Check out Allen Iverson’s emotional letter to Kobe
@JackTorrance-j6g10 ай бұрын
Iverson is and will always be the most naturally talented individual to ever play in the NBA. In his prime he could step away from the game for a year not even touch a basketball but as soon he stepped back on the court he could pick up right where he left off.
@Xenon-h9z9 ай бұрын
Love AI, but this is ridiculous. Oscar Robertson probably more naturally talented, MJ, Charles Barkley (if he'd had Kobe's psychotic drive he probably would have been close to MJ), and arguably Larry Bird (tough to compare those two). Possibly Magic as well. Dunno about Wilt, his natural athleticism was just something else.
@JackTorrance-j6g9 ай бұрын
@@Xenon-h9z what happened when MJ stepped away from the game to play baseball? He came back and wasn't as good as when he left until the next season. He had to get back into basketball shape then he went on to win 3 more championships. That's a prime example of what I'm talking about
@docmadhattan9 ай бұрын
Pound for pound probably the toughest, had the most heart.
@Xenon-h9z9 ай бұрын
@@JackTorrance-j6g He was rusty for a few games. And yeah, he'd been getting into totally different shape for baseball. Someone being rusty for a bit doesn't prove they're not naturally talented. Basketball's team sport, and (it at least used to be) a complicated one. Iverson never took any long breaks from basketball either, so I'm not sure what you're talking about. Jordan also came in near the end of the season (17 games left).

These two guys were truly dominant in their era and there hasnt been another like them since they left. Nobody has had the size and physicality that Shaq had. They used to hack him 20-30x per game just to put him at the line bc they couldn't control him in the paint. Iverson could literally get any shot he wanted every single time down the court and he played every single minute like it was his last. Their might be PG's that pass, dribble, or shoot better now...but nobody will ever play with that much heart ❤️. He could put a whole team on his back and keep you in any game. Much respect to both.

Man just the sheer gratefulness he has. He is the guy who is just saying “I love this game and will play my heart out because this is better than anything else that can happen to me” and he’s just GRATEFUL. no ego, no pettiness, no hemming and hawing. He’s just grateful and loves the game because it’s joyful and he play his heart out. People praise Dame or Steven Adams for saying it’s just a game but AI was the original perspective. They hating on AI for saying essentially the same thing. The fact that AI keeps track of everybody today shows how much he’d just DIE to get on the court today.

I love AI being on podcasts and interviews and it shows so much since the all the smoke interview that I think AI is realizing how much the NBA community loves him and his legacy and they respect the hell out of him.

Tell the moderator or host, whatever he is, to stop ALWAYS cutting the guest off and let them talk.. nobody wants to hear him talk all the time.

I'm born and raised in Chicago. Seen MJ play numerous times in person and on tv but Iverson has always been my favorite player.

AI at 5'11 has the same amount of scoring titles as KD who is 6'10. Crazy. AI was built different. Fast as lightening, underrated passer, played the passing lanes like no other etc... The NBA truly was not the same when he left. Pound for pound, one of the GOATs. I can't imagine anyone 6ft or under achieving what he did.

So blessed to be alive during the podcast era. It’s as close as you can get to meeting someone without actually meeting them. By the time they are over you know pretty well if you vibe with them or not. And I BIG VIBE with A.I. ❤️❤️❤️

AI stayed out in Philly all night his entire career and still was a killer on the court. He was him for our city. No one will ever be as entertaining to watch like bubba chuck.
