Amazing! I was thinking back from the beginnings of this tree, and remembering what seems like a tremendous amount of life I have experienced since then! Wow! It's been very exciting and chock full of experiences I never imagined I would have! What a ride it has been to date, and the same goes for your Microcarpa. I think the "Covid years" aged all of us so quickly in those two years, and it really took its toll on our hair and skin. It did for me, and of course, you've turned into a grey pineapple! LOL! Seriously Nigel! This was such a wonderful video! I love history, and it was fascinating to follow the history of the life of this tree so far! Thank you! Lisa

Wow, almost a decade of the Bonsai Zone already, time really flies. It's such a pleasure to see the developmental process of your very first bonsai, it's amazing how the tree transitioned over the last 3 decades. I'm sure picking up a camera and recording the progress of your plants was one of the best choices you've made so far. Picturing and documenting plants in any collection is such an enjoyable process as in the future, you can look back at what the plant once was, and since you can't turn back time, those pictures enforce your memories of those individual specimens. I can't wait to see how this tree develops into the future, and I look forward to seeing more of your videos.

I was looking forward to this video ever since I saw the thumbnail. Now I finally caught up! Your 1st Bonsai - the Ficus Microcarpa - surely came a long way. I feel like it picked up in vigor in recent years. The roots etc. became thicker, too. Incredible how much it grows back in after defoliation. Awesome tree. I'm looking forward to seeing what it'll turn in to! The video also made me wonder when I found you and your Bonsai Zone. It surely was more than five years ago - and I'm so glad I found your channel! Congratulations to 10 successful years on KZbin, and I'm looking forward to many more years in the Bonsai Zone 🌲 By the way, I think it might also be interesting to see how the Bonsai Zone area itself changed over the years, in case you have photos of it!
