Hey BEAT family! Happy Friday! Here are 5 reasons why I believe that the apocrypha was not inspired by God and therefore should NOT in in our Bibles today. There are many false teachings in it and I go through only a few of them in this video. This video is much longer than my normal ones but please do watch and follow as best you can as this is a very DEEP and difficult topic to cover. Leave your questions, comments, disagreements below and let's talk about it! Please be respectful of all. Blessings,

@@wigi3795 Did you watch this video? How can you argue in light of the doctrinal inconsistencies found in the apocrypha? Have you truly investigated this and not just accepted what might have been handed down to you? The Bible cannot contradict itself and so therefore, there cannot be two truths. Either the Bible is wrong or the apocrypha is wrong. But they both cannot be right.

Hey Allen there's some misinformation in your video from the standpoint that you give the impression that the Apocrypha found in the Catholic bible is the same as the KJV 1611. In the 1611 there are 14 books in the KJV Apocrypha not 7 as you found in the Catholic bible. I would not be surprised that the Roman Catholics took certain liberties with the scriptures by inserting the doctrines of men in their pages. As they have by so-called removing the Sabbath day for Sunday and giving alternative holy days like Christmas and Easter not found in the Bible but were pagan celebration hundreds of years before Christ stepped on the scene. A comparative analysis between the two versions would be interesting. Based on the 14 KJV books I've read so far I haven't seen any doctrinal differences with the Canon. The two work together. The Maccabees also give a historical account of the time of the third beast's reign (The Greeks). When I was in the protestant church, I was always told that the period between the old and new testament is when God was silent. But this turned out to be false information once I started reading for myself. I've never viewed a Catholic Bible. I noticed that you quote from the Catholic bible. Have you read all 14 books of the KJV Apocrypha for at least scholarship purposes (so that you know that you know for yourself) or are your references based on other sources and commentaries? The only reason I ask is because of the focus on the Catholic 7 books but do not acknowledge the KJV 14 books. Laymen who view your video won't know the difference, so I think you do the people a disservice. Praise the Most High for you desire to serve His people, but we must worship him in spirit and in truth. So, you got to give the people the whole truth even in these short videos. Shalom.

The book of Maccabees does not tell us to pray for the dead. It explains what they were doing at that time. It does not instruct us to pray for the dead. There are many/most books that explain what the people were doing, but just because they were doing it doesn't mean it was right to do. Nowhere in the Bible does it say to be Catholic, Protestant, Baptist, Non-Denominational, Lutheran, and so on (list them all). The Bible says to follow Jesus and be like Jesus. Like all of these listed above they were created by man to fit their own agenda. Please look into the origin of the Catholic Church. The Catholic Church does tons of things that aren't in the Bible. In the book of Joshua it refers to the book of Jasher. In the book of Jude it refers to the book of Enoch. (Jasher & Enoch were removed from the bible) If these are Justified books why would they be referring to scripture that isn't true, books that arent inspired? That makes no sense. The same council that removed these books and others almost removed Revelations. If they did teachers like this would tell you to avoid it, and if we did how much critical information would we have missed? To much! Thats why the scripture teaches that you should not add or take away from his word. He knew people were gonna take away from his word. Do we believe the council or His word? Do we trust The Father or man? If you trust the people that removed his books then remove the book of Jude & Joshua yourself since they refer to corrupt scripture that this (so called anointed) council didn't deem as credible. Keep in mind you will find nowhere in scripture where the Most High had given these men permission to subtract from his word.

Well it wasn't sola scriptura, Bible doesn't say which books should be in the Bible, humans have chosen. Other cases where sola scriptura works poorly is when Christians contradicted Old Testament scriptures by saying pigs weren't unclean before any New Testament scriptures were written, let alone considered inspired (and as I said above humans decide what's inspired not the Bible). No Christian Orthodox denomination nor the Roman Catholic denomination (ie the oldest Christian denominations) followed sola scriptura, only later Protestants said it was true even though the Bible doesn't say >only< use the Bible to find >infallible< religious truths. If it did it would've caused problem especially to first four centuries of Christians.

