I dont understand the "Sennheiser has good QC" point when it comes to their IEMs. Has anyone seen the user reviews for their IE300 on Amazon, Reddit, etc ? The failure rate seems just as bad as any chi-fi product Ive ever seen

@@thickvinyl not really we have chifi authorized reseller here ...and easy to claim the warranty 😉 that true for high end iem ...the reseller gonna help it to send it back to china and get it fixed but for cheapo bellow 500$ ...u get brand new iem 😆

Well, it can be a survivorship bias. People with bad experiences tend to give more ratings and comments because of dissatisfaction, while people with good experiences just don't care about the review part since their gear is just working fine. I'm not a Sennheiser user, though (and have several chifi like moondrop, cca, kz, and qkz stuffs), but from my peers and known community, Sennheiser is pretty good with their build quality.

@@thickvinyl Yea, for Sennheiser I would just go to my local dealer and replace under warranty,but anything that's sent from China goodluck, I havent even got a refund once on alliexpress although I proven iems aren't working and got a rule from alliexpress control guy. The shop simply didn't refund. But that's the risk we take.

@@BadGuyGoodAudioReviews I will have to disagree, every company is prone to QC nowadays I did have issues on my ie600 (left driver playback at 10 percent volume out of the blue ) got it replaced no questions asked, but no reason as to why it just stopped provided by them. On the other side, my modded blons still sound great after years of tossing them around. Sure i have other sennheiser gear which still goes strong but still....

They have to offer competitive sound quality in order to have a chance against chi-fi today. It seems they care more about build, comfort and sells the brand which won't work for most enthusiast who seeks for pure sound and doesn't blind buy stuff. Non enthusiast people will still be buying no matter how the sq is on these known brand iems tho. I'm just hoping to see good iems from brands like sennheiser without sacrificing tuning nor the sound quality while they offering their trusty brand to us.

@@BadGuyGoodAudioReviews Plus better return/replace/warranty policies. But then again, with how cheap most of the CHIFI stuff is these days, you can just buy a new pair anyway. Looking at the price, I just dont' see this as a solid value proposition. For $160 I can get 2 Arias or 8 Holas, both of which maybe don't have the best QA/QC but one of the 8 pairs of Holas will be good enough to last for some time and the Frequency Response graph is vastly superior to the IE200.

If you look at amazon (and not only amazon us, but most local amazons for other countries) the review section is flooded with negative opinions regarding QA/QC for IE300/600/900. Sennheiser with this new IE lineup made a propriety MMCX connction version of their own. It's so fragile many people complain about loosing sound in one earpiece or both. It's a common issue with those IEMS so the quality control isn't that great after all.

I’ve always felt that the Sennheiser stuff that I’ve tried has been nice, but never a good value. And I’m always skeptical when big brands try the value play because it either ends up as “value compared to our normal prices” or “value just because it has our name on it”.

The only exception I've seen to this is products like the HD6XX offering basically the 650 at a now mostly reasonable market price. Aside from that and maybe some of their microphones you hit the nail on the head with nice but never a good value. If this was an IE600 but slightly trimmed down for a reasonable price I think they would have had something, but as it stands I'm more interested in where planar drivers with better QA go and the prices from Moondrop/7Hz/Tin seem to be a lot more in line with what they can deliver. I believe Sennheiser runs the risk of becoming a premium/luxury brand at this point as opposed to a studio tool that's expensive due to build quality, performance, and support (Factors worth paying for if you view things as a 20 year investment, not a consumer good) Their microphones still seem to be more reasonable when comparing to their competitors, but their IEM and headphone products have left me wanting (Either a different price or better performance and tuning for the price premium)

Hope that those Sennheiser stuffs you have tried do not include the HD600 series because....lol, no way. You have to shoot above the $800-$1000 on other headphones to match or surpass the overall package they offer at $250-$300

Thanks for the sound impressions! These are more important than the graph in some cases, subjective is as important as objective IMO, you just have to understand where it's coming from. Imaging and technicalities are such broad and vague terms that we could probably do without them, TBH, but some people might find it too much trouble to list the tracks and specific moments to describe them. Honestly, my prediction is that these will sell like hot cakes due to the Sennheiser brand name. There's a reason a lot of people outside of the hobby use Sony and/or Sennheiser - big brand equals better quality and longevity. My first properish IEM was Sennheiser, but I wouldn't consider myself a fanboy. I'm quite curious to see other reviews in IE200 as well, maybe will pick it up sometime in the future, but with the state of Chi-fi releases, I'm not sure if it's really worth it. Still curious though...

Good morning from here ( 🥶Toronto) they’re retailing for around $200 CDN ..so it puts it into a very competitive price point . I’ve been running my OG Olina these days..( Final E’ tips and balanced) ..and it still stands as a favorite in my IEM’s stable. Now, if I want super smooth and chill with great bass ..I’ll run Crin’s Midnight’s. My Sen’s 650’s ( on tubes) are great ..but as for technical innovation..they still don’t have a planar headphone. A great company..that has to take a next step ..or even they will get passed by.

I taped the nozzle with electrical tape... fixed the lacking bass in the ie200. Hits hard now. Worth a try if you've got em - it's more reliable than the "seal" made by the stem of the ear tip.

Couldn't agree more about the QA! Got the Tin T3 Plus a month ago. It kicked the shit out of my Library.... Until it didn't. The Connection on the IEM's itself just stopped gripping. Changed the cord, emailed CS, and cried about I guess. I've Had some misses with ChiFi. I've Have had a ton of hits though! Excellent video brother. Oh also I'm loving the Kahn! Great tuning.

Music, audio, gear are all passions of mine and so trying to describe the sound is something I am really trying to get better at and I'm sure I have a long way to go. I've had Sennheiser HD25 for DJ-ing they did the job well for mixing, I also had some of their IEMs a few years back which were ok but Chi-Fi has come along way since then. The quality of sound we're getting now for the money is really good and I've been lucky that every set I've bought from China has been good.

I'm not going to hide that I don't always agree with you. For example, I love the Oracle MKII but maybe it's because I listen to quieter music. But I agree 100% about the Sennheiser IE200. They sound thin, lifeless, lacking mass. The only thing they have is a soundstage. The cable in these headphones is a misunderstanding. Having such money, I would choose Olina SE anytime and anywhere. I don't understand the fascination with these IEMs. Another thing is ergonomics, to fit them well to the ear I had to sweat a lot. Respect for honesty! Seriously!

I admit, I would seriously consider the IE 200 specifically for Sennheiser's QA, as well as for the smaller shell design. That said, the Sennheiser cable does concern me, and competition from chi-fi is fierce now. If chi-fi ever does manage to get its QA problems in order, Sennheiser would be in trouble.

Always enjoy the deep dive it helps to understand tuning to performance. Off topic I just recieved the Stellarius, I don't think reviews were harsh enough, so I went for a 3mm tip and had a screen from Soundpeats H1 that came in their set. Still needs EQ but you can't add what it doesn't have, more base than needed and mid highs are realistic not over shot. I am a happy boy, now for the cable.

I just saw someone saying ie200-ie300-ie600-ie900 etc having the same driver. Good thing someone cleared that up.

Sennheiser claims the transducer is the same but they use different techniques and chambers to get different sounds. I believe initially Sennheiser said or alluded to them being the same driver. EDIT -- the core driver / transducer still appears to be the same from what Sennheiser claims. It'll be interesting to see what's inside if someone opens up the different IE models.
