The part that hits me the hardest (not at the first watch though) is "his example just exaggerated versions of me, him, she, you". What I also loved is how he tired it back to MG 1 and 2 at the very end, with the rain (rain, rain, rain, rain, the storm it comes our way) and the trigger of the money game

I love this one - Ren and Sam both did an amazing job here. The 1st Money Game talks about government and society, and the 2nd one talks about finance (business economics in a nursery rhyme!) This 3rd part makes the story really personal. Ren invites us in to meet this little boy at a point when he's innocent, full of so much potential, and then the Money Game corrupts him. We still have empathy for him, even after seeing everything he's done, because we understand where he came from.

The second one, which is phenomenal, shows us how the government manipulates us by uncovering their agenda and shows us how they operate. This one I do like better though, simply because Ren just keeps getting better with time. He's a genius and the goat without selling his soul to the devil. I honestly believe that eminem sold his soul to become a goat, but that's another topic for another day.

I like how you can be a fan and support Ren and maintain your opinion respectfully. I was gut punched by this one, honestly. I have a 6 year old son, and more than anything, it made me so sad for the boy that jimmy was. All he wanted was to make his dad proud.. and never got to hear that. Ren has a way of making his characters feel very real. He also said that the dad represented the most insidious parts of the American dream and I thought that was absolutely a mind fuck.

I really enjoy your reactions. Because Ren does link some songs it can be too easy to associate links that aren't really there, don't worry, we've all been there wanting to truly deep dive into the storytelling... Ren's tracks are often best once you've listened to them a few times and taken time to think through each talking point. We all pick up particular aspects that we relate to, having reactors and us as listeners discussing our own interpretations is a great way of us again collaborating and seeking to understand from all perspectives ❤

I loved all 3 but in different ways. They all evoke the same message all in thought provoking ways. First one conceptual, 2nd one straight to the point where the message is very clear to most and very catchy and great sonically. But the 3rd one for me was spectacular visually, sonically and conceptually. He said it was his most ambitious peice and I can see and feel that. It felt like a play/musical/movie. This one for me was the pinnacle. However what each person takes might be different. I think most will agree this was very entertaining.

Ren does a lot of call backs but you are right, there is no connection with James. Lesson 1 was a general overview of our place in the money game. Lesson 2 takes a deep dive into how the money game works. Lesson 3 takes a deep dive into how an individual can get lost in the money game. They work best when watched as a trilogy because the theme of the mirror and self-reflection stays fresh in the mind, and the fact that Jimmy could be me or you is more prominent. The them of the killing of the self also becomes more obvious. "The solution is.... Everything is subject to change". We always have the choice to kill off the part of our life that is damaging, from ingesting things we shouldn't, right up to making drastic life choices that harm many people. While Jimmys father was the influence, Jimmy always had the power of free will if he so chose it.

First - Love your content and reactions! I actually love all three parts, however, I feel like part 3 is about showing what happens if we buy into what he was talking about in parts 1 and 2. I too thought about a link between the Tale of Jenny and Screech - Jimmy and James - maybe two sides of the same coin? James was stealing (money creates killers) and Jimmy was doing the same in a different way. I also love the ending with the rain - Ren mentioned in an interview that he "showing" the chorus. "Rain, Rain, Rain....".

The money game series in general is a great showcase of Rens many talents. The ideals and insight I find in Rens music is so refreshing! He not only seems to see that our species is sick, like many others, but seems to genuinely want to make it better and believes it’s possible. I feel with more like minded individuals we could really bring about the change so many of us are longing for. I think deep down many of us see the problems of the world and just simply lack the know how to fix it. Perhaps we stand on the precipice of a great awakening… or our demise. In my heart of hearts I hope we see the path before us as a chance to choose a better way.

Incredible masterpiece and a valuable lesson to all of us! It basically shows that greed can corrupt…if you let it. I personally don’t have a problem with Jimmy’s story up until he turns 18 and his dad tells him to take all he can because the world don’t give a damn. That’s the lesson Ren is trying to convey, I believe, don’t take all you can and be so selfish and greedy that is affects others negatively.

I see part 3 as the physical demonstration of 1&2. The chorus "rain rain rain rain The storm it comes our way" is physically rain in 3. In 1 he says that these bits of paper (money) turns a saint into a sinner a child into a killer. Part three demonstrates this literally. There's more there but that's a start ❤

I know exactly what you are saying and I get the same vibe. I think the similarities are the feeling that the song leaves you with. Both are tragedies, and they leave you feeling a little hopeless. In a way you are right as it’s society that made Jenny and screech the way they were. This is again the result of a father’s abuse. We all play the game without thinking for ourselves. It’s time to wake up! And stop playing the money game! Or following what our parent tell us to do without thinking for yourself is this right or do I think no I want to be kind compassionate and help people around me while I help myself and family. Connecting MG3 to the tales is absolutely natural. He literally started by doing the “oooooh” from the beginning of Violet’s tale.. I think to warn us that this would be a tragic tale also. Plus the “It’s such a damn shame”.. I’m pretty sure Ren knew precisely what he was doing by putting them in there. Your spidey sense was tingling because it was supposed to. ❤

Also, the idea that history repeats itself for both James and Jimmy. Neither found the way out, and shared the same demise of death after the internal demons took over. In comparison, both stories show that it doesn't matter if you're raised in poverty or wealth, you still have the potential to suffer from the harmful impact of family history.

