I like RPG element of random skill. Get a random then use that to shape what sort of player they will develop into. Much more fun than block/guard spam

Underworld snotlings are the biggest winners, they can get a random mutation if they end up with the MVP. First time in history a snotling is gonna live long enough to get a skill ;)

Renegades Linemen are probably a great candidate for random mutations and then you can build them around those mutations

I love this sooooooo much! The Black Orc Team is my dream team for BB 2020. Gonna go random with virtually every player coz this team has everything that makes me love BB AND still make it work haha!!! Random Stat Up Players: Werewolves after Block Elf Catchers after Dodge Wardancers (ST4, MA9 or AG1+) Skinks (AG2+ or MA9) Throw-Ra (ST4, MA7 or AG3+ ? Hell YEAH)
@cooperstokes87294 жыл бұрын
i never thought of the thro-ra, those stat ups would be good for them. I guess the only problem is racking that much spp up for the piece

I’m thinking the ogre team will benefit the most. While I wouldn’t take a random skill on all of them, ogre blockers will be happy with most things on the strength table. Anyone who ends up with brawler or juggernaut can hold out for pro next level. Arm bar, guard, stand firm, multiple block start picking skills on strength for line duty. The lucky strong arm ogre gets to pick pass skills next. Gnoblars can hold out until 18 fish for agility or can or go for random skills. Anything to keep them cheap. With the discount on random skills and low cost linemen, you’ll be able to squeeze in a couple skills into the ogre team
@deckerCKY4 жыл бұрын
Agreed on ogres, but counterintuitively, I think you want your gnoblars choosing skills (specifically diving tackle to mitigate how horrid of a matchup titchy vs agility teams works out to being).
@carlosnieve12254 жыл бұрын
@@deckerCKY That’s a good point, might be worth giving a couple diving tackle. My thinking was gnoblars are so cheap that I’d rather hope I get a decent skill for 10k than pay for a one at 20k. Still diving tackle is a good pick, appreciate the tip

Interesting random skill line up, looking forward to seeing it in BB3... But for stat ups my top 5; 5. Norse Berserkers (if allowed) - only one not useful would be pass, the rest can either make the Berserker enter the fray a little more or pick their spots more effectively using agility/movement. If not then Troll Slayer for similar reasons but movement is less 4. Wrights - for the undead, pretty much the core of the team, can serve a multitude of roles and the stat point would help that decision 3. Beastmen - good stats as a whole anyway, matched with horns can make a dangerous blitzer with strength and movement, the high armour would make it a scrummage Beastman, agility and pass would create ball handlers for the team 2. Imperial blitzers - keys of the team already, would decide on a team role if not already decided if the first spp build up is a random stat (is it a front line? A scorer? A fighter?) 1. Warewolves - high movement already to give the Warewolf more range, strength would help with the frenzy and claw, armour and regenerate is a nightmare to deal with

Definitely, though obviously they have a few more duds like sure hands.

As a goblin coach, I think you underestimate diving tackle on a goblin. It is so useful for messing with agility teams who can run rings around you and laugh as they leave your bashy pieces in the dust. Sure I would rather have sidestep first, but I would be overjoyed to pick up a 10k diving tackle on a gobbo. It just allows you to control the pitch far more. Then I'm saving up to take sidestep on the second skill... which is admittedly optimistic...

Intend to play a "goblin team" built from Black Orc team in BB3 until the "proper goblin team" is released. Random skills are a given and any unwanted skill simply means that the goblin is retired and the troll eats well that night.
@bradp64524 жыл бұрын
Snotlings also seem like good places to throw random skills. Saving for 6 and paying 20K for any skill on them does not seem worth it. I think for the teams with lots of one player types a couple of randoms make sense to see if you can get a hit to start developing them along a specific path. Chaos Pact lineman also come to mind. Get an MVP, get a skill. Do not like the skill to the fighting pit you go.
@mcsnaga4 жыл бұрын
I was surprised to not see anything from Chaos Chosen on this list. They need skills and quickly!
@deckerCKY4 жыл бұрын
Chaos needs block/sure hands/extra arms and quickly. I could see them doing decent with a couple randoms after you have that baseline, but effective chaos teams are all about getting skills for mitigating the dice.

All linemen (including Dwarf Blocker) is my top pick for random. Zombies, Skeletons, Thralls and Human Linemen are all good with a cheap skill added. As mentioned there are plenty of good General skills, or Str for Dwarves, that you want on the team. Goblins is a good call out but I would not be taking random Passing skills. Most of them are going to be useless. If it was the end of the season I may do so on the basis of either it is a cheaper thrower to rehire or I am sacking them anyway. Same is true for Big Guys if you get to the end of the Season with only 6 SPP then take a punt on General. Get block or get fired!

No beast man love? It pleases me that mutation is one of the best lines to roll randomly
@deckerCKY4 жыл бұрын
I have a clear-cut top 3 (in no particular order) - these players all love 80-90% of available skills. 1. General access lineman (G) 2. Human catcher (A) - random skill first, then build from there 3. Ogre team ogre players (S) - aside from pile driver, all are solid. Keep tv down along with cheap linemen. Disagree strongly on random passing skills. Passing and mutation trees are all over the place so I'd stay away from randoms on both. Krox and trolls have a number of duds on randoms - break tackle and pile driver are quite bad, and while useful, you don't want to be spending a skill on thick skull. That said - love the random general goblin (really any stunty - skinks?).
@JorisVDC4 жыл бұрын
Well, Goblins have so few good skills on Agility and such a short lifespan that they are ideal for random secondary skills. I do feel that you are a little bit too optimistic with your predictions: strip ball, wrestle and tackle are worth it but aren't going to break that goblin, at ST 2 you're still looking at 1/2 blocking dice (red dice) because any coach worth his salt is going to carry the ball an a ST3+ player. I'm also not really stoked on lineman rolling a random primary General skill but hey: if they get the random MVP, it totally makes sense to risk it because chances are that that lineman isn't going to get to 6SPP anyway with passing being nerfed. So yeah, risk it, you can always fire him if he doesn't get a decent skill. On next Friday's list: I would pick runners/catchers/throwers with their most important skill already in: at least dodge and/or block (to keep them alive) and than save up for that sweet MA. Typically it's worth it because they can pick a secondary if you come up with the wrong stat? Maybe you don't want ST because 80k is as much as an extra positional, which might be correct, yet it depends on the AV of the player if your want to risk such an investment in CTV. My general line of though is: pick a player that really likes +MA and is going to rack up SPP fast enough to get to the point where your can actually gamble and get some return from it, before the season ends.
@WoWisdeadtome4 жыл бұрын
Good (all) Lizardmen players absolutely will carry the ball with a ST2 player, just saying. Probably the new Black Orc squad as well. Ogres in fact, routinely carry the ball with a ST1 player.

Imagine an underworld goblin with big hand and two heads. That bastard could pull the ball out from under the feet of an entire team and live to tell of it for at least a few days.
@leifdoerksen47342 жыл бұрын
And this is why I love underworld... If your team lives long enough to get 2 levels on a goblin... you can pull off BS that makes elves look boring.

I think skinks are better off just saving spp for a skill of their choice, their mobility makes them survive long enough for that to be a better option then randoms.
