this is true, I have a family friend who's now retired in his old age, when he was a boy his parents were killed by Japanese; he survived because some Malay family sheltered him and gave him a Malay name to blend in, he now has his Chinese name back. While it's fun having a laugh at this parody do also acknowledge this has happened.

@@RonLarhz 1) I was reflecting your attitude, if you think I'm triggered that's because you were triggered first (for some weird reason). 2) You think adults can't get triggered? Do you even know what triggered means? 3) I didn't have to be straight forward, most people still knew what I was saying, apparently you didn't and you think I don't know what "gay" is. Yeah I know lots of kids are on KZbin but most kids already know what gay is so it's not an excuse, is it? Did I really have to write out "oh those two are acting super gay!" Nope. But somehow you just had to come at me and assume I'm a kid. Again, chill. What the hell made you so mad you gotta attack me for no reason? Btw, let's not bring the actual actors into this. Ben already proposed to his gf. He and Hirzi can act as gay as they want in their vids but don't push those personalities onto them irl. Please respect them.

I'm a Peranakan from Indonesia but still found this quite amusing! It reminds me of the story of one Chinese Indonesian; Mochtar Riady (Lie Mo Tie 李文正). In his hometown of Malang, East Java, there was an association for Hinghwa Chinese descendants called 福興會 (Fu Xing Hui), which sounds like 復興會 (Fu Xing Hui). The latter being a Japanese resistance group in China. So when the Japanese arrived in Malang and heard about this Hinghwa group, they mistakenly captured 60 of the association's members and imprisoned them (including Riady's father).

@@zhaohan8581 Actually I'm Chinese Indonesian myself and speak three kinds of Chinese. So... no. It depends which province they're from, how old they are, how many resources they can access (wealth), and family lineage (peranakan vs totok). Indonesia is very regionally segregated, so it's almost impossible to generalise. Just compare the natives of Bali and Maluku for example and you will see both groups are vastly different (religion, culture, language, appearance) and you rarely see one in the other's territory. Likewise, Chinese Indonesians are different across the country/age levels/socioeconomic classes, etc.
