Hey beard, can you make a guide on getting started for dst? I always struggle with the first few days.

Explore, get food, get gold, set up science machine, craft backpack and shovel, use shovel to gather grass, twigs and berrie bushes for base, grab sone gears if you happen to find them, don't die to your first hound wave (if you struggle, run past other mobs. The hounds will get distracted and sometimes other mobs will even kill them for you). These should be the essentials to survive until the first winter. Also don't be afraid to try things out. You might die but you will learn which will help you in the long run.

I'm on dst 500 in my playthrough. Wes is my favorite character. Honestly you dont have to be "good" at the game or a good player. Every single thing in the game can be combated with knowledge. So as long as you dont panic and know what yo do next in the situation that arises then you'll be good to go. Watch all of his guides and you will be plenty well off.