They don't pray to the dead in fact they are instructed to pray only to the Father but they believe Mormons in Paradise go into what they call Spirit prison and preach the Gospel if Spirit accepts then if Baptisms and other ordinances are performed on earth they can get out, so much wrong with that doctrine it is surprising anyone could believe it but they do.

Hell has to empty up all her dead inhabitants for the the Final Judgement. All the dead both righteous and wicked who are waiting in paradise and hell in those holding places, Spirit prison is the place the rich man had found himself stuck in and Paradise where Lazarus went, is a holding place of peace and rest for gathering of all the righteous spirits, so the wicked will wait in a place of misery while the righteous will wait in a place of peace. They will be waiting for the time of the Resurrection and Final Judgement. Yes if someone does the temple work for their ancestors they will be let out of the prison....Isaiah describes the temple work of the dead of the prisoners being let out of spirit prision in Isaiah 42:6-7 But those who can't discern spiritual truth will only think it is just an earthly prison and not a spiritual prison.' This is why Paul talked about the three degrees of glory or gradings of the resurrection of the dead will go into after the books are first all opened up and all the dead stand all before God and are judged according to their works (Rev 20:12-13) . In the resurrection and Final Judgement everybody will be assigned by God a degree of glory (1 Cor 15:40-43) according to the works they have performed down here on the earth for God is Just.. He will grade all of the dead according to their works..... Speaking of the grading of the dead, Jesus taught, Ín My Father's House are Many Mansions'' Those who have sinned unto Perdition however like Judas did, will not be saved by the Father in a mansion of glory but will go to a place of no glory, but the rest who don't sin unto perdition will be saved in a degree of glory in heaven in one of those three levels so those who sin unto perdition will be cast into another place of hell called Outer Darkness down into that hell in the lake of fire which has no end to suffer in the second death while the temporary hell comes to an end when it delivers up all its dead out of it at the judgement who are worthy of receiving a mansion who have not sinned unto perdition.... So yes we teach that during the Millennium while Christ is on earth when he arrives, the wicked will suffer in the flame of eternal torment of dissapointment like the Rich man in hell for their unrepented sins and then they are brought out and judged, resurrected and assigned the lowest degree of glory by God because these spirits were rebellious, and disobedient to God and were not valiant on the earth and would not come to Christ. So they suffer even as Jesus did for them if you read the sufferings of Jesus in the garden of gethsemane, being in great agony for all our sins, that will be the sufferings of the wicked they will andure the pains of a God. But God is just and is no respecter of persons...

One thing I want to correct here, in Baruch 3:4, the prayer is saying that they are no better than the dead for they are suffering the consequences of the sin of their ancestors. It's not saying that the dead can pray. It's obvious that the one praying in the verse is alive. It's clearer if you use TEV. Unfortunately, this video was not an answer to prayer, since that would mean that God answered you with lies. I am trying to challenge the video's author to a public debate to confront him for his lies and misrepresentation of the truth. Here is a list of some things that are wrong: #1 - Catholics are not the only group that acccepts these books, so it's not a Catholic debate - its a debate against modern Christianity versus the first 1600 years of Christianity. #2 - misrepresentation of what 2 Maccabees teaches #3 - misrepresentation of what Tobit teaches (Tobit itself provides the context even, that shows that he's taking it out of context), also both Jesus and Daniel teach the same thing #4 - misrepresentation of what Barcuh teaches #5 - Wisdom 11:17 does not contradict Genesis is any way shape or form -- I'm at a loss of words to understand the logic behind this claim (if that's the absolute best he can find, something that agrees 100% with the bible) then that proves there's nothing wrong with the book #6 - lie that Jews rejected those books #7 - lie that Josephus rejected those books #8 - "the blood to Abel to Zechariah" is clearly nothing to with a canonical statement #9 - lie that New Testament never quotes so-called Apocrypha #10 - this is the absolute biggest lie in the entire video that proves that this person has absolutely no idea whatsoever what they are talking about -- that no one until the 16th century accept them (this lie is so ridiculous - the only people in 1600 years that seem to show some doubt about them was a few people btween 350-400AD, but they got over that and continued to accept them like all Christians did before then)

