Hello, I have a question. Why don't you use slide 3 when you blow D? Do I not have to use it to blow fast phrases?

The passage is fast enough to where it doesn’t matter. As long as I can hear D in tune in relation to the notes around it, then D will be fine without the 3rd valve tuning slide.