I think your gut is right on this one. I think the subtle clues to this being a companion piece to the Tales are deftly placed, and point us to the dangers of history repeating itself. Jimmy and James: both are victims of accidents of birth who turned villains and then died violent deaths. Ren's a disruptor and seeing and feeling the power of the pattern gives us half a chance of disrupting it ourselves. He breaks the narrative open through the fourth wall and lays out a warning and a solution.

It’s a multifaceted work. What parents do to their kids, what choices adults make because of their parents. He takes the Moneygame and reduces it to a single life…but multiply that in our society and it’s where we are at. All of them are morality tales from different perspectives. Your comment about being born into a society with predetermined rules is actually a reflection of this video. What did our parents teach us? What do we pass down to our children? Do we focus our kids on the Moneygame or want them to be better? Humanity still has a long, long way to go.

Ren is theatre, a true craftsman and BARD extraordinaire. This was also filmed in a Secret Garden Party location. Yamaha donated the piano for the shoot. Chef's kiss of a song/performance. You know when Ren says "Let me tell you a tale" that you are in for a show...... Money Game 1 - Ren gave us eyes to see, Money Game 2 - he gave us economics in a nursery rhyme, Money Game 3 - Ren gives us a story to show us the effects of MG2. Hopefully you say MG2 on the Sky Arts stage.....MG2 at a different level.

I also felt connections to Tales of Jenny/Screech/Violet, whether intentional or not (although I think everything Ren does is intended) it evokes thought….. to me it showed how your destiny can be planned out almost before you are born depending on the input from the moment you are born. Jimmy/Screach we’re both products of their environment. It’s such a shame!

And Screech is another James. There are connections, intergenerational nature vs nurture. Ren connects us with damaged protagonists, giving us enough to sympathise. The main connection I see is no human is truly evil. In Ren's live concert version of Tales he says we're all only one or two steps away from becoming a "villain" as bad as Screech. Anything we can do to help others rather than isolating others is a good step on the journey.

When he's talked about his songs, he's often talked about how these characters are in the same "cinematic universe". They are not necessarily directly related. Also, he views one and two and the explanation of system and his problems with it. Part 3 is the personification of those systems.

Honestly, with all the reactions I've watched Part 3 has really grown on me. Part 2 is still my favorite though, I've had it on repeat and I know all the words 😋 While it's not quite as catchy, I think the video for this one is just incredible, and I was really impressed with Ren's acting ability. From a musical perspective Money Game 1 & 2 are my preferred songs, however, all three songs have deep and powerful messages that I totally relate to. The piano in MG3 is also beautiful. MG3 has a personal connection because my father was like the father in the story; brainwashed to believe in selfishness, money, and power. He tried to get me to follow him down that path from a very young age. Giving me Machiavelli's The Prince to read when I was eight years old. Well, it was different from what I was expected, at this point I should realize that Rèn is unpredictable and go into each track only expecting genius. It was captivating but I’m kinda leaning more towards 2. The story writing and his ability to continue to be the one take master is unmatched. I love his music but think he has a future entertaining us in other forms of the entertainment industry. I thought the new album was awesome, but a little dark. I hope he got everything off his chest. The world needs a more hopeful Ren. His talent though, undeniable and I’m all in. Thanks for all your reactions, super enjoyable. ✌🏻👊🏻

I think the world need Ren the way he is. No one need to like everything he does. He just does what he is in his life to do. There are plenty of people on this planet and maybe you are the one to bring some for you hopeful messages? Or receive from someone else? I think it is important to take care of oneself and ones needs in this pretty challenging world, and Ren is just another fella. He wont be able to fit anyone but himself, hopefully. This album was exactly what I needed, so on behalf of the side of humanity that needed some of his songs more than air at the moment, I just wanted to make that clear. For me they are very hopeful. Someone who speaks out, reaching so many people.. finally. Most of Ren's music creations makes me feel so much love & healthy anger & hope. Sick Boi, Money Game pt2/3, Heretic, Hi Ren, Hunger, Suicide, Lost all faith, Dominoes, Humble etc.. So we are all different and I think that is just lifes beauty that we are ❤

A friend from England told me that the British media often includes the phrase "it's such a shame" when dealing with a tragic story. In much the same way the American media uses "thoughts and prays" as a heart felt sentiment but one that has become an almost cliche phrase due the our inability to have a meaningful dialogue about the underlying social and/or economic issues that created the possibility for said tragedy to occur.

