Sometimes I won't listen to the Dead for a while, but then I'll come back and hear a great, beautiful piece like this. It truly never loses its magic. Long live the Dead!

I was at this show! It was a blur tho. The guy next to me gave me something that fogged my mind. I remember clearly crawling across the rafters of the Arena and sitting on Jerry's shoulder looking out at the audience. Thank you for posting

Holy smoke!!! Almost 40 years ago when tapers passed around lists of their shows, I got a cassette of a show that was only labeled as 'St. Louis'. Jerry played some amazing licks on Not Fade Away that have stuck in my end head for decades. When I saw this KZbin video, I listened and held my breath. Wow, there were those same licks being played!! I'm amazed and thankful for the good old GD!!!

The is the first sequence I ever heard on a bootleg tape, when I was 16. I was transformed and played that St Louis 5/15 tape until it broke. I only had this section of it as someone had taped over the rest of it by the time the tape made it to my possession, but this was enough to get me going lol

idk about that. St. Stephen (incomplete) is five minutes, and this is one of the best versions. The first ever Iko Iko performed is only 3 minutes, because they played it in the NFA structure for its first performance. The NFA is 9 minutes, and while that isn’t long for this song (many versions reach 12+ from the 70s), 9 minutes isn’t really surprisingly short for this song. And Sugar Mag is 10 minutes, which is the usual. Not to mention they perform an almost 9 minute Uncle John’s Band encore.
