If you buy turbos of different brands in NFS underground, there will be a difference in turbo sounds. Like Greddy or HKS

it's mainly dictated by the BOV or the construction of the air filter if that upgrade "stage" supports a BPV setup For example: Greddy kit's sound are taken from the Type-R bov prominent witg DSM tuners of that era. late game cars uses the Airinx "surge" sound if sound is taken from a BPV set up sample car. HKS's kits had more variant from the option fins that you could swap out on the SSQV bov, and needless to say, the Supra and R34 sound are taken from the notorious "Doom Shroom" dry type pod filter with green sponge inserts.

No matter how amazing the Ghost Era games sounded, the fact that the Undergrounds and Most Wanted sounded THAT GOOD and ran on a GAMECUBE is a testament to Black Box's talent.

@redzed2038 yeah, that's sad. Especially when black box literally made the worst one in the franchise, Undercover. And I used to play that shit almost everyday so it has a special place in my heart. Also, we're talking about sounds, not the whole game and Ghost did one hell of a job with the sound so there's no point in talking them down about something that they did good

Fun fact: in early NFS games supercharged cars were treated like NAs, so effectively you could modify a supercharged car to be twin charged!

Need for speed shift 2 need to come back as a remaster or a shift 3 with new things for the people that loved intense track focused racing with todays graphics! The hud shaking was so cool. The little details like engine heat on the hood and the the car actually shaking when revving was just crazy!

Extra information: In Underground 2, the exhaust package can affect the sound of the turbo and in ProStreet the 3 different turbo brands are actually options for single, dual turbo and a supercharger

@ Some people have such a weird bias against new iterations of games and it’s especially noticeable with nfs fans. It gets to the point they’ll never see the good in it and go “ermmm where’s my nfsmw remaster wtf” everywhere. Like unbound isn’t the best but you gotta give credit where it’s due lol

Pretty sure in mw it also changes depending on the car. As well as heat and unbound having different sounds depending on what engine you have installed
