Eh not really true. Like lang lang said, anybody can play the piano. I really believe that if you have the right will and you practice enough you can play a piece that you want, at any age over 3. Playing with passion is different though, and personally I don’t know if one can develop it through practice, it’ll probably just come to them.

Lang Lang is correct. When you play music, you must not lock yourself in a dark room. Open up. Your main focus should be the song, not the keyboard. Improvise the melody to resemble various events in life; like breathing, getting angry, and etc. Also, when playing masterclass, slow down dammit.

@jessewang_xj4 жыл бұрын
People criticising the kid for 'playing without emotion' or 'playing too quickly' need to shut up and grow a pair of ears. Do you even know what tempo the Fantaisie-Impromptu is supposed to be played at? The playing in the middle section is expressive and the rubato employed is tasteful, not to mention the good voicing of the melody. It's not a perfect interpretation by any means but if it were an adult playing, you lot wouldn't be making these kind of uninformed comments, they just make you (the commenter!) look stupid.
@ggwhynot4524 жыл бұрын
I think you're a bit misinformed and were trying to vent your anger at the time. The Fantasie Impromptu itself is not supposed to be played at such a fast speed, in fact when chopin composed it, he intended for the focus to be placed on the emotion, not the speed. While I acknowledge that the child is very good for her age, there is no denying the lack of emotion in her playing and failure to express her feelings sufficiently, so perhaps you should be the one doing some self reflection here on your true knowledge on this piece, which must be close to 0 in order to make such an insanely stupid, idiotic and misinformed comment.
@jessewang_xj4 жыл бұрын
@@ggwhynot452 Hilarious you say that; I've played the piece myself. I have a recording up on my channel, if you'd like to listen. It's not perfect by any means, and I wouldn't say I've played it much better than the kid has here. Have you listened to the tempo of, say, Rubinstein's or Yundi Li's recording of it? The kid isn't perfect of course. He's a developing musician, and the dynamic shaping could be improved. But there is clearly evidence of attention to musical detail - you can hear the accents shifting from the thumb to the pinky in the B section of the fast part, for example.
@ggwhynot4524 жыл бұрын
@@jessewang_xj I have also played the piece myself; the point that I am trying to make is that the kid should not be so sacrilegious, as quoted from TwoSetViolin. Sorry as I came across as offensive. P.S. I performed it in 2016.

Lil Piccolo Then what is the point of playing music?
@rozanfaust29673 жыл бұрын
Its an impressive performance, but there was no emotion in there but playing at that speed, i think i can’t do it as a pianist. The only point i can think of with people who plays music without emotions is them only trying to show off/flex..

Skills u can learn, notes you can keep on practise. Dont just play piano. Go on watch a movie, go on listen to the wave, watch the tree leaves moving, flowers waving at you, feel yourself like water.

When I play the piano I usually play with a completely straight and barely move but I absolutely love playing the piano so just because the kid is playing with a straight face doesn’t mean they don’t love playing it just means they’re focused and moving bunch or smiling a lot might distract them
@jojoanggono3229 Жыл бұрын
I understand that most young players strive first for technical perfection, the expression will hopefully follow after that. I kind of like the way Lang Lang approach the piece. Also I heard a few play (not here) the soft part just a fraction slower to coax a few more tear drops from audience 😊

I am sure this kid got a real help from it ! Lang lang is often criticized and the kid may seem very nervous. But what he teached him was very interesting for a lot of ypung pianists. Look at the end ! "Good !" You don't recieve a master pianist's compliment everyday.. Maybe this one little lesson will give him the force to become a great pianist.

The most amazing is that he shows how the kid was playing exactly in the same way and shows as well the way that should be, and is impressive the difference! 🎹 👌🏾

I'm 13 and just started playing this piece. The fact that a 12 year old can reach this level is impressive! I could tell the kid was nervous at the beginning. I would be too.

I feel bad for the kid.... A lesson in front of a thousand people only to be said that he/she plays without feeling from a man who has played for how long, 30 years, and is one of the best atm? In my experience that part develops after the puberty for most people

lo lind and its pretty ironic too. I love lang lang but it can be said that he likes to show off a little. Which defeats the point of putting emotions into a piece
@利威爾阿克曼6 жыл бұрын
This maybe a most important affect for the kid’s life .You are not serious enough to watch,Langland has also talked about the skills of playing piano. Pointing to your wrong things can benefit you.If the kid wants to be a professional pianist, he needs to know these things earlier. Maybe later when his skills are very fantastic, and no one point out the lack of emotion, then his piano way maybe not successful or more difficult.In addition,skills are linked by emotion.

Not trying to be a " smarty-pants", but Lang Lang said what I was thinking as the 1st youngster played. Invaluable advice , to make the music " sing" , with " light and shade". Fascinating. 😊💕🇬🇧⭐💕😊

He's so right. The music has an ebb and flow and the pianist needs to create that feeling of the ebb and flow, not just play it technically perfectly.

Reading comment gives the impression everyone is damn piano player. The girl is fantastic. She is only 12 and needs some fine tuning. I also love the way Lang Lang is passionate about what he wants to say. I think there is a little bit of language barrier here. Sometime he cannot find the best word to describe what he wants to say and uses body language to compensate. Those parts of his brain responsible for music works way faster than the parts controls his speaking.

Skill is not enough. It is the beginning. Play an instrument is to play the music. To make the music happen with the skill. When I was a beginner, my teacher was teaching me the music. This 12 year old has this level of skill but still don't have the feel of music.

A very amazing Lang Lang... 13:44, chopin didnt call it fantasie. Fontana did, for the marketing. However "where is the fantasie" is a spot on expression. BTW in the manuscript, 18:33 no forte. Chopin's MS is very interesting, E.g., 19:20 is the first "forte", holding all the way to bar 25, and BTW in bar 25 it says a tempo, but not piano, so you can wonder, did chopin intend the second time to be in forte? I dont think so, because of the very long poco a poco cresc in bars 19-33, to forte. For this you must begin in piano, or? Also in 19:20, 3 little diminuendos every half bar, as in 23, a sigh motive, in all respects. About left hand in section A (19:33) From bar 5, a prominent melody in the left hand thumb, suggesting that the right hand is in his part an ornamentation of this simple beautiful high tenor melody. Nice edition in IMSLP Josef Friedrich edition. Or if you find the Koenemann edition, preludes and impromptus, 1997, Koeln-Budapest, now out of print.

That was fantastic. It is not easy to teach like this. I know. Because I teach in similar style. One needs to be grown up to understand this concept of feel and flow. I had master lessons in the past and I only understand this now.
