It's because Floor is THERE, in the moment, with them. Sometimes Tarja seemed to be somewhere else when she was on stage. And Anette had stage fright, or was very nervous when she was on stage.
@honestbenny4 жыл бұрын
@@darkiee69 Not to mention there was absolutely no way she could keep up with Marco if he went full out, which was also sad cause Marco had to hold off to not overshadow "lead singer". If it makes you feel any better, Tuomas been SERIOUSLY doing this for over 20 yrs, fanatically devoted to perfection. The inside of his head must be a vast swirling galaxy the size of the Milky Way. He has entire solar systems in there. All full of music. Which, you know, doesn't leave room for much else. And can I just shout out for Floor? She is trail blazing for a lot of young female singers, showing them that they can be more than just something pretty to look at on stage. Floor OWNS her power, her great talents and dedication to training. She is a force to be reckoned with, an equal partner on the stage. Yeah, she's smokin' hot. But she's more than a stage ornament.

There is an older composer dude (Doug Helvering) that really picks up on the time signatures, key changes, et. al. I think Chase is one of the best overall reactors. I have to admin that out of the maybe 50 reactors to GLS, 10 of them provided useful technical information about GLS (like Tank the Tech) that give a more complete understanding of everything.

Before you get to the BIG TWO ( Poet and the pendulum and The Greatest Show on Earth) Big because they are both over ten minuets. I think you need to see: I want my tears back (Live at Wacken) Shows more of Troys talents and a new side you have yet to see. Dark Chest of wonders (Wacken) A kickass opener for more of that metal goodness. Wish I Had An Angel (Wacken) For more Floor and Marco harmonies. The Islander (live at Tampere) Beautiful Marco showpiece. While your lips are still red (live at Wembley) One of Nightwish's slower songs and great vocals by Marco. Nemo and Ever Dream (both at Wacken) mainly because they are two very popular songs and the whole Wacken show is gold. Yours is an Empty Hope (Wembley 2015) Proper grows from Floor in this one. Devil & the Deep Dark Ocean (live in Buenos Aries) A very old song reborn but it's a must see. It is insane. Dead Boy's Poem (live Buenos Aries) Another old song redone. Very emotional performance. Shudder Before The Beautiful (Wembley) For me personally it's the guitar riff that does it for me. There's probably some I missed but then I think you are good to go on THE BIG TWO. I've always thought Nightwish had a proggy influence to them. There's something very sneaky and subtle about the way Tuomas writes music. You can tell by all the attention put into the details that he really knows what he's doing and that he's also got the good fortune to have band members around that are excellent musicians in their own right. It's not showing off but below the surface you can see that they're secretly stupidly good musicians, they just don't feel the need to overplay. Which makes even more complex pieces like this one (structurally it's just like - wow) or Song of Myself all the more impressive, because at first sight you don't realize there's so much stuff going on. It doesn't hurt their vocalist is one of the most talented women around either. Also, their hometown in Kitee has a museum dedicated to these guys run by their former music teacher.

You're so with the music, I grinned right alongside you, uncontrollably! Very enjoyable to watch, but on top of that you have expert knowledge on the technical aspects, making musically illiterate ones like me appreciate our favorite band even more after years through new understanding!

Chase, you have the BEST facial expressions, and knowing you have an amazing analysis brewing makes me so happy to watch your reactions. The smile you gave just before the 14 min mark, made me think you might come out with a Jurassic Park quote, "Clever girl"... just so fun to watch your suspicions, sometimes confirmed, sometimes confounded. Big kudos.

Been a fan of Nightwish for 15 years and watching your videos has sent me into another spiral where I don't want to listen to anything but Nightwish after I'd been off them for a while, so you've certainly accomplished passing on "living that euphoria"

I’m a huge Nightwish fan BUT I haven’t heard all their songs yet. This was such a treat to hear for the first time and enjoy your reaction and commentary along with it. When Marko sings, I get this feeling in the pit of my stomach like I am in love for the first time. I’m happily married to my own bearded God but dang it! Marko has infiltrated my senses!! And Floor, well she is just beyond comprehension.

