Absolutely the best cover of this song ever....grew up in that era and know these songs from the original artists that Angelina does. She just takes singing to a whole new artistic level and tries to touch your soul each time...mission accomplished.

She has said that she goes to another beautiful place when she sings,perhaps that's literal.

Agreeing with chris malinowski. I am understanding songs, as interpreted by Angelina, for the first time after hearing them many, many times before. 12 years old, duck shirt and melting our hearts.

Beautifully said about this talented, *_and very creative._* young spirit, the way she's showing us little pieces here and there from the huge canvas she's painting. Kind of a jig-saw puzzle, but at the same time it's not a puzzle at all. Even if all the pieces have odd shapes and different colours, they still fit perfectly together which ever two you decide to pick up. All these different genres she's testing is not only a way to express her creativity, but also a great way to study music. Sometimes it feels like "ok mastered that one, what's next?".

This was one of my favorites from Mamas and the Papas. Angelina did this Song Justice. Thanks for posting this Reaction. 🙇🏻♀️🔎❤️🎵🎶❤️🎶🎵🇺🇸. Yes, I was born in the 60s and went to Woodstock as a child of 4 years old and I remember watching Carlos Santana LIVE. Oh, the awesome memories this song brought back. 🙋🏻♀️💕👏🏽🇺🇸

The shirt says, "kid", but the song says, "seasoned professional that has lived many lives". I was stuck on this one for a while. It was always the first one I would play when I sat down to listen to some Angelina. You are right that she closes her eyes when she sings... She has said that she goes into a different world when she sings. When you close your eyes, it is because she is pulling you into that world with her.

This performance and arrangement by AJ and Ivan is in my top 5. It's remarkable how she took this classic pop song and created something completely different; slowed it way down, changed a few notes, did it acoustic, and gave it a bluesie, jazz vibe. Every time I hear it I'm amazed by what a fantastic thing she has created. And oh yeah, she's 12 years old here. I put it right up there with her arrangement of Bohemian Rhapsody. Some people want to downplay her talent because she hasn't composed enough original music. I don't care if she never writes another original song. For me, what she has done to make so many established songs her own, and usually better than the original, puts her in a class by herself. And "California Dreamin'" is at the top of the list. Much love to you and Stan for all you have done to promote AJ's career. 😊💕

William, I totally agree. What she does with classic songs by re-interpreting/re-arranging is mind boggling & she makes them totally unique. I saw a video of a singing competition & the tag line referred to the song as "Bohemian Rhapsody in the style of Angelina Jordan," which she has copyrighted. It's her original version now! I really look forward to her totally original songs in the future.

Yes. Yes. Yes. You are 100% correct she doesn't have wright songs to impact the music world. Elvis only wrote or 'colaberated' on 9 songs. (Wiki)
@brucecumming88034 жыл бұрын
I agree, too much weight is put on writing you own songs. Angelina is an amazing re-interpreter of songs which is what a lot of Jazz is all about. I do like her originals though. I'm sure she will write enough great songs to make everybody happy.
@kasparhauser53574 жыл бұрын
I`d say it that way, far better than any book or tourist information ever could Angelina is painting a colorful and deep impression of the "Californian dream" with her voice in this short little song.This of course has nothing to do anymore with the realities of this state but it might actually remind people of what they have lost or forgotten.

I think getting into Angelina's mind for a day would break Covid social distancing rules. I agree with your points though. I read a comment once that said when Angelina closes/rolls her eyes it is going to be really good and when she lifts both hands to her chest the feelings are going to hit max. One of my favorites this song.

@alberttenfoot4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for another excellent reaction to Angelina. I like your "geographical" metaphor. Like a journey into unknown territory, how Angelina is going to perform a "well known" song in unknown until you listen to her. As I have posted in so many videos: one may often be surprised at the song Angelina chooses to sing but one will NEVER be disappointed. This applies to many of her rehearsals which, in my opinion, are as good as the published performances of many other singers. And, of coursde, we get the added bonus of seeing Angelina acting her age. She has a well developed sense of humour, too.

Must be a beautiful space, judging by all she puts into her art.

I am a huge Angelina fan, and this performance is stellar. She made it her own as always! Another artist you may want to look at is Emily Bear. She is a concert pianist, one of the best I've ever seen. She was the youngest ever to play Carnegie Hall at 5 years old! Quincy Jones took her under his wing. This is a compilation of one very difficult song she did at different ages between 8 and 13. Absolutely remarkable! kzbin.info/www/bejne/e5OnhHhnbpdnra8
