Star Wars animation often had high hurdles to conquer but they ended up delivering.

I've been looking forward to hearing him go over this part. This is the dawn of the new canon as we know know it. I am a little surprised that he glossed over that the sixth season of Clone Wars was first released on Netflix, not Cartoon Network, and how that season is technically incomplete as the show was canceled in the middle of production. This resulted in a number of incomplete story arcs getting released to the public in other formats like books, comics, and early story reels. Then again, that might have been too much detail for this video. Either way, great video! Can't wait to hear him talk about Clone Wars season seven next time!

@@OkayYaraman Also, let's not forget, he said that Rebels was just the beginning of the end for Star Wars animation on TV. We still have Resistance to talk about, a show that wasn't bad, but I never felt got the opportunity to grow and evolve into something beloved the same way Clone Wars and Rebels did, because it's run only lasted two seasons. Too bad...

Dave Filoni did not create the Clone Wars cartoon. He was a supervising director and a development artist, but he did not develop the series.

Wait, Ian McDiarmid took Tim Curry’s place because season 7 wasn’t greenlit until after Curry’s stroke. Curry took over for Abercrombie

They used archival audio of McDiarmid for Season 7. He recorded no new lines for the Season.

Great video. I loved watching Clone Wars as a kid on Cartoon Network. It did give me an appreciation for the prequels just as Rebels is such a love letter to the original trilogy. Rebels is my favorite of the animated shows. Looking forward to the next one

Technically Tim curry briefly took over Ian Abercrombie in the end of season 5 and 6 Ian mcdiarmid didn’t voice him till the final season

McDiarmid technically didn’t record new lines for S7. Only Rebels, Tales of the Jedi and Bad Batch.

Overall think I preferred Rebels to Clone Wars. Its focus on one team gave it a much tighter story compared to the bouncing around in time and space of Clone Wars, and I found Clone Wars to be quite hit and miss depending on what the focus of a particular arc was

Agreed! 💯 People seem to forget how many bad and mediocre episodes TCW had. So much Jar Jar, droids, and weird force beings…

At least the Clone Wars ended where Revenge of the Sith ends. Despite it ended on a downer note, there is hope for the new heroes.

Correction: Ian McDiarmid only voiced Palpatine in season 4 of Rebels. When Ian Abercrombie passed away, Tim Curry was cast.

Personally for me clone wars was my jam growing up way more then rebels in my opinion

I like both Clone Wars and Rebels equally. Rebels is more consistently great, but Clone Wars has higher highs and SLIGHTLY lower lows (there's no truly bad episode of it though)
