Yeah I'm still a big Tarja fan I always thought Phantom, Nemo, Sleeping Sun, Over the Hills, and Ghost Love Score would just be hers and would not sound right with anyone else. Then along comes Floor she is as good on most of them and just plain owned Ghost Love Score.

This song is so powerful and floor is a stagebeast. She is in it. Holy shit. She had a depression. I think, she gave and give 100% for every song, but its dangerous for her soul. Nightwish was her healing island. I hope, she can handle it in the future. I love her so much. Her stage present is amazing.

Yes Tuomas has control of the music and has his hand in the production. He is a perfectionist. That is not that he doesn't let the other band members have input. Marko helps in some songs. I know he wrote one or two of the songs. I read somewhere that Emppu has written one. This is one of my favorite songs. The more videos you watch Emppu(the guitarist) is always doing funny and strange things. He also throws guitar picks out to the audience at every show. Tuomas said in a interview that Emppu cannot stay still. lol I am glad you are enjoying the ride! :-)

I and (obviously)many of my fellow Nightwish fans, have become addicted to Nightwish reactions, so I've subscribed to quite a few. I like your chemistry and you are musically perceptive. Once again you guys were great! I knew you would appreciate this song. It definitely helps to see the lyrics. Just a little advice regarding the lyrics of Nightwish songs. Most are written by Tuomas and he is very much into poetry. More precisely lyric poetry, developed in ancient Greece and termed "melic poetry", translated as song poetry. His lyrics paint pictures and create emotional responses. He wants you to think about his lyrical and musical compositions. He uses metaphors, allegories, and symbolism. This allows the individual to decide what the story/song is trying to portray. It also makes each song a very personal journey. This song is actually about how we should all live our life to the fullest, thus "carpe diem" quam minimum credula postero! Seven days represents a short time and the wolves and poison represent death, which is never far away. Thus live every moment as if it were your last. You're right Stan, not many bands go to this level of complexity with their songs. This is the work of Tuomas, the composer and keyboard player (He talks about this in interviews). His creation process is very unique; he visualizes every song in his mind like a movie with a story, hearing all the instruments in his head as well. That's the reason why the songs give that sensation of movie soundtracks. He also writes music in a very classical way, including orchestration.

Tuomas has written most of the music, 'tis true. But what hasn't been said is that Tuomas is such a genius because he structures a lot of songs similar to composers like Hans Zimmer, who is an idol of his, and just so happens to write music scores for movies.

The best way I've read it described: Tuomas approaches composing the songs as a classical composer who uses metal elements rather than writing a metal song with orchestral elements. This is what makes Nightwish stand out to me, even against most other symphonic metal bands.

Ok man i don't comment very often on videos, but i have do one now. All these songs that you guys have listened, are nothing compared to what they have in store for you to yet hear. I seriously suggest you start listening to their albums. You can even make a reaction to one, Imaginarium is really popular right now as the reactions. I mean they do have a new album to come out in 2020, so you better get into their music quick lol I started my NW journey with only 4 songs that i listened for about 5 years. Then i was forced to listen the album ONCE, and after that i had to check out the rest of the stuff. Now i know 96% of their songs so i could sing along. They have so many amazing epic songs - Beauty and the Beast, Fantasmic, Slaying the dreamer, Shudder before the beautiful, ETC If you want to do an official music video i suggest you do Wish i had and Angel OR Bless the child - You'll be surprised. So on and on you've earned a new sub, and i hope to see more nightwish on this channel.

In my opinion, 7 Days to the Wolves' is about what would happen if society collapsed and the thin veneer of civility we operate under disappears. 7 days is when most people have eaten all the food in there house and most go looking for it elsewhere for it. Unless of course you are a Prepper. Who will be the Heroes, who would protect those who can't protect themselves. From the HUMAN Wolves who would be preying on them. An who would be the cowards that c/wouldn't. Thank goodness for the 2nd Amendment!!! Without it, only the criminal/wolves would have firearms!