Could it be possible that the prayer regarding blotting out their sins was done so that God would spare Israel as a nation any fate that might come upon them because of these men's actions and that's why they were so thankful God showed them their sin? Some criticism: 1) while Maccabees is the reference for "praying to the dead", this is supported by Rev21-27 and 1Cor3:12-15 in terms of establishing a purgatory concept itself. That is, it becomes consistent with other areas of the New Testament. 2) this is the old "sola fide" thing, which isn't biblically supported. James and Romans both say that faith without works isn't enough. That's why Luther wanted to remove them as books. 3) these aren't mutually exclusive. "Formless matter" isn't said to be visible, so it doesn't contradict Hebrews at all. 4) the Jews also reject the New Testament entirely, so what?
@InhabitantOfOddworld5 жыл бұрын
@@williamsmith9948 No, not at all. It doesn't "offend" me. This isn't an ego thing. This is simply a fact of what's in the scripture; and the fact is Protestants reject much of scripture. That's why they removed 7 books from the OT, and Luther wanted to remove 4 from the NT before even his followers said that was a step too far.
@InhabitantOfOddworld5 жыл бұрын
@@williamsmith9948 And regarding work-less salvation itself, scripture is very explicit in condemning that, as well as all the apostolic and saintly figures who followed since. Salvation through works is precisely how one fulfills the virtues of charity, love and faith. Salvation without the works is meaningless. It's like a man looking at his reflection. As soon as he turns away, it is gone. That's exactly what you find among the work-less evangelists, the fair weather friends who only act according to Christ on a Sunday morning when the vicar is looking. And what do such people argue? They argue that people are saved regardless. That Jesus's sacrifice guarantees them a place in Heaven. And that's palpably wrong. People have, still do and will reject God's word. He won't guarantee them salvation. We can pray for it, but it's no certainty. Again, scripture is very clear about this *when* you don't cherry pick like Martin the German heretic.

@Minutemen Revival Ephesians 2:8-9 " For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.", John 3:16, Romans 3:22-28, 9:30-32, Galatians 2:16.... the Bible repeatedly and clearly states that salvation is by the grace of God, meaning we are born in the spirit and as such, we do good works not because our salvation depends on it but because the spirit of God is bearing fruit (Galatians 5:22-23 " But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. Against such things there is no law."). By saying that salvation can be attained through good works, we belittle God's perfect righteous standards (Romans 3:23) and also imply that Christ's sacrifice wasn't necessary (Galatians 2:21 " if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!"). Salvation through grace does not mean that we should continue to sin. Rather, we should live to honor God because of our gratitude towards Him and also to hold good testimony to those around us so that they may also come to know God. Genuine goodness is when you do good works even if you won't get in trouble for not doing good. And this is how God wants us to use our freedom through Christ.
@InhabitantOfOddworld5 жыл бұрын
@@avisiekesiezie7630 It doesn't imply that at all. Scripture maintains that works and faith are on equal footing. They are both necessary. Catholics don't say that works are superior to faith or grace the same way that we don't say tradition is superior to scripture. Again, both are equal and necessary. What protestants do in error is proclaim that one beats the other, and these are never supported. No biblical verse upholds either sola fide or sola scriptura.

