I received this mart oven about a month and a half ago. enjoy it very much. no problems with it. had upgraded from the smaller basics microwave oven. have the braille button overlay as well. don't use it much though. just use the ask alexa button or my voice with the 3rd generation echo dot. yep! highly recommend. p.s a completely blind user here. lol!

I watch your videos for ideas on products that my father can benefit from. I think this microwave would be a hit with him. The only downside is the size looks pretty big and he has an extremely small kitchen.

you can check out the amazon basic microwave, it's smaller and works with alexa. it's not a 4 in 1 like the smart oven though. yep. plus they don't seem to sale the smart oven anymore. yep.

Interesting product. I have a talking microwave and every button speaks. This new product would slow me down and frustrate me. I’m finding that although Alexa is great, as a totally blind person, I don’t want to rely on her totally. What happens when the wifi goes down? Everything comes to a halt. This smart oven doesn’t d enough to tempt me away from my normal oven, my normal air fryer and my talking microwave. I use my Amazon Dot as a kitchen timer and that’s as much as I need as a totally blind person. My convection oven is easily used by me with no adaptation. My air fryer is the same. Maybe in time, this Smart oven will be more user friendly for the blind and won’t need a braille overlay. I’m not a fan of devices which offer multi functions. I like to use by microwave at the same time as my oven or air fryer when I am cooking a full meal. I think this multi function oven would be a waste for me although the price is more than fair. The Royal National Institute for the Blind in the UK sell a talking microwave for £279. I think this is available on Amazon too. I am on my second one and the first one lasted 13 years. No 2 is now 8 years old. Great quality and value for money and every button makes clear announcements. I would recommend highly. Cheers Jane x

Great review! Thanks Sam. I got a good chuckle when Alexa didn’t give you the right answer because I go through that all the time, rephrasing things trying to find the right command or say it just the right way. Too bad it can’t be mounted over the stove as that is what we are currently in the market for. Would love to own one but I am sick of my current microwave taking up all of that precious counter space.

I haven’t found any reference to connecting to a google home hub. I’m thinking that since it’s made by Amazon, it probably will not. However, you get the Amazon echo for free so even if you don’t already have one, it’s OK.

HEY SAM. THIS IS A GREAT COMMODITY FOR THE BLIND, BUT YOU ALSO HAVE TO BE CAREFUL. I HAVE READ THAT IF YOU LEAVE THESE SMART OVENS PLUGGED IN OVER NIGHT, THEY WILL SET ITSELF TO 400 DEGREES IN THE NIGHT AND STAY ON. SO IF ANYONE GETS ONE OF THESE, PLEASE UNPLUG THEM BEFORE YOU GO TO SLEEP.

heads up, I added bump dots on the numbers of the keypad and the start and stop buttons. so you will be able to still access it that way in case the internet is acting funny and not working. lol. don't know why I don't see this smart oven on sale on amazon anymore.

I’m not sure but there’s got to be something out there. The nice thing about this one is you get the Amazon echo included for free. So even if you don’t have one already, you’ll be set.

Welcome to my phone nightmare every time I ask you a question and respond something else and only gets about 50% right I swear it’s getting worse not better. Years ago they used to have a dedicated program for people that use phones that were blind I tried looking for it recently but I couldn’t find it I forget what it’s called but I’m not sure accessibility is getting any better in fact recently when I had to buy a dishwasher . After looking in three separate stores I found only one single dishwasher that had physical buttons that was it not one other one was accessible I don’t know what I’m gonna do when this one dies you can no longer even buy overlays for your appliances anymore used to be able to get brown ones not anymore you can’t for the major manufacturers

They really should show it on SightCity in Frankfurt! Oh great... This item can't be shipped to Germany! Grr... Accessibility shouldn't be restricted! The same thing is with no-jab cane. It's so frustrating!Stupid restrictions! Lots of people can speak in Europe English fluently and such products would made our life easier but NO. Amazon says NO.
