Excellent tip for those trumpeters who live in apartments and have trouble with neighbors during the practice routine or people who can only do the routine at night! Priceless tip!

I've always used a metal straight mute. Of course, it has to be a metal mute so you can make it sizzle. Another great video, Aaron. Bravo!

Stephen Bottom for sure! The straight mute has always been a challenge for me to get it to sizzle... (I like that word BTW!)...like the harmon mute. As always, thank you for watching!

Wow, this will be a great diagnostic tool for my students...now I need to make harmon mutes for euphonium, and tubas 👍🏼

Trumpet is the sweetest brass instrument , always wanted to play it .....huuummm I wonder how I can make that a reality 🤩😜🎺

that's exactly how i found (and still find) my way to the resonant center. I prefer a practise mute. Just make it sound as loud as possible while playing softly. (y)

On a practice mute? that seems really hard. What kinda practice mute?
@bemi-ton5 жыл бұрын
@@TheBlackTrumpeter I use the Best Brass one. If you manage to catch the note in the center it starts to sizzle. You can immediately hear that and feel it on your lips.

When i put the mute on my trumpet it sounds a semitone up, why is that? Is It because is a bad quality mute?
@TheBlackTrumpeter4 жыл бұрын
No. It’s normal. 🙂 Just pull out your main tuning slide a bit. Then push it back to it’s normal position when the mute it out