1. 1 Cor 3:12-15 speaks of the possibility of someone losing his or her rewards in heaven but he or she is still saved. Verse 15 particularly doesn't speak about purgatory. 2. God bless you man of God. I'm a teacher myself and I am elated that you took the time to explain this to the people. It's something that I had to do as well, as I debated with others who were operating in ignorance. What's sad is that I came out of a Pentecostal Church and I heard there were preachers who were preaching and quoted from the Apocrypha themselves. The problem is that people are not seeking the Lord for truth and understanding. No one is fasting and praying and asking the Lord to confirm anything through the Holy Spirit anymore. They are just basing everything off of someone else's teachings and their intellect and that's why there are so many people giving in to false teachings. People need to realize that the Apocrypha was written during a time when God, because of His anger and displeasure had stopped speaking to His people. For 400 years, He was silent, until He sent John the Baptist. It was man who decided they needed to finish the scriptures. And to add to the Bible. But they did it without the guidance of the Holy Spirit or confirmation by the prophets. And the fact that the Jews and even Jesus Himself, who was also a Jew and the Apostles rejected these writings and didn't even reference them in the New Testament, should be all the evidence that people need to understand that these books should be rejected. But Satan is cunning and deceitful. He is the father of lies and has deceived many people into accepting these other teachings. The Bible tells us that we shouldn't seek after being teachers, knowing that the judgment for us will be harsher than others. You have to be called to be a true Kingdom Teacher. You have to be anointed by the Lord. Have to allow the Holy Spirit to guide you as you research and study to be able to rightly divide the Word of Truth. And many people are not called and are teaching based off of their own understanding. These false teachers are going to have to give an account for misleading so many people. And those who just accept it, without seeking the Lord through prayer and fasting, will be held accountable too. The Apocrypha is the Word of God people. It's the word of man, who tried to add to the Word of God because God stopped sending people to write scriptures. Please pray and fast about it, sincerely and I assure you that the Lord will confirm what this man is teaching as being true. God Bless You.

@@XeenMusicwhere do Jesus and Daniel teach the same as what is said in Tobit?
@XeenMusic7 ай бұрын
@@eveangel8967 #1 - For almsgiving rescues out of death and it cleans from every sin. The ones who are doing almsgiving will be filled with food of life; the ones who are doing sin and unrighteousness are warring against their own soul. (Tobit 12:9) & “For by giving alms, you will be storing up good treasure against a day of necessity. For that reason, almsgiving rescues one from death, and keeps one from entering into the darkness. For almsgiving is a good gift in the sight of the Most-High for all who give it.” (4:9~11) #2 - Nevertheless, all of you, give the things which are within for alms, and, behold, all things will be clean to you. (Luke 11:39) #3 - Therefore, O King, let my advice seem good to you, and abolish your sin in righteousness and your iniquities by giving alms to poor persons; behold, a lengthening shall come to your prosperity." (Daniel 4:27) It should also be noted that the context of Tobit with almsgiving has to do with physical consequences in this life. If the person actually read the book, they would know what "rescuing one from death" and "keeps one from entering the darkness means", because the book explains this: Tobit 14:10-11 “Look, my boy, at what Nadin did to Aciykar, the one who nourished him. Did not Aciykar go down alive into the earth? And yet God redressed the dishonor which was done to his person. And Aciykar came out again to see the light, but Nadin passed into the darkness which lasts even to the age, because he had sought to kill-off Aciykar. Because he did alms, Aciykar was saved out of a snare of the death which Nadin pitched for him, but Nadin fell-in into the trap instead, and it caused him to become lost. 11 And now, little-boys-and-girls, see what almsgiving does, and what unrighteousness does-how it kills off.” This is referring to a situation, in which Nadin plots against the righteous Aciykar and has him slanderously put in a physical prison. But because of the fact that Aciykar had been giving alms, this shows that he was a righteous man and the king recognizes this and saves him out of the prison before the day of his execution, and Nadin ends up falling into his own trap and is killed. So this provides an example of what the quotation is referring to in the book itself. So thisKZbin video is failing to show the readers the context of the quotations, and are distorting the truth to make those verses sound like something they are not saying and making it seem like they teach something contrary to the rest of the bible, when they do not.