Liked your thoughts. And yeah, you're not just imagining the echoes of Screech in there. Like, I don't think it's meant to be connected, at least story-wise, but there are definite parallels in terms of the way the storytelling is done and the general sound of it, so... yeah. I think my biggest complaint in it all is that while he clearly has an anti-capitalist message here, he's not on board (at least according to stuff he's said on a live stream from 9 days ago) with socialism or communism either, so... I somehow imagine it could be just that much more powerful if it was a more revolutionary message. Still, I celebrate the critique of the current status quo -- both from him, and from you regarding the relatively unchanged nature of the U.S. Constitution (13:08/13:19) -- I just would love to see it go even further. Well... he's young; here's hoping it will one day. ;)

Ren was in the money game (signed by Sony) but his illness took him out of it (lost his contrat) and the next person came along to fill his shoes. He then took a look in the mirror and got a glimps of how things reaaly are and saw the truth about the money game...

You're not totally off base. The beginning is very reminiscent of Violet's Tale, and of course "it's such a shame". Also, Hi Ren, is someone battling the negative voice in his head, rising up from a wheel chair, and coming to terms with himself, while this is someone battling the voice of his father in his head, ending up in a wheel chair and struggling to come to terms with his choices. Oh, and both Money Game 3 and Hi Ren are 9 minutes 19 seconds. I think that even if there's no real connection in each of these stories, they all co-exist in the Renoverse, and that makes them all connected.

Great visual. But how does this stand up as music? I don't see how Ren will get air time with this? Luckily for Ren, he's not chasing that. I sometimes believe that Ren will always be an underground artist, which is great by me. Though I now understand why many people I know don't get into Ren. I sometimes feel like it's an exclusive club, with so much hidden stuff, that keeping up is exhausting. I prefer Rens more vibing songs, then the RENagades fandom. Cheers for your thoughts.🙏💙

See, and I respect that and agree with this a bit. I do think at times, you get much more into the creative side of your talents than the exposure. Like I'm going to create just for me, but I'll create for you later sort of thing. I too agree and understand how it can be difficult, both sonically listening to this and the fandom haha. the only paralel that was intended that I could tel is the generational connection ,,, abuse and trauma come in many forms whether it be physical abuse , sexual abuse .. or emotional abuse such as a father driving his son to succeed and not giving him the approval he needs

For me, Jimmy in MG3 and Screech's story parallel each other only in that they are stories about how a life can lead to corruption. Jimmy's story is clear that he advantages from the start - whether his father's advice started good or not - but his "sins" led to corruption. Screech's life started and ended hard. Was Screech corrupt at the end? I'm not sure. He seemed remorseful when he ran to Patrick's house and was so confrontational with the cop that it's like he wanted to die. (I guess there's a parallel there too in that they both want out of life in the end). I'm not saying Screech didn’t deserve to go to jail, but I think he might've been rehabilitated (🙄 dumb word). I don’t have that empathetic view toward Jimmy.

No, no, you'll spot a number of references to previous work. Not just direct references either. You'll recognise snippets of melody, certain ways of pronunciation, certain phrases, and so on. Actually, Ren has specifically said the "damn shame" line was a direct reference to the Tale of Jenny. So we'll done that man! Personally, the goosebumps moment for me was the last line, sung in the same tune as in Part 1. . One of the amazing statistics about human development that always gets me is this: it took us around 6,000 years to get from the wheel to the automobile, and only about 60 to get from the Wright Brothers to Apollo 11.

Part one was ok for an introduction to money game. It was a bit simple - part 2 was my favourite musically and lyrically the message it gave. Part 3 was technical but lacking musically for me I wanted it to go more place even maybe a fast rap with the violins would have be cool

As far as a “song”, something that you’d listen to in your car or whatever… Money Game 2 is “better”, certainly. #3 is not something I’d bump in my car. #3, like Hi Ren, is a performance piece. It’s more a piece of art than our typical idea of a song. The minute you talked about money being an invention during a previous video, I knew you’d relate to this one. It’s the first thing I thought of.

What I think of most (besides the wisdom of the story, of course) during this piece is the astonishing amount of coordination, practice and perfection that went into getting all of that in one take. ASTONISHING! And not something the majority of artists would even consider doing. He’s the king of one takes. And I love that Ren uses his platform to passionately speak of his beliefs. He’s an exceptional human being who backs up that talk with his actions. Thanks for another great reaction. God willing, I’m off to dreamland. ☮️

I thought jenny and screech for a second on first listen, but no I like 2 on a musical level more. That said - rapping over a piano is amazing.
