I just started playing tabletop (have played a fair amount on PC) and had my first game with High Elves! It was a one-off game of Sevens vs. Slaan which was great fun. We were tied 1-1 at the end and opted not to play overtime. I've definitely been enjoying your videos and looked forward to this one especially! Great content as always. Playing another Sevens game tonight vs. humans, I think I can see how to adapt some of these strategies to a Sevens team as well (I'm running your suggested team of 2 blitzers, 1 catcher, 1 thrower, 3 lineman and it was excellent even with a novice at the wheel). Seems like Blood Bowl is starting to take off a bit in my area!

I believe I may have coined the name of the Chevron defence when I wrote the first elf tactical FUMBBL guides. It's very much a high press strategy - the best way to stop a cage is to never allow it to form. The expensive thrower is a wrinkle; they may be better off on the wing in front of the Blitzer. A variant of the Chevron for very slow opponents is an offset, with the LOS all the way to one side and three teams of two on the long flank, one on the short, and the front player of the short flank team has Side Step.

Hey Andy! I don't know if you check older videos, but, a request related to this... Elves are famously fragile, with starting teams having virtually no skills and it taking an entire season to get a handful of players that can survive ... assuming they aren't broken before levelling up! What I could REALLY use are some setups with missing players... what do you do when you have 10 guys because a Catcher's out? How do you defend against a team of Dwarves when you went down to just 8 for the start of the first half? KO's are more common, but Elves get 1-3 inuries a game and double that in KO'd ... what do you do in that situation? Surely there's more than "Lie down and give up" but I don't know what. Help!

Hi - and thanks for your advice. Just one question. Why are you positioning the backfield of the Chevron D 3 squares down, and not just 2?

On a Quick Snap, that would expose the front rank to blocks instead of blitzes, leaving the rear rank open to the blitz.
