Plays exactly the same notes as a $10k custom shop fender! An hour of file work and tuning and you have a great inexpensive guitar. I have these stashed all over my house, in every work truck and office. This with a $29 practice amp and for under $100 I have a setup to play wherever and whenever!

Haha, I had to laugh when you pulled it out and I saw that graphic. They used to do those out of catalogues in the UK when I was a kid, there was the skull one "for boys" and a pink one with butterflies and hearts "for girls". Never tried one so couldn't speak to the quality but its hilarious they've dug that finish out after 10+years.

Your review is spot on. Nice work. I own a Glary that was purchased locally on FB Marketplace. I paid $40 for it and it is perfect for what I wanted. My goal was a cheap guitar that could be played and kept in my office closet at work to give me some practice time doing beginner stuff, since I am a beginner. It also gave me a nice learning platform to play with how to adjust a bridge, and how to adjust a truss rod. I enjoyed your review. Best wishes.

I got the lightning one, threw in a dimebucker and it shreds. Glarry just threw there name on this one. These were under the Ktaxon name before. If you buy the Ktaxon one, you can put your own headstock label. I put a dean dime label and it's awesome.
@nycholdАй бұрын
I have two minds about super cheap guitars. On the one hand, it does allow for someone to get into playing guitar without a huge expense and most of those cheap guitars are actually playable even without any work at all. They're not going to be great to play, but they're playable at least, so if a parent without a lot of money has a child very interested in music, they're a great option. On the other hand, if there's not much money invested, if you get a lemon of a guitar or you don't know how (or can't afford) to set the guitar up properly, you're probably going to just say "well, I guess guitar's just not for me" and that's it. If you feel the pain of buying the guitar, even if it's the lesser pain of a quality budget guitar ($200-$400), not only is your experience is going to be better to keep you motivated, the "pain" might just be enough to keep you from walking away when you hit the F chord. So to me, Glarry is in a very bad price point and I would even argue they're capitalizing on people's failures rather then giving them the tools to succeed by staying there.
@mikeg6666Ай бұрын
Honestly I don't think they care because it's just another Chinese company that pushes more cheap crap on American consumers who think they're getting a deal because of the price and then end up getting burned. That's why I cancelled my temu account , I only had it for a few months but I liked all the skull stuff they had , beanie's , shirts , baseball caps etc. But I noticed that it was nothing like described and it was all very thin and cheap material , in some cases it seemed like it was paper material coated with paint. So I cancelled my subscription , plus I found they were mining for my personal data. But that's another story , the point is you get what you pay for so I'd rather spend more money and get better quality.....

I can't speak to the quality of their guitars, but I grabbed the 5 and 6 string basses with the upgraded pickup option on Amazon and they are absolutely great basses, as is. The action, intonation, neck, and fret work was spot on, and no adjustments needed. Pickups are punchy and sound great through my Rumble 800.I swapped the strings, and it is a solid bass that plays great. I have other basses cost 7-8x as much as the Glarry and I keep going back to it when I play bass. I have no interest in modding the Glarry and I mod EVERYTHING music or electronic related. Was always curious how their guitars were. Thank you for the video!
@doknoxАй бұрын
Yep. The bass I got is great. Neck heavy but... the guitars are no good. I had 2. Used them as modding platforms to practice. The one is decent now and the other is now a neck on another body that I made myself. The glarry bodies are made out of the lightest cheapest wood I've ever seen. Lol
@RocktCityTimАй бұрын
I think you've hit the nail on the head - staying in their lane. However, at $65, don't think of it as a guitar, but rather a guitar kit where the finishing has been done. Take it all apart and then treat it as any kit Strat that you can buy. Assemble and setup - et voila! A great build/mod experience.
@BriansgateАй бұрын
I concur. It would be fantastic for people who want to start experimenting with modding. And I'm very happy that you used the trem bar. Yes, you knew it would be bad, and yes, it was indeed bad. But, so many people don't demonstrate it.

I've owned a couple of Glarry guitars, the Burning Fire and GIB bass. The burning fire, I've had to file the fret edges, re-glue the nut, replace the tuners with locking tuners, adjust the truss rod a few times, and level the frets a couple of times during the time I had it. The bass, I replaced the nut with a brass one, and adjusted the truss rod a few times. They both played and sounded great. The intonation was a bit off on both, so I had to fix that. I'd only recommend Glarry to someone just starting out.

If the humidity in my home is steady, the guitar stays in tune for days hanging on my wall. When I play it and use the trem to dive bomb, it still stays in tune (although I mainly use it to "warble"). I am very pleased with it.

I work on guitars and own 3 glarry guitars. I’ve completely tore them down and replaced everything with premium parts, rerouted the neck pockets, neck and fret setup and they are jammers now. It was more for fun, yes you can get a nicer guitar for more but even hi-end guitars need to be set up when you buy them. You can’t buy a guitar body for the price of those guitars. When I started playing in the mid 80's the best you could do for $65 was an old beat up Japanese import or some plywood monstrosity from the Sears catalog. I had the Memphis "Explorer style" guitar with built in amp from Monkey Wards. I stripped the body to repaint it and it turned out it was pressed cardboard. So comparatively we are in the golden age of cheap AF guitars.

I got that blue tiger-stripe Glarry super-strat and it needed some TLC (neck shim, truss & saddle adjustment, some fret ends needed a little touch up). Got a 5 string bass (the GIB ibanez knock off) and it needed all the same as the guitar but I had to level 2 frets due to buzz. But man they are both great everyday practice tools.
@johnro6659Ай бұрын
The strat type copies are always the least expensive to make so they are the more affordable guitars out there. I do love the graphics and the rosewood fret board. I do not like single coils and if it's routed enough I would toss the pick guard and single coils replace them with one that would take two humbuckers and a 3 way switch, ditch the bridge or lock it all together. I have to say it surprised me it sounds pretty good until it went out of tune. LOL Maybe if you decide to mod it we can see whats under the pick guard.

I was gifted a new Glarry yellow Tele from my buddy Greg (R.I.P.), didnt know he'd ordered it and Glarry shipped to my address. When the setup and upgrades were finished it actually ended up being a NICE GUITAR. I never expected it to equal a $2,500.00 Fender, but its Tele enough to do Tele stuff. Out of the box it was better than i expected it to be. Out of the box the bridge AND bridge pickup were so microphonic you could hear my eyeballs thru the amp when i looked at it.

I bought one of these years ago, and it wasn't very playable due to the nut slots not being cut down enough. Recently bought a couple Glarry basses (Jazz and P), and they're the same.