Hi Allen. I think you failed to lead your followers to the history and when and how the Protestantcame up with the 66 books. If Catholics added the deuterocanonical books in 1546, then Martin Luther beat us to the punch: He included them in his first German translation, published the Council of Trent. They can also be found in the first King James Version (1611) and in the first Bible ever printed, the Gutenberg Bible (a century before Trent). In fact, these books were included in almost every Bible until the Edinburgh Committee of the British Foreign Bible Society excised them in 1825. Until then, they had been included at least in an appendix of Protestant Bibles. It is historically demonstrable that Catholics did not add the books, Protestants took them out.

The books that Protestants removed from the Bible are not Apocrypha to the Original Church. Maccabees talks about how they got tired of standing there and getting killed. Just to be clear, Mr. Parr says Judas, but it's not the Judas of the New Testament. They pray for the dead so that the Lord will have mercy on the fallen people's souls... Only the living can pray, so when someone dies, they are no longer able to pray because their body is gone. We pray for them for mercy. The money is not to buy favor... it's a sacrifice of our property... for works asking forgiveness for their sins. It's a selfless act. So Mr. Parr needs to understand things in context before he condemns them. Praying for someone on their behalf is not a sin. It's actually what Christ tells us to do. And if the dead can't pray, then we are their only source of prayer. Why would it be bad to ask Christ to forgive the sins of a sinner? We are all sinners. The money for the collection of Drachmae was for a jewish custom where they would do a sacrifice to cleanse people of their sin. We don't do animal sacrifices anymore, but praying for the dead, on their behalf, is a kind thing to do for a soul who can not ask forgiveness for their own sins. The reason why Mr. Parr doesn't understand this is because he comes to Maccabees with preconceived notions that we pray to dead people. NOPE. We pray to Christ to forgive them, and we have memorials and liturgies to lift them up from sin, because that is how the Jews did things. The virgin Mary interceded on the behalf of the wedding party in Canan, and Christ changed HIs mind and made wine from water... Why can't we pray to Christ to have mercy on someone's soul who has fallen asleep to the Lord? I want people to pray for me after I die, and everyone should. As a matter of fact, the Orthodox Church prays for the Protestant dead to lift them up, because we know that there are people like Mr. Parr that do not understand the Context.

Maybe you can answer this question, or add it to your reasons for rejecting the Apocrypha. Where is Christ in the Apocrypha? Throughout the Old Testament, Christ is portrayed either as being interacted with (Adam walking with God, Moses talking and meeting with Him, etc.), prophesied about, or portrayed as a "type" such as Joseph, Moses and other people during certain events, and with the Tabernacle. I am sure it is inevitable, that Christ is missing from these Apocryphal books. Maybe you can confirm it. Again, this is an excellent video, well done and with great supporting evidences. Thank you!

Buck McDaniel good observation. This is what some of the early church fathers were wrestling with also. Not only do these books not claim to be authoritative in their own writings, but, there is no evidence that they are authoritative or inspired. That's why there have been many councils (before the Council of Trent) that reaffirm the canon of the Bible, which includes the deuterocanonical books: Hippo (393), Carthage (397, 419), II Nicea (787), Florence (1442). You received without paying; give without pay. “ You also see this in 1 Kings 17:17-24 ( when Elijah called out to the Lord to raise a boy from the dead ). Christians are called to call upon the Lord and ask him for such miracles to occur especially if Jesus and Elijah are teaching us to do it, and I believe God will grant Life when he deem fit.

