Hi, not really overflow, I have had it come above the pot but it has a plastic cover between the blade and the motor part so you would in my opinion have to really over fill it to get it to a point it caused a problem.

Hello Chris, thank you for this video. Can you clarify the timing? The ice cream takes 30mins, but then a COOL sign appears and starts flashing. Are we supposed to wait until it stops before turning the machine off? Is the whole process 1 hour or 30 mins? The instructions are very unclear. I've stopped the machine after the 30 mins, but not sure if I was supposed to wait. Thank you again!

Hi, the time seems to vary on how long it takes before going to cool. Once it goes to cool I turn off the machine, put it in a tub and then into the freezer. I agree the instructions are unclear on this but the way I do it seems to work fine.

@@Kalbo64how do you know when it goes to cool? Is the machine suppose to stop running and then all the other icons shut off except the freeze icon? I’m also confused as the manual states to add warm water . I don’t understand this ? Should my ice cream ingredients be liquid or solid before putting into the bucket to stir and freeze? Or should I mix all the ingredients before adding to the bucket? I think it probably doesn’t matter but how soft or hard , and or how cold or warm should the ice cream mixture be before adding to the bucket to make ice cream with the Kumio ? Thanks so much for any guidance. Im having a hard time with this machine and manual . Ugh 😢

@@debbieklose8776 Hi, mix the ingredients before adding to the bucket. You should cool them before adding to the bucket in a fridge, this is better but not essential as the warmer they are the longer it will take to freeze them, just so long as they are not too warm. When the machine stops the ice cream will be frozen but still soft so should then be placed into a freezer. I agree the instructions are not the best and could do with updating. I have used this method for dozens of mixes now, and it works perfectly. I am still unsure on the purpose of the cool light and presume it is to keep it cool until you are able to remove the contents. Hope this helps.

@@Kalbo64 thank you so very much. I worked with the manual and ice cream maker about 3 hours last night and had tried to read the manual prior 2 other times. I felt annoyed and frustrated and my patience became zelch. 😁 I felt a bit foolish and left comments in my annoyance. My apologies. I think I see my mistakes and will give it another go . Your video does help. I was seeing so many videos on how to make ice cream in the last week I became a bit on overload. It’s really not as complicated as I made it. I think the manual set me off. Good lord 🙃 it definitely needs improvement. Thank you so much 😊 I’ll share when I’m able to make a great batch of ice cream 😎

Hi, the only real difference between them is the Kumio has the digital display. Apart from that in my opinion they are the same in process and result.

Does your ice cream ever come out slightly melted? Like 90% of my liquid turned into ice cream but the other was still not frozen 🥲 granted, I did use room temperature protein drink to create this so Im wondering if that is what it is?

Hi, it is very soft when it comes out but no liquid, and needs to go straight in the freezer. I found the same with my previous ice cream maker.

Hi, yes the churning starts immediately. You do have to ensure the arrow lines up when you insert the motor. Hope you get it sorted.

Hi, I used mango puree 20% - double cream 35% - Milk 30% - coconut milk 10% - coconut sugar 5% Sorry it isn't an exact recipe but I tend to make a mix up, taste, and adjust when needed.

Hi, the recipe they give is 320ml whole milk - 180g chocolate chopped - 536g low-fat yogurt - 66g sugar. I have made it twice switching out chocolate for fruit, it turned out well and my daughter's enjoyed it.

@@Kalbo64 Kathleen doesn't mean the recipe for FROZEN yogurt that comes with the machine, but rather the machine's setting for actually fermenting and cooling home-made yogurt. Was wondering about that function myself, actually...

Yogurt is basically the same as making ice cream. It does not make yogurt it freezes a yogurt liquid mix. It takes around 50 minutes.

@Kalbo64 great video just a question on this as I pressed the yoghurt function The 8hrs sign comes up but when you press the play/go.button it just starts to flash and after again pressing button it stabilises to show 8hrs again. It never starts the machine to start making yoghurt or go on for 8hrs. Are you saying the button for yoghurt is just a lie?

How do you add mix ins, like chocolate chips or Oreos? Do you add them when you add the other ingredients or do you add them in the middle? And if so, how? I don’t see a way to open the lid while the ice cream is mixing??

Hi, I tend to mix them in after it is complete. You can just open the lid and the machine will stop, and resume the process once you replace it.

Hi, probably sounds louder than it is as I had the camera up close. I would say it is about a loud as an air fryer, can't hear it going across the room.

Hi, I normally just go with 50/50 milk and cream - sugar - fruit - flavour - colouring. This is my base and I adjust it depending on what I am making, if I am using a sweet fruit pure I would use less sugar or more with a more acidic fruit. The Ube Ice Cream (Purple Yam Ice Cream) for instance I used 350ml coconut milk - 350ml double cream - 100g sugar - 300g sweetened purple yam - purple food colouring. Otherwise I would suggest googling as there are masses of recopies out there.

Hi, once it goes to cool I just open it up. I was also confused by the cool feature and came to the conclusion it worked in the same way as a rice cooker going to keep warm after the cooking was finished, but keeping it cold if you couldn't open it up straight away.

Hi, the bucket is a very tight fit so you have to use the handle pulling directly above with slow pressure. Be careful not to leave any water on the bucket when you replace it or it will freeze in place.

Hi, around 45 minutes average. The time varies depending on how chilled the ingredients are.
