@@catiolabr Did you know that Black Box took some 2F2F sounds including Brian's R34 sound? Even they clearly used the other part when Brian's revving his Skyline as an ambient sound in NFS UG1 but they reused it in NFS UG2. And according to Craig Lieberman the 2F2F producers made a heavily mix from other sounds but mostly 2JZ-GTE and RB30DET with Tubilar Manifold and HKS Turbo if I'm not mistaken for the Brian's R34 Skyline. Black Box also took Pierce's Eclipse sound and Brian's Evo 7. As well in NFS Carbon (despite they never used it but it is in the files) Dom's Charger sound from the first F&F. I like how you call these F&F sounds "realistic" when actually they don't and all of them has some mix from other cars - they are not 100% pure. The closest to stock RB26DETT sound is NFS 2015/Heat and Gran Turismo Sport.

The first time I bought the Skyline R34 in Underground 2 I was instantly hooked on it's sound and so sad when I heard it go away and back to the generic "tuned" sound of all the other cars. a few runs later I figured out you could keep that sound, for the sacrifice of a bit of performance, by not installing a few motor specific parts but that was SO worth it. Stock sounding R34 with all the other tuning still applied was the best experience. Also considering that (according to the comments) NFS Heat is one of the more realistic ones, NFS U2 was WAY ahead of it's competition when it comes to the sound of this one singular car.

That "generic" tune sound is from Ferrari 360 if you didn't know. It is used in all I6 and Rotary cars only. Other cars use a Chevrolet Cavalier and other sounds as upgraded. Not to mention it is so obvious how Black Box ripped off Brian's R34 sound as well Pierce's Eclipse and Brian's Evo 7 sounds for this game and probably more but these are the most noticeable. Also the street upgrade sound of the Skyline is a VQ35DE sound. Plus don't forget that the street upgrade of the Supra/Is300 also use the stock R34 sound.

You can apply all engine parts and use nlgzrgn's car sound tuner to keep the original sound. Simply edit the config to match the stock sound. If you need help, feel free to ask :)

Of course when you know that Black Box in NFS UG2 had to rip off Brian's R34 sound from 2F2F to use it as "stock" sound and also the street upgrade sound of Toyota Supra and Lexus IS300. And not to mention that wasn't the only F&F sound that they had to rip off... Like the pro/extreme upgrade of the WRX is Roman Pierce's Eclipse sound or the street upgrade of Honda Civic Si is Brian's Evo 7 sound.

@@thestanlibtims The sound file is not from RX-8. The RX-8 sound are is used by both RX-7/RX-8 as street upgrade. The sound that are you looking for is pretty much known by everyone that it is from Ferrari 360 (and ironically that was everyone wanting every car to sound as kid when you upgrade a car, right?) It is used by all rotaries and all I6 cars for pro/extreme upgrade. Plus mods do exist. You should check Pabloracer's soundpack. At least he cares about the sound modding compared to 99% of the community that doesn't even have the balls for it.

@@thestanlibtims Fun fact: There was another unused sound but in NFS Carbon this time called ply_cuda_a. And what basically this sound is - the Dom's Charger sound from the first F&F. Acceleration sound was taken from the scene where Brian and Dom are drag racing and decceleration sounds of one of the scenes when he slows down. It is sad that this sound was never used by default but still with NFSVLTED you can use it. Probably the reasons are why it is not used it is either too awesome or in fact that is the only different acceleration sound that has "gear changes" and it cause some issues in some RPMs to be "silent." Even with these issues still it was awesome to use it. And I think there are might be more F&F sounds that Black Box borrowed but these 4 are the most obvious.