In this case, it is enlightening to see how Paul, the author of 1 Corinthians, continues in verse 30: “And why stand we in jeopardy every hour?” In verse 29 he uses “they.” In verse 30 he switches to “we.” By doing this, Paul clearly distinguishes himself from those who were baptizing for the dead. In fact, by using the plural “we.” he includes others who are in jeopardy. He obviously refers to other Christians who were in danger of being persecuted. Therefore, we can definitely say the following: Paul never says he or any other Christian ever baptized the dead. The Bible never commands baptism for the dead. Verse 29 states a fact; it does not give a command. The LDS interpretation of the living being vicariously baptized for the dead violates the biblical teaching that death ends a person’s chance to repent and believe. OTHER BIBLE VERSES Proverbs 11:7 states: “When a wicked man dieth, his expectation shall perish: and the hope of unjust men perisheth.” Hebrews 9:27 makes the same point: “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.” The rich man in Jesus’s story recorded in Luke 16:19-31 has no hope of a better condition. CORRECTLY INTERPRETING 1 CORINTHIANS 15:29 So, what is the correct interpretation of 1 Corinthians 15:29? We must admit that, although the original recipients of Paul’s letter knew exactly what he was referring to, we don’t know. Any explanation is only tentative. Just among conservative biblical scholars, there are dozens of different interpretations. Most of them center on the Greek preposition translated “for” in the phrase “for the dead.” It is a preposition which can be translated a number of different ways. The translation we prefer, especially because the context is all about the resurrection, is to translate it with “over”: “over the dead.” The scenario would be of a new believer being baptized over the grave of a departed loved one as a striking statement of their belief they would be reunited with them because of the resurrection. It must be emphasized, however, that this is only tentative. It must also be emphasized that, for the reasons cited above, we can definitely state that the LDS interpretation is completely false.

@@cesarcardona1984 thank you for you gracious reply, I really don't understand that verse, but what I get out of it is a that Paul, is reminding Christians that there is a resurrection and a life outside of this world that we inhabit. God bless you

the context is that if Jesus Christ didn't rise from the dead then why baptize people who in turn will be dead no matter what because if Jesus Christ didn't rise then all is in vain. Verse 12-13 clears this up and puts it into context. Great thing he rised from dead from God. HALLELUJAH!!!!!

@@iceinferno7777 my good friend thank you for your reply. The 15 the chapter of 1st Corinthians is an amazing chapter full or information on the death and resurrection, the type of resurrection body the rapture. The simple fact that people are baptizing people for the dead is not explained, nor do I understand why this could be done. Also Paul states that they that are asleep will rise, as Christian I believe that Christ has destroyed death, upon our departure from our bodies we go directly to be with the Lord Jesus Christ in heaven. Who are those that sleep?

Thanks a lot for sharing your thoughts on this. I'd point out that you really got the catholic teaching wrong from the very beginning. I don't know if it was an attempt to straw-man the catholic doctrine, or if it's simply a result of a misunderstanding. Anyway, thanks a lot, for I truly believe you did this video with love and with the purpose of bringing people closer to what you believe is the truth of Jesus Christ. I'd recommend you see Trent Horn's answer to your video, where he actually explains the catholic teaching and rejects the historical facts that you present as evidence in a terrific manner.

This is the fruit of protestantism, which is self-refuting. If anyone can reach "the truth" by claiming to be guided by the Holy Spirit, we wouldn't have over 30,000 "churches" that disagree with one another

The very definition of Apocryphal in Webster’s Dictionary is “of doubtful authenticity; SPURIOUS.” The best lies are the ones closest to the truth. We really have to pray for discernment in this life and for the Holy Spirit to reveal what is truth and what is deception. Great video! Thanks!

