Complaining about being alone and single is a desire that you want to be with someone like having a wife. Psalm 37:4 Be content with yourself and God will give you the desire of your heart which is to have a wife like having a partner and being with someone. All you have to do is ask him for a wife and he will provide and give it to you but remember it's on God's time. His timing is perfect.

I can't speak for every one, but why is it so hard to find a spouse for people who are responsible, reasonable, etc.? I think it's because one or both will not ascribe to holy living. Rather, they do something, and when called on it, they say, no big deal, or lie about it. Is that really a Christian?

I do appreciate how Word based your points are.

He doesn’t make marriage look desirable
@michaelalbertson74574 жыл бұрын
It's because few want to live as God says. First evidence is when they won't forsake all others as the wedding vows say. Second is when one or both are so selfish that they only care about their happiness. Forsake all others, and see if your marriage works or not. Because if you don't, it won't. And put God first. Then only can He lead you both in the right way.

@petrichorbones5 жыл бұрын
i mean ideally if your values include low debt and/or good credit then hopefully the partner god blesses you with will also hold those values. i think the main thing is when you are married and are one, you both are essentially paying all of the same bills, which will include any debt from either side. i dont personally expect my so to help take care of my school debt (which is actually quite low in today's standards) but i already know that he is willing to help me with it, and we arent even at the point where he will need to yet (not married yet nor am i finished with school) and i also know that his debt is low and credit is good. we hold the same values of making sure we pay off the debt we do accrue and only spend what we know we can afford. instead of worrying over what kind of debt a potential so will have, i think it is best to just pray for the one god wills for you to be with, because he knows best no matter what that may end up being.
@rayetaylor29935 жыл бұрын
So, what you're saying is, only a person with good credit can make you happy? Wow! That's a very shallow way of thinking. What I'm hearing, you are telling God, to give you what you want, and not who he has for you, is that correct? What if what you want isn't what's best for you? In my experience, everytime a person tells God what they want, it's never good for them. If it was, you would have it. All I can say is, becareful what you ask for! U just might get it..
@TheGreatAustino5 жыл бұрын
@@rayetaylor2993 Thanks for the admonishment, one of the toughest things a lot of the young adult men in the churches around my area deal with is the idea that we need to be the "perfect" suitor before we can even so much as pursue women because of the worldly standards that seeped into the church. Allen you say that people who have these characteristics are not ready for marriage, but there are so many people who are like this that are married 🤷🏻♂️
@ironscrotum27425 жыл бұрын
Preach sister! The truth is, even in the Church, people are shallow. I agree with Allen’s argument that developing these qualities will lead to a more fulfilling, loving, and long-lasting marriage, but some people have an easier time attracting partners than others. The rise of dating apps like Tinder, Bumble, etc. have contributed to an increased emphasis on looks and other superficialities when choosing a partner. This is scriptural as well, because while God looks on the heart, Man looks on the outward appearance. You could have an average looking person who would make a wonderful spouse and is godly as can be, but no one will give them the time of day because they aren’t “hot” or whatever. On the flip-side, you have people who find each other physically attractive but are not spiritually or emotionally mature enough to handle a long-term commitment like marriage, and their relationships don’t last. If they do last, they aren’t healthy and are more a source of misery than joy.

I am ready ... i have had issues with anger and holding grudges ... now I’ve transitioned into refusing to carry baggage... God has hidden me and we have been on a slow dance... Pruning is a beautiful horror. I’ve had 3 engagements pulled away in painful ways and had to watch them marry not long after ... and it left me staggered and made me deviate from moving forward towards my purpose... God sat me down to reveal to me how He sees me ...now I have a internal peace that makes me respond instead of react.

Dang 😩. I’m married already, so it’s a bit too late for me. 16 years with my wife. Money is a big one for me, that I’m still learning, plus we have two kids. Some of the other stuff I struggle with as well🥺. If I knew any of this stuff first, I don’t think I would be married today. However, my wife is what I’ve prayed for. She brings out the best in me.

This video hurts a little cause my ex spouse did most of these things. Especially the emotional immaturity one . I was too naive to see the red flags. I'm thankful God is restoring my soul and healed my broken heart.

i remember when my eyes were opened to how many things we so easily make idols out of. i feel like i have been sort of doing the same by imagining things will be easier or happier after marriage. but instead i just need to continue working towards happiness in this moment of my life the same way i worked when i was single. i worked on myself and now i work with my relationship to make it strong, so that the marriage will have a strong beginning.

You know, I don't understand why it's idolatrous to want to be married, because when God made man, ( even with all the pets in the Garden of Eden) He saw it was not good for man to be alone. So, he made him a woman. It's part of our make-up to want to share a life.

This should be the foundational teaching in marriage ministry, meaning every marriage ministry thats counselling couples looking to get married should ask the couple these questions in the first meeting with said counsel and couple. Thanks for sharing! Great teaching!

I don’t like marriage and I never want to get married. I’m 18 and the only reason I thought about marriage was because I have a little bit of lust issues sometimes it’s hard to control. I JUST ASKED GOD yesterday SHOULD I GET MARRIED IN THE FUTURE to resolve my issues .....and know this YUP I’m happy because GOD answered me he said “NO MARRIAGE FOR YOU”😃😊 thank Jesus

#1: I learned at a young age how to stop depending on people. I also believe firmly in sharing everything with my future spouse. None of that keeping it to myself, because it's no longer mine alone. #2: I'm actually beginning to become content in my singleness. Not thrilled about it, but I'm actually finding peace with it and in the Lord. #3: I can be a bit emotional or emotionally immature. I have a bit of a temper, but I'm learning peace and patience in it. I don't hold grudges though or avoid people because I'm angry with them. That's just childish. #4: I do have deep seated regrets from my past and things I'm afraid to let my family know about me. But I'm learning to grow and let go. I wouldn't be ashamed or afraid to talk with my husband about my past and the things in it when I meet him. #5: I'm already consistently giving of myself to my family to the point of having nothing left. I won't have any problem giving to my husband. At least he would appreciate me. #6: The word divorce is not even in my vocabulary. I would never marry a man I wasn't one hundred percent certain was from God and by God. #7: I'm praying and longing in my heart for a mission marriage. I want to be married not to be happy, but because I want to go out into the world with my partner and fulfill our God ordained propose in this life. I know marriage is hard and no one is happy with it all the time. You can truly love it though and have true joy in it. It really is beautiful that way. I'm genuinely surprised about my answers on most of these questions. I'm amazed and thrilled that they were so positive for me. I believe I am, but what do you think? Am I ready for marriage?

You are not to remarry unless there was unfaithfulness. If you divorce without this then you cause each other to be adulterers for life. You can only remarry that same first person you divorced. God Bless you. Repent and have faith on The Lord Jesus Christ.

Praise God...Thanks for all the info...it's truly appreciated...Marriage is just supposed to make people more like God...nothing else outside that...I got that conviction recently and to be honest, it kinda sobered me up... now more than ever, as I go through life, I'm, slowly but surely, earnestly seeking and learning to do what the Lord wants me to ...with consistently...I believe this is what HE wants for every aspect of our lives...truly, our lives are not our own...
