First cabover I bought was a 1969 w model ford. Then a new Astro in 1978. 290 Cummins. Brand new 36,000. Just a plain truck. Great show Boston.

Those guys are great guys. Would love to meet them. I bought new international eagle in 1987. Then another one in 1995. Then the one I got now. 2001 9900ix. Still got it. Loved the cruise liner. Loved this video. My kind of guys.

My first truck when I got my license was a '79 White Road Commode. 290 Cummins and a 9 speed, twin screw, Reyco suspension and no brakes on the steer axle,,, yee haa, fun times . Can't wait for part 2... great video Mike

There was a company from Indiana called Artim. They pulled doubles hauling coils of steel from Buffalo n y to Michigan. Ran across Ontario. Back in seventies or eighties. Good old days.

I agree with him on 87 was not the last year for gmc big trucks. I owned a 88 gmc general. So 87 was not the last year like most people claim.

GMC Astro and IH Transtar were the 2 cabovers I ran mostly But I did run F Model Macks once in a while. Gosh, I hated them!!!! (Sorry Cabover Kings!) Great show Mike!

Cabovers were mostly out by the time I started enjoying trucking I am 28 but every time I see one it amazes me how small it is inside and amazes me the engine was legit under your ass!

Poor bastards I can see the back problems now. Hated running cabovers they were junk. Had a belt blow on the side of the road had to change it quick. Had my thermos on the bunk and damn thing blew out my front window. Yeah they are cool but honestly garbage too.