My favourite Nightwish reactor, and you’re right, it’s great seeing your first time reaction and reliving the amazement and excitement I had the first time I heard them through you.

Thanks again, great reaction and good insight 👍. And one of the most satisfying things in watching the reaction videos is when someone sees (or hears in this case, the music is the key) your favourite stuff for the first time and just loves it. You kind of get to live the first time again (which in this case is great, some other cases... maybe not 🤣).

I was late to the Nightwish party myself. Making up for lost time here. I love you analyses as there’s the right combination of pure reaction and knowledge dropping. I can’t wait for more

Nightwish may be the best at what they do, but what I'm concerned you're the best at what you do! Love your reactions. Me myself am a big Nightwish fan and I really like your breakdowns of the songs. Don't bother to push that pause button 'cause you really got something to say about what happens. Keep it up! 🤘🎼🎶🔊🤪

My new favourite Nightwish reactions, not many of these can tell me something new and interesting after listening to this stuff hundred times over with various commentaries from various vocal coaches, musicians etc. Yet, here it is. Can not wait for more! Mr. Carneson, prepare to be frustrated even more, there is no coming back now :D.

Great stuff, Chase. Troy (plays the pipes, acoustic, whistles etc) was brought in as a guest and touring musician when Nightwish started recording Dark Passion Play (2007) - the album this song is from. He was also a guest musician on Imaginaerum (2011) and became a full time member of the band at the end of the world tour of that album in 2013 (the year of THAT Wacken show) . His background is Celtic, folk-rock and traditional music, and so Tuomas wanted him to add those elements into the band.

I hate you dude! Before finding your channel, all I knew was that I liked the bands and songs you're reacting to but never really understood why. Now with your breakdowns and insights I'm spending a LOT more time analyzing everything I listen to. On one hand, I can't thank you enough and on the other, I'm exhausted from trying to understand every nuance of every song I come across. Regardless, my appreciation and love for all different kinds of music has been greatly enhanced thanks to you. Keep making my mind melt my friend!

It's never enough :-). A couple of years ago I became a fan by getting captured by one song and leaving me with the feeling I needed more. Ended up listening through the night... I just can't get enough! In my view, they are the best out there :-). Enjoying your reactions a lot. Keep it up! I'll be looking forward :-)

I agree! They opened the show with "Shudder" both at Wembley and Tampere. What an opener it is. Both versions are great. I like what Floor is wearing at Wembley, so that would be my choice. I love the duel between Tuomas and Emppu, taking turns with their solos. The keyboard solo sound is hilarious.

Great reaction as always - I am by no means a guitar expert nor do i play that well, but the info for Emppu's guitars are as follows: Emppu has tuned his studio guitars in D tuning since the release of Century Child (2002) - until then, his guitars were tuned in standard. During concerts, he has two guitars - one for each tuning - In 2004 Vuorinen started using an ESP custom shop version of the Horizon known as the EV-1. The EV-1 has an alder body, maple neck (neck through construction), ebony fingerboard, Seymour Duncan pickups (a Duncan Custom TB-5 in the bridge, a SHR-1n Hot Rails in the middle, and a SH2-n Jazz in the neck), 5 way switch, single volume control and a gold Floyd Rose tremolo system. He regularly used two during live shows, a purple one tuned to DGCFAD and a white one tuned to EADGBE. After the release of Dark Passion Play in 2007 he toured with a new signature guitar, the EV-2. This was very similar to the purple EV-1, but now had a tone control and a large decal on the body known as the "Harem Girl". The third incarnation of the series, the EV-3 appeared in 2012 featuring the Imaginaerum cover art and no middle pickup. On the band's 2012/13 Imaginaerum World Tour, Vuorinen used the EV-1 and EV-3. During rehearsals for Nightwish's eighth album Emppu has been using a new custom guitar, built for him by Ruokangas Guitars Hope that helps shed some light on his set up mate.

I love how you break down the music. Don’t worry about going back in the song. At the beginning when you talked about how the song started, I was hoping would start from the beginning. You picked up on something I didn’t even think about and I wanted to hear. Thank you for a great reaction and looking forward to the next Nightwish reaction.