Part 2 The tensions that existed between the band members and Tarja, including Tarja's husband/manager Marcelo Cabuli (an executive at an Argentinian record company), built up over the course of several years until in 2005 a breaking point was reached and the whole band couldn't take it any longer. Here are some facts that contributed to the final decision to fire Tarja. - Tarja kept hidden from the band that she got married to Marcelo Cabuli. Marcelo was not liked by the band. - Marcelo, as her manager, meddled too much in band affairs that were not his business in the first place and created a wedge between Tarja and the band. As a result Tarja kept a certain distance from the band that certainly is not good if you are in this band together, working extensively with eachother. - Marcelo did everything he could for Tarja to get more money out of it. This didn't sit well with the band, because they were formed based on equality. - Tarja never participated in writing and arranging the songs. - Tarja never rehearsed with the band and only came to the studio to record the songs. - Tarja didn't want to travel with the band during tours. Instead she traveled with her husband. - Before shows Tarja remained in her own dressing room, only to join the rest of the band while going on stage. - Tarja apparently couldn't understand that Nightwish always was and always will be all about the band as a collective and not about her as an individual, eventhough she was the front woman and main vocalist. Therefore, certain often displayed diva-like behaviour was not accepted by the band. - Marcelo convinced Tarja that she didn't need Nightwish and would be better off going on a solo career. - Tarja had already planned to leave the band after the next album and tour. Directly after the final concert of the tour and recording of their DVD "End Of An Era" Tarja got fired by the whole band unanimously by means of an open letter, in which content she could not recognise herself, as she stated herself the next day in an open letter as well (both letters can be found on internet). Fact is that Nightwish is hugely popular in Finland and is regarded as partly responsible for putting Finland on the global map. Tarja is very well liked and highly regarded in Finland. She is adored by fans and media. Needless to say that it came as a shock to everyone to learn that she was fired from Nightwish. It was all over the news on tv and radio, in newspapers and magazines nationwide and internationally. Even the prime minister of Finland was briefed about the news. Fans and media were outraged. As the leader of the band, Tuomas alone was blamed by almost everyone for firing the people's darling Tarja, eventhough that decision was made unanimously by everyone in the band. He took the blame upon himself and had not only to deal with Tarja leaving, but also all of the fallout and backlash that came with it. This left Tuomas severely heartbroken and heavily depressed. Any speculations about Tuomas having had romantic feelings for Tarja are not proven and not confirmed. There still are some speculations that he might have had suicidal thoughts at that time. Whether that's true or not is only known to the poet himself and a few insiders. The band as a whole was deeply scarred by these events. Tuomas never fully recovered from this. He wrote the song 'The Poet And The Pendulum' about his feelings of it all and figuratively committed suicide in the lyrics. Fact is that, during what Tuomas calls "the dark period", he went home to his parents (his "Dreamer's Hideaway") for recuperation and had a long talk with them. The lyrics in the last part of the song are in fact the words Tuomas' mother spoke to him to console him. During the performance of that last part of the song Emppu and Marko are standing by his side to support him. Because it still hurts him to this day Tuomas doesn't wear his ear monitor throughout the performance of 'The Poet And The Pendulum'. Floor gets compared a lot to Tarja. Both ladies are great, but Floor is the most versatile and has better techniques. Floor briefly studied classical and operatic singing and is also a vocal coach. She can sing operatic, rock, metal, pop and she can do low growls/grunts. That makes her equipped to sing all songs from both Tarja's era and from Anette's era and much more. Floor manages to elevate songs that were originally written for Tarja and Anette to a much higher level. Anette has strong vocals and a beautiful sound, but her vocal abilities and style do not fit the band's musical character. Floor has an amazing vocal range and a great feeling for dramatics. She definitely knows how to tell a story. She has the ability to get into the emotions of the lyrics and deliver the songs as if she's living and feeling those emotions at that exact moment. That's pure talent. However great a singer Tarja is, she also sings with much emotion in her voice, she's never been able to deliver it like Floor does. Tarja lacks the imagination to empathize with the lyrics and their meaning. Floor really makes you feel the songs as they were written and how they're meant to be heard. She makes the songs come to life even more. Have fun on this epic journey into the beautiful and wonderful world of Nightwish and enjoy every precious second of it! Spread the love! Nightwish songs I recommend you to react to are: Ghost Love Score (Wacken 2013, the best song to start getting acquainted with Nightwish), Romanticide (Wacken 2013), Yours Is An Empty Hope (Wembley 2015), Ghost River, The Poet And The Pendulum (Wembley 2015 or Wembley 2016, definitely with lyrics, it's not recommended to listen to this song first before any other Nightwish songs), Song Of Myself, Greatest Show On Earth, Ever Dream, Élan, My Walden, Shudder Before The Beautiful, The Islander (Tampere 2015, Marko singing). Thank you for your outstanding explanation. The story with Tarja is even worse than I have learnt so far. Luckily I don't like her voice at all (my taste). I think i'am going to buy an album from the Anette era; see if I can like her (I am not convinced by her singing live). Floor is the one who pulled me on board; and now I am addicted. What a music, lyrics, sounds and performance. Tuomas is fantastic; the band incredible, and Floor .... a goddess.

On what video to react to: It depends on what you want. If you choose a pure lyric video with the most views, chances are it will be studio version, which means before floor was their singer. howevee, it means you can analyze the meaning better. On the other site, choosing live with, floor is closer to nightwise now, and what many like, but without the meaning

ALERT! As much as I love Nightwish.. I really do believe me! I think you guys should check out Sabaton! They have so much great songs and most (probably all of them) are based on real story's that has happen. Alot of the songs are about the WW2 for example. They have a bunch of good songs at Woodstock! Some examples of what you can't miss: -Panzerkampf -The last stand -Carolus rex -Great war -Ghost division -Night witches And the latest single -Bismarck. You have to check up on their video to the song (goosebumps) Cheers!
