When you shone your torch down that drain just next to it was a short length of rail from Brunel`s broad gauge track. Well over 100 years old.

Here in the States, we have railroad equipment, no longer being used, just sitting around. These and yours, should be recycled into new rolling stock. Some work trains, had a crane and a flat car, along with other M of W cars. Sometimes, the flat car looked like a caboose, with a long front. Not sure how much these are used now. Nice video.

Most of those wagons have probably been on the GWSR since they took over the line in 1981 and moved there not long after the line reopened to Cheltenham Racecourse in 2003.

I love trains & Its videos. Good Job. Next time Go in pants, full sleeves, Cap N Hand Gloves. Don't get hurt. Use head gear with flashlight to free hands. Broad (British Gauge) We have Broad Gauge Double Line with overhead traction on all Trunk Routes in India. Meter gauge converted to broad. These Goods Trains with vacuum Brakes (Westinghouse) are still in used in India on old stock. Changing fast to Anti Lock Brakes. Now using Mostly 8 Wheelers and dedicated Freight Corridor Double Line with overhead Traction. When Kid play around Goods Train Yard. It was FUN.

I think there is a big problem with a shortage of volunteers for these preserved lines for them to get in this state, when i worked for British Rail 1974 to 1992 i wandered all over the place, BTP Police once caught me but when i showed my ID they let me go, Bletchley Depot...

i went there recently and most of the trains have been moved from the cave more down the bottom near the racecourse trains and there's people checking down there most of the time I've been down there so anyone that goes now just watch out as the guy that seen me and my mates he started to walk down to us and blocked the way that he went down in this video so we was blocked down there and we had to jump on the train and jump down over and we needed to go through nettles and we had to tear in the mud and get our self's out

@owenslanejunction75443 жыл бұрын
it all depends on space like for example the winchcombe workshop can handle about 5 veichles in the workshop at any one time so all depends on money, volunteers and space in the workshop

It looks like one of those trains is a breakdown set, judging by the crane & low loader.Is there any chance of that stretch of line being reconnected & reused?

Why do railroads let these cars sit, the steel should be recycled. I've never gotten why they let these just sit.

It's probably not worth the cost of the labor and equipment needed to move rolling stock in such derelict condition, anyway! There would be a heap of safety officials all over trying to move this ancient rusting rolling stock just 2 inches!
@michaelcampin14644 жыл бұрын
With the price of scrap being low it's cheaper just to leave them be until the price goes up.

Alrighty then. I always have my wife or SO traipse around dangerous terrain wearing a sun dress and casual loafers. Seriously...if you are going to trespass at least look the part!😂
@DarkVoidIII5 жыл бұрын
The equipment is so old even the graffiti is getting worn away by the rust which doesn't seem to care what it was originally! :D I don't think there's much chance any of this equipment could even move without overhauling pretty much all of it's bearings and couplings and brake systems!

@@jacobdidcote6617 Seeing as you volunteer there I wonder if I could ask you - if you know - is the railway expanding to Honeybourne next; or is it going further into Town?
@jacobdidcote66175 жыл бұрын
@@Sharron-Idol Its a very grey area at the moment. There has been several rumours of it being extended to Prince Of Wales stadium but then also extending to Honeybourne. Would probably be more beneficial to extend to Honeybourne though as it will have a mainline connection. The platform at Honeybourne is there so we would just need to lay track. At the end of the day this is all speculation but it could happen in the near future.