Here's a thought my pastor had on praying for the dead: if they didn't or had trouble praying for for you while living, you can forget them praying for when you are actually dead🤣🤣🤣

the Apocrypha includes the missing Gap In Time between the Old and New Testaments, the period of "Hellenization" after Alexander the Great and the Greeks absorbed Persia, Jerusalem and Egypt (333BC) up until the coming of Christ (1AD). During this time Synagogues and Rabbis became mainline parts of the faith. "Hebrew" is a Greek word that refers the chosen people, the Israelites, those from the later city-state of Jerusalem (the Jews). The word "Hebrew" makes it's very first appearance in these Middle Testament books of the Apocrypha in the original tongue of it's writers, Greek. Yes "Hebrew" is a Greek word. The Old Testament was re-translated into Greek (becoming the Septuagint) with the native words of the Old Testament referring to the chosen people, now retranslated to also include the new Greek word, "Hebrew". It is because of this period of Hellenization that the later New Testament was penned in Greek, rather than any other language, like the Apocrypha had been penned. In the New Testament, Jesus goes to Jerusalem to celebrate The Feast of Dedication of the Temple in John 10.22. What is the Feast of Dedication of the Temple? You need to be familiar with the Middle Testament (the Apocrypha) to understand. 1 MACCABEES 4. [52] Early in the morning on the twenty-fifth day of the ninth month, which is the month of Chislev, in the one hundred forty-eighth year, [53] they rose and offered sacrifice, as the law directs, on the new altar of burnt offering that they had built. [nrsv] - - Today this is called "Hanukkah". Jesus observed it on the 25th of the month of Chislev in Jerusalem. - - - Today this gnosis is removed from the knowledge of the body of Christ. Contrary to what some believe, Protestants use to commonly have the "Middle Testament" in their Bibles until the 19th Century when removing it prevailed. At first it was to cut the expense of publication as the most important was the New Testament, and then of lesser importance was the Old Testament, and of still lesser importance was the Middle Testament (Apocrypha). Just as copies of the New Testament without the Old Testament does not mean that the Old Testament is not "inspired" when the first Bibles were printed without the Apocrypha, it did not originally imply that the Apocrypha was not "inspired" or part of the Complete Bible Canon. It was simply less relevant as it contained more of the modern Hebrew traditions rather than the more ancient Hebrew lore, such as Adam and Eve, Noah, Abraham, King David and Solomon and later prophets like Jonah, Isiah and Ezekiel. ...So, they were removed because the cost of Bible Publishing increased exponentially as the physical books grew in size beyond the abilities to use "new" Printing Presses (rather than hand scribes). Protestants like Martin Luther did use the Apocrypha, as did their congregations. Just as some carry around a New Testament because of size and cost restraints, so too were the original Bibles with just the Old and New Testaments. Now, it has become such an established tradition among Protestants to remove those books that they no longer consider them as part of the Bible. Nevertheless, the Apocrypha remains a critical piece of the puzzle that connects the Old Testament and the New Testament. Considering the Apocrypha as Not part of the Bible is part of the 20th Century anti-gnosis movement that wants to govern with dogma and remove understanding from "faith". In the end, that will lead to religious zombies who along know dogma, and are unable to rationalize their own beliefs, but rather simply explain everything with "because they said so". That is the anti-gnosis concept we call dogma today. "gnosis" is a Greek word, written into the Apocrypha for the first time, and it means "enlightenment" a form of "understanding" that's different from Technical "howto" knowledge or "law knowledge" (dogma) but rather it implies the knowledge (or light) being shined on mysteries, reveling an understandable truth, much like a light washing away darkness. If you live in dogma without gnosis, you live in the darkness without understanding, simply observing religious laws. Turn on the lights and Understand, become Enlightened, become Gnostic. Gnosis is about eliminating mysteries and coming to an understanding with an "I see now, I finally fully understand". Read the Apocrypha because it is Part of the Bible, and has been according to every major denomination until just a hundred years ago. sadly, Protestants now live in an agnostic Religion (a-gnosis, or Greek for without knowledge). Yes, they are the ones who are truly Agnostic.

The apocrypha are historical; not part of the Bible though. I’m well aware of Hanukkah and where it comes from dude. It was for the de-desolation of the temple. This was a very Jewish thing. But it doesn’t make the Apocrypha more than historical. Please don’t misrepresent Protestants like me next time bro.
