Thank you so much for these videos -- I'm looking into getting a Corn Snake had had no idea about bioactive tanks for reptiles before, and these are such a beautiful and healthy way to keep snakes, and I love how they're mini ecologies! It makes having a snake seem so much more enjoyable!

I would love an in-depth guide on moss. I've never been able to keep it alive.

I just got a Kages enclosure and the substrate + additives from you. Still studying for assembly and composition so this is perfect timing!

Thanks for the great video! I would love for you to cover an arboreal build (like over 3 or 4ft) and how to properly light and heat for optimal plant growth and animal comfort as well as plant options for various growth heights and placements. I'd also love a video on your take at a DIY background.

Hey, I'd like in depth guide on moss, it's the only plant I can't keep alive in my enclosure. Don't know if it's the water I use,, lighting, or something else...

For what it’s worth, I can’t keep moss alive either (other than Java moss)… but I do have some salamander enclosures using plastic bins in my shed and the moss thrives. It gets some light from a window and the ventilation is on the sides. My takeaway is low light and high humidity 🤷♂️

Could you elaborate more on what you meant by mycrorrhizae at 6:42?
@coinfeather9137Күн бұрын
Mycorrhizae are fungi that have a symbiotic relationship with plant roots, they basically allow the roots to more efficiently absorb nutrients and water from the soil.

Can you explain exactly why having bat guano in a substarte bad? What about it makes "your critter sick"?

You see on FB & IG soooo many “themed” enclosure that are made to satisfy human egos & not the animals. It’s unfortunate & an inconvenience for the reptiles miserably living in it.

For a while, when I wanted to build my reptile room I was gonna theme every enclosure differently. After doing more research, I came to the conclusion that that would look good to me but not be the best for the animals. So I'm going for functionality now n

Why no drainage layer for tropical setups
@abfowler850822 сағат бұрын
I am unsure but i am guessing all the moisture you add to it will go down to the drainage layer which may not be the best if your animal needs humidity and most tropical animals need a lot of humidity

@ that was the move to do, maybe the sitting stagnate water. You think it be ok to drain excess water, wonder if it’s ok if there is a drain installed to remove the water.

Wish I'd seen this a couple weeks ago. Ah well. Also wish I could listen to these during work because there is a lot of good info. Unfortunately, the music gets overwhelming every time.
