And to think that The Fab Four just got in the studio and simply sang this song with their natural and fabulous talent...
@robd13293 жыл бұрын
Exactly...they did not have any singing coaches or music theory. They just sang naturally what they felt! Thats talent...especially for the rush they were in during those days!

@@emiliomontesdeocagonzalez681 You caught that uh? AND it is AMAZING how very emphatic they get . they just walked in and did it ... It does NOT take an iota of credit to The Boys because at the end it was nailed
@emiliomontesdeocagonzalez6813 жыл бұрын
@@mickavellian I mean, too many people says GM doesn't deserve the '5th Beatle' title, but they were able to explore further and do their experiments only 'cause Martin allowed AND helped them to achieve their goals, I'm not saying they could've not make it without him, but he was one of the keys to their success. He was responsible for harmonies, strings/orchestral arrangements and the overall producing skills he had. Many tried to replicate the Boys' art but everyone lacks a George Martin-level producer who can do wonders to music like he did
@cowsongs3 жыл бұрын
None of the Beatle songs just "came off" that easily. They played those songs hundreds and hundreds of times together before they even recorded an album. And even after their initial albums, they sometimes did dozens of takes on a song. That's not a knock. I'm just pointing out that they probably sat together grinding on these "This Boy" harmonies just like this before they got them sharp enough to be like they are on the record.

John, Paul and George sure had naturally born talent! Im sure they had to do it fast back in their early days ready to record. I doubt George Martin had the patience to tell them it was being not sung correctly as in this video. Being on the road so much must have made them hit makers on the go!
@robd13293 жыл бұрын
..that is true. Back then GM did not have the patience for a new upcoming rock band! Goes to show what talent they had!
@janefrancis23214 ай бұрын
He was a perfectionist as they all were in their way. They would have rehearsed this over and over until they were happy with it. Natural talent sure. But hard work too. This song is too difficult to sing if you just improvise it.

When the harmonies are perfect, and doesn’t always happen, but when the harmonies are perfect, sometimes it will sound as if there are more singers than there actually are.

Please remember the Beatles frequently double-tracked, their own voices singing these songs, so it really DID sound like there were more voices, because they were double-tracked a lot, on some of their songs...

Sounds great. My only complaint is minor, which is the low part needs to dominate the mix more, to capture the magic of that masterpiece of harmony. Naturally the higher parts will be sung louder, so if he gets closer and takes advantage of the proximity effect of the microphone that should compensate. You are a very patient man, btw. But by the end the reward is there. Thanks. Some friends and I spent a lot of time trying to get that right, so it was a pleasure to watch.

This is exactly what a good choral rehearsal would cover. When singing a diphthong, always delay the transition to just before the end of the note. Always. I expect that the Fab Four picked that up in the cathedral choirs of Liverpool.
@beatlessteve10102 жыл бұрын
What is very impressive to me is first of all breaking down the individual harmonies and each part must hold his harmony and not attempt to drift into the melody or in another singers part, but most of all that your singers primary language is not even English, so this is absolute dedication and most of all ...love for the music, very inspiring...congratulations!!

I know from my own experience that ALL the times I was taking music in School, and singing every Sunday in Church Choirs, listening, listening, to ALL kinds of music, even as far back as the 15th century, really helped me develop a knowledge that I would have never attained, without all this hard work.. If you do this long enough, you come to realize Why there are at least 4 parts to harmony, and you learn yours and have to sing it without being influenced by the other 3 parts... Just do it a lot, and it becomes so much easier... Learning to Read music is also a huge help with this... There is the sheet music for perhaps ALL these Fabulous Boy's songs, out there too... :)

“He’ll” still sounded too Italian - Italians speaking English will say “heel” as in the bottom of your shoe, when it is closer to “hill”. The short vowel there is harder to vocalize on pitch but if they are trying to sound like they are not singing in a second language the vowel sounds are key.

Some few years ago I have commented that the Beatles‘ „This boy“ was played in basic harmony combination of D - bm - E (major not minor) - and A! Listen to „ The Beatles - This boy ( original video)“. Try to play your guitar with it, and when you come to the chord E, you will hear clearly the „g# string“ of George’s guitar.
