I think it's great that you're offering your time and knowledge to help others interested in this hobby. I feel it's more than a hobby for people such as yourself. It's an art form that takes years and decades to perfect. Practice and repetition. Thank you😀

Great video. The beauty of uniforms is that they change colour over time. They're only their "true" colour for a few weeks. Eventually they fade. Therefore, all five of those soldiers would've had a different colour uniform, and even their pants would've been a slightly different colour from their jacket. You could've chosen almost any combination of the colours you tested and it would've looked authentic.
@TheBearScaleModels Жыл бұрын
big thanks ! agreed about the colours of uniforms fading.

Agree. Reenactors are a good place to look at for variations in tones and colours or film series like band of brothers

Another great tutorial mate! Tamiya has finally reached a pinnacle of plastic injection moulding that surpasses Dragon and Miniart kits. Has to be one of the best kits that I’ve assembled. They have been very clever to hide the sprue attachment points and provide the recessed personal equipment areas which make it more realistic. Great work and thanks for sharing your work again ❤😊

That is a great set and the figures are top notch. I have them planned with 3 other figures for a diorama where they are watching one of their comrades getting attended to by a medic while one is giving a report to their commander.

Thats a great job on those figures. Detailed painting of what i could see. Unfortunately i dont have home internet so im straining to see on my mobile phone data. The figures have improved compared to the earlier versions. They do look natural rather in ridiculous poses. Tamiya continue to come up with better figures all the time. Excellent work there. Great video, very thorough. You might have skipped over the spraying the base layer a bit too quick, for a moment I thought you were airbrushing straight onto the raw plastic. Video shows what can be achieved with good injection moulding and solid painting skills!

Excellent how to video. Thank you. Do you have any suggestions on what material to use to fill gaps between the pieces, such as between the arm and the torso? I see you approached it by simply filling it with glue, but in my experience that can be messy and melt some of the details. Any other methods or products you like for gap filling?
@TheBearScaleModels11 ай бұрын
Correct I use pressure and the melted plastic fills the gap... this is the best method I have found as opposed to using filler. But if you prefer filler any putty will work... Mr dissolved putty is one of the best for small gaps.
@tomryan9434 ай бұрын
Would it be easier to paint the smaller parts before placing them on the figure, or would that interfere with the glue?

Hi, these figures are amazing! I bought one set, but I'm a beginner :( Which glue did you use for assemble the pieces?

What you do is you get the thin masking tape slice a small section of it about as thick as the straps on the figure paint it the right colour for the strap and use super glue to fix to rifles

Dear Sir, a very good guide to painting figures, but in order for it to be useful for beginner modellers and others, the paint numbers should be shown precisely or described on the screen, otherwise no one will use it. Regards.

@TheBearScaleModels Жыл бұрын
Hi Vinny.. well my advice is to get practice painting details in-situ. Even if packs are painted separately you still need to paint the belts and uniform as part of the figure.

Bear, great video! Earned you a like and a sub. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work. If I may offer one point of interest, the rank chevrons are a wee bit too high on the jackets. They should be about 1/2 way between the shoulder and the elbow. Sort of midway. I know it's nit-picking, but I offer the suggestion with all due respect to your artistic craft.
@TheBearScaleModels Жыл бұрын
Hi Robert big thanks for joining and useful feedback is 100% appreciated here. I had some difficulty finding m1943 with rank chevrons but they were indeed displayed on combat jackets. Then of course when it came to fit them on I totally forgot about you mention ! We wore them exactly the same with space on top of shoulder for divisional patch. Thanks again !

@peterdiepenthal4090 Жыл бұрын
If you cut the strips on the tap properly you should be able to make three to four straps you then just need to cut them to the right length to make the rifle straps give it a try with an old broken model to get it right
@peterdiepenthal4090 Жыл бұрын
I’ve also thought of something else cutting the masking tape thin enough and placing them over the straps on the models it would be very fidgety and time consuming be imagine how good it would look lm gonna be building some German soliders in the future mite give it a try
@TheBearScaleModels Жыл бұрын
Did you even watch the video ?
@peterdiepenthal4090 Жыл бұрын
Your better of making the slings from the very thin masking tape stronger and looks more real cause the tape is flat
