True! I’m 26 and lived across the country from my family for 6 years until last year. I was super bitter about moving back “home,” but now I’ve never been happier. I had my adventure and I think I’m going to settle and stay here close to family and friends. I had a few friends go through the same and now we’re all back home and it’s great having such a big support system

You’ll have your own home that you’ll own in Utah plus be near your brother and sister in law and friends there. You can still rent a place in Hawaii for several months in the year. You’ll figure it out. Get your surgery, get settled in your new house then decide what you want to do or when you want to go back to Hawaii.

As a former military wife, I understand how hard it is to leave someplace that has become home. I felt the exact same way when I had to leave Puerto Rico for Germany. I cried for weeks, missing the island and the people but Germany soo became home and came to love the country and the people. It also gave me a chance to travel Europe and see places and experience history up close and personal. Leaving your little piece of paradise is going to be change, but you will closer to your fam and Jack and Sunny will get more time with grandmas and grandpa's, which is always a great thing. It's not like you are moving to Antarctica. You will be moving to someplace that was home once before. Besides, there are plenty of flights back and forth. You get an itch to surf, hop a plane and you are on your way!! The one thing that I don't envy is having to move with 2 little ones. Having done that myself, make sure you are stocked up on patience because you are gonna need it. If I can make a suggestion, take the kids to Utah and have g-ma/g-pa take care of them so that you can get everything done and moved. It will be much less stressful that way, trust me on this.

Moving is tough, especially a big move. We moved late last year from Florida to Montana. They couldn’t be any more different. Relocating to a place doesn’t have to be forever though. Best wishes!

Currently another family channel began dealing with a pedophile stalker. They pulled their children out of school and relocated across the country. The stalking has increased. Tragically their primary income is from social media and they are in terrible situation. Three children are in their teens with the others about to be. The children need private security, which it appears the family cannot provide. The channel itself is at a standstill. Very frightening situation. Unlike actual celebrities, with several million dollar incomes. In reality it is considered child exploitation to depend on your children as your primary content and source of income. I do hope that this family is able to make changes, before it is too late. Once in the internet, nothing can actually be deleted.

My family and I just moved from California-right on the beach just like you- to Vermont so I know what you’re going through and you have all my prayers and sympathy for the crazy mix of emotions you’re experiencing and the uncertainty about this decision!! It’s completely natural that you will miss Hawaii because you’ve had 2 incredible kids and your entire married life there and made so many awesome memories along the way! It will take some time but Utah will start to feel like home- especially once you actually get to move in to your house! I’m sure that you will build a new community of friends who will grow to feel like family and you’ll be close to family! Lastly, cheesy as it sounds, “home” really is where your loved ones are so, as long as you have each other, you will always be home. Wishing you the very best of luck with packing and with your travels! Have an amazing time in Australia- can’t wait to see what you guys get up to!! PS- you might already know this but snowboarding is quite similar to surfing (but obviously without the risk of sharks or drowning😉) and Utah has some of the best snowboarding spots in the world! You may not be able to go to the beach in Utah, but it has other amazing outdoor activities to offer!!

Gosh I can't get over how beautiful Sunny is! I know we all expected her to be blonde, but it looks bronze. Very pretty and she looks exactly like Jack! They are both so sweet. I'm so sorry you guys are going through a hard time leaving Hawaii (especially since it's been home for 7 years!), but on the bright side, you can always go back to Hawaii! It's not forever, just try and remember it that way. They have the same big eyes, same sweet smile, same button nose, same little cheeks, etc… They look just alike, minus the hair color. But even their hair is alike, minus the color. It’s very fine, but lots of it. Looks so soft when they play with it, or when it’s blowing in the wind and their bed heads look alike too. The two of them are so similar, minus the hair color. And obviously, both of them are soo precious, cute as can be, so sweet, and both of them have the most adorable little personalities. ❤❤❤❤❤

As someone living in Canada I cannot believe you’re leaving Hawaii which seems like paradise, but Utah also seems extremely nice, and I’m sure it will make every visit back to Hawaii more sweet! Ps: we made a similar decision (moving away from a place we loved with amazing friends to be close to family and afford a house) and it’s been so much better than we imagined. The move was the hardest part, but worth it in the end.

Moving from somewhere that you love is hard, no matter where that is. There's going to be a grieving process for you. Do embrace your new home and life. I grew up in California by the beach but last year we were called to move to Utah. We left most of our family to come here. At least you are moving back to family. With things getting as crazy as they are that’s a good thing. Now just hoping our family will join us up here.

Yes, it will be both very different and very difficult, but having grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins on a daily basis for Jack and Sunny will be so good for all of you and the Utah fam. Have a great time in Australia!!! We'll be watching.

I had to make a similar decision a few years ago. I found it helpful to list the pros and cons of leaving v’s staying. It did help to see it all written down. I realized then that the pros for leaving were way more important than the ones for staying (even tho there were more). It was hard in the first few months as I missed my friends and the small town life. It soon became apparent tho that I’d made the right decision. Even after 30 odd years I still miss living in the small village at times but I know my family and I wouldn’t have had the same job, house and study opportunities plus family close by if I had stayed. Best wishes to all of you im sure it Will be good for you to be close to family. Its hard to leave but life is changing and we must all make choices and even if we stay there Will still be changes others leave new arrive. Its life and we must choose what is best at a certain time. But leaving doesnt mean goodbye its easier to travel than ever and its mostly a matter of keeping in touch with those we want to keep in our life and there are so many ways to do that these days. ❤

Honestly, I would move to any place I had to if I could be closer to my mom and dad… I lost mom in 2019 and then dad in 2020. Your kids will thank you later in life for giving them the time to make those memories with there grandparents and other family members. I miss them every day and I look back at the time I was away and wish I would have come back sooner.
