Some opened tips I got. One I pull the same played you pull. But since i ,like yourself are getting into tight areas alot. On all my trailers airbags I have shutoff valves.if I want to run on the front axle alone. Dump the air out. Shut the valves off on the center axle. Use a heavy duty 5' chain wrapped around the axle. Then re inflate the bags. The turning radius is shortened alot. If the machine is light enough, like that small Cat loader or similar. Getting around that school for instance will be much easier. And if you need that axle again. It takes a minute to remove the chain. As far as changing down, everyone has their own way. As long as its the right amount of equipment is used for as much as it weighs. Some need more,some need less. My bigger machines, I have more at the back of the machine. If you hit the brakes hard it wouldn't slide forward, especially if the deck has ice on it. And if I'm in a hurry. Ill drive smaller machines off the side like loaders and small excavators.
@TheBostonTrucker2 күн бұрын
Thanks for the great tips, I'll have to give them a shot but the whole dumping out air and chaining axles isn't something I understand or have seen up close yet.

Hey you’re getting pretty good at this KZbin stuff 😅 although I can’t believe you went there with the fingerless gloves comment. I mean you have a fingerless glove 🧤. Also regarding Blackdog, imo it’s a decent action movie but as we know it’s not very factual. Especially when they show a driver “bouncing up and down and see-sawing on the steering wheel” 😂. Have a good week Mike 👍

@@TheBostonTrucker They say Im a good driver. I told them... BS. But I used to drive a tow truck like a decade ago and.. I put some miles on it. It was same height and width . With a long car on the back of the extended cab flat bed one I was like only 10 feet shorter than a semi and 53 foot trailer. Gotta STAY WIDE, Watch the Tandems and "Trust your bed" When backing up.. Learned all about "Straight wheel" backing Now I can spin trailers with the push" haha I hope I can make some $ now. Another student passed I Was with who was much younger. 23? One failed. I hope Eric. His 2nd try because he could not back it into the box good but mastered it with more practice got it this time. Anyway Im bored now I wanna go drive around in a truck again and back up and spin trailers around in tight spots. Its good I got the CDL and dont have to drive stupid anymore to impress the inspector I Can go back to my style

But trucking channels like Big Rig travels and others like yourself. Unfortunately big rig travels can not do anymore live travelling videos do to a new distractive driving laws,and his companies policies. Plus NHRA drag racing videos and channels like Vice Grip Garage for automotive how to videos. I'm also a professional candlepin bowler, so I'm watching, or trying to get on the Candlepin Bowling Network. Other than local news,A Bruins game,or the new Tim Allen show.
