Some of the best memories of my life were riding alongside my Dad. I was born into the industry and from about the age of 7 he had me out helping hold the torch while he was underneath fixing something to get it ready for the next days work. Weekends and school holidays I was out with him and man, I was very proud of his red B model Mack. As his business grew to more vehicles and I got older, he had me loading trucks and helping out in the Workshop and I wasn’t aware , by the time I was old enough for my license I had already done a lot of training. It was all I wanted to do and I followed him into the business as soon as I could. He is gone now, and I am out of the industry, but when you are born into this industry, it never leaves you. It’s men like your dad that worked hard and built the country. 👍

Gotta say im not an emotional guy (you can ask my wife 😆) but man did that touch me when you brought your Dad out to see your new ride i bet that made you feel incredible as his son. It brought me back too i wanna say 1995 when my Dad took me to show my Grandfather the wrecker the shop he works for just finnished building. Truck was a 1987 379 with a jerrdan 25ton backend. Had a 425 cat and 15spd agenced the dash red with a red gut they still have the truck. He wasnt able to ride in it due to being overweight and crippled from a stroke, but he sure was a proud father just as yours is.

Thanks for the video tho, I loved it - should make that a regular thing, maybe every couple weeks ago, call it trucker time with Pop… I used to sit with my uncle and have trucker talk to him after he retired, then finally I had to go in and have a major back surgery and he drove truck for me again for a couple years, after I got better I joined him, was really cool getting to drive truck with him and hear about the good ol days

It would have been so much better if you had turned down the TV volume in the background! It is driving me crazy to try to understand this magnificent story your father is telling.😢 We all lose by having such a distraction imposed upon us. I respect what your father is telling us, but I cannot truly understand all of what he is saying due to the background noise. Sorry Mike. You did both your father and your audience a disservice by not turning down that damn background noise. 🥵
@TheBostonTruckerАй бұрын
There's always one and you're the one this time. He has two other roommates and it was their televisions you heard and that was after I asked them to turn them down but they are both elderly so their hearing isn't very good, that's why I had the camera so close so you can hear him. Next time turn your volume up!
@myexpressways4106Ай бұрын
I meant no disrespect to you. I apologize. WhenI realized why the background sound was not silenced, it changed my perspective. I have a hearing issue that requires hearing aids. I have Bluetooth connectivity for videos and phone conversations. It is not about the volume, it is just very difficult to separate the background from what I am trying to hear. As a retired trucker, I have nothing bit respect for both you and your father for your wirk ethic and professionalism. This video is very special for all of us to relate to what it was lime "in the day." Sorry for the misunderstanding, Mike.
