heal on Kill” ring *fully heals you* if you finish off a Mage. Once you knock a mage down, you can turn all your health into ammo, then finish them off to full heal. It’s incredibly helpful.

my theory for "why they dont change phases" is probably cos the "transformation validation" is "on getting hit" not on "decrease HP" and as you're not hitting the boss it never trigger the change

The Sapblood Heart is triggered from poise damage. I've run into that using daggers. The others are likely what you said, hits.

My assumption is, since there is no damage flash from poison (thankfully), poison isn't technically dealing damage. I believe they did some sort of "negative life regen" like how it works in Terraria. Since the boss isn't actually taking damage, like you said, the phases don't trigger.

speaking for myself, that's exactly what I don't like about it. I don't want a 2D Monster Hunter, I already don't like Monster Hunter in 3D. I wanted a sequel to Salt and Sanctuary, but Sacrifice feels like a totally different genre of game. It's not that the game is "bad" per-se, Monster Hunter isn't "bad" just because I don't like it, but it shouldn't be surprising that when you basically hop genres in the way the game is structured it might put a lot of people off. It's especially bad because the significance of the change wasn't made clear in marketing, so when I (and, I imagine others) bought the game on day 1, it left a very bad taste in my mouth.

Here is a fun suggestion, crossbows only for Fable, the 1st game. The game is pretty easy on a normal playthrough but a crossbow only run would be pretty fun. Also the achievement related to the crossbow is required... because big funny meme.

From what i remember it's mostly because of the gameplay changes, instead of being a metroidvania with one and done bosses like the first game sacrifice is split into multiple levels and the gameplay loop is repeatedly killing bosses to grind materials like a monster hunter game, iirc they also completely axed a couple mechanics and weapon types like the firearms

Working on a Stardew Valley no energy run to beat the community center. If for some god forsaken reason you want to do that, here's some tips. Cherry bombs can be acquired from the traveling cart or supply crates from the beach farm. Mega bombs can destroy a tree and stump in about 6 hits. Forage items get reset Saturday night, so you only need to collect them once a week. Finishing the beach bridge basically awards you an extra one to three thousand gold every week. Foraging the beach alone allows you to get three crab pots from a community bundle, which allows you to catch fish. Reach level 120 in the mines as fast as possible. Never sell any seaweed you find from trash, you need it for fish ponds. While it's not as straightforward as the joja path, I think you'd actually enjoy the weird strategies required to finish it.

So, I've been playing and enjoying Core Keeper recently, and I thought that I saw that it was part of your backlog. Even though I'm in the early stages of it, I believe that it would make for good content for you. Here's my ideas for your first two challenge runs of it: 1. Melee damage only 2. Explosives only (of course) In both cases, you will be restricted on what pets that you can use, as they each deal a certain type of damage (no idea if any pets use explosive damage), along with the normal weapon restrictions. Also, having enemies attack each other is not just fair game, but encouraged. I recommend doing the melee challenge first, as it takes a few upgrades before you can make your own bombs (and not have to rely on luck). I hope that you see this and think about doing this. Either way, happy gaming, and thanks for your videos.

So, just wanted to give some personal opinions on this game for any future videos that go into a deep dive. I haven't played since release and have it on tbe ps4, I remember feeling like the game was... Not great, but more specifically because the setup of taking a mission in an area was cheap compared to the more put together progression of the first game. Advancing to new areas was also awkward at best. I also took issue to some of the enemies, like the "blighted monstrosity" looking enemy you can find pretty early on. I was playing a melee build because... Why not(?), and due to the enemies attack speed and unlimited stamina, I judt had to avoid them. If I attacked, I would be attacked back. They kind of required ranged attacks to get by, at least at the time. Have these been changed in a meaningful way? Is the ps4 version up to date with the latest release? Would you recommend this game if it was... Not fun at release?

A let's talk about Salt and Sacrifice would be good. My main problem with Salt and Sacrifice is how obvious it is at times that mouse and keyboard was seemingly an afterthought. The less bad one is the game gives you no clue how to use runic arts on a mouse and keyboard (or I am blind which is also possible). The more annoying one is that trying to use ranged weapons in this game constantly sets me back to only being able to aim in six preset directions instead of using mouse to aim. Shortly after I get it to correctly aim using the mouse it will just randomly reset to only those preset directions making using ranged weapons incredibly difficult to use.

Pro tip for whenever you try the unarmed build in this game, the Earth guantlets are the highest damage, despite the Gnosis Gauntlets in the DLC weighing 16 pounds. I really like this game, and the unarmed run is fun other than that disappointment.
