Bought the wacom flex arm after watching dozens of videos and reading reviews. It is REALLY good! The flex is unnoticeable even when its fully erect and stretched. The amount of freedom it gives is lovely. To all those that say that tiny screws are made of soft metal and are easily harmed. They are not load-bearing, so you only need to tighten them very slightly. Just enough to not let the part that its supposed to hold to come out of the socket. Its built like a tank. Love it.

I have the exact same setup, and agree that it's hard to push down, though I suppose this is a good point. One thing I've accidentally done is put so much force on the Cintiq that the side bezel would pop down, and would need to snap it back into place. The wobble isn't too bad honestly, and I only notice it when zig zagging horizontally on the screen rapidly. One thing is for sure, it helps the neck and back with this thing, and of course, really frees up space on my desk especially since I like using the keyboard as my shortcut device. In other news, there's either some dead pixels or dust in a small part of my screen, and some bad backlight bleed on the left. The thing is only 2 months old and looks like I'll need to send it in for warranty repair.... AND I have to pay shipping. Pretty shoddy Wacom... really.

I found an alternative solution to a solid stand for the Pro 24. I purchased the Wacom Vesa Adapter and their newly released Cintiq 22 (Vesa standard 100mm) stand which is a larger version of the Cintiq 16 stand. It works great and is very solid. I am sure Wacom does not approve but I have to say VS the Ergo stand or the Flex stand for $148 I no longer need books. You can purchase both on the Wacom page.

Great video, let me get this right though.... you pay a ton of money for the Cintiq and Wacom doesn't even have the courtesy to include a decent stand or a vesa mount? Even a cheap Huion includes both. Pay more get less must be Wacom's slogan these days. Looking at the price, I'll have to shockingly note that the arm is more expensive than my Huion GT-191 was when on sale. The vesa mount and a alternative arm are definitely a lot less then buying that arm. For around $100 you get great arms.

Well, Wacom costs so much because of the quality trade off of the screen, pen, and drivers. Overall, Wacom makes better tablets, so they can get away with shittier stands. You could say that Wacom is giving you less even though you pay more, but you’re not paying for the stand, you’re really paying for the tablet. So in reality, they made the flex arm to combat that problem. Plus do you know how unconventional having a built in stand on a tablet that size would be? I have a 16” tablet and I already feel like I’m sacrificing a third of my desk space. I don’t think Wacom is giving you more for less, I just think that you’re looking at the wrong parts of the price. They probably kept the item cheaper because of the stand. You’re paying for a lament screen, quality matte glass, an amazing pen, seamless drivers, and so that Wacom can turn a profit.

@DevDreCW4 жыл бұрын
As someone who did actually buy one of those Huion Cintiq knockoffs, the quality difference alone is INSANE. Wacom is expensive for a reason. No amount of setup or tweaking got that shitty bootleg to work half as good as even my cheap Intous medium. If you're buying an expensive piece of equipment, and the Huion is still hundreds of dollars, it's a huge mistake to buy something that doesn't do it's intended job well. Like honestly, if Wacom could figure out their shitty fucking driver issues, I'd have no complaints, it's not like you're buying them yearly or anything. My Intous medium is many, many years old and still works like a charm. (After.. dealing with the driver issues)

@tested211 Жыл бұрын
The flex arm is great. It's very flexible for position and it really doesn't wiggle much providing you have a good solid setup. It works best on a very solid desk and with the clamp very firmly attached. Because it's effectively an 80cm cantilever, ANY movement at the clamp point will be magnified considerably at the monitor end, so it's critical to get this good and solid. When well set up it's close to the solidity of a desk stand (and even those still have some flex)
@CreateNowSleepLater6 жыл бұрын
Hey Brad, do you think its just a rebranded ergotron arm? I did a review on just the VESA mount and used it with a standard ergo (not the heavy weight one). The HP and Amazon basics ones were rebranded ergotron arms. So my total cost was under $200. It does have some wiggle but not when I bring it in low. I guess the weight is just better distributed that way. Also looks like it might be the same exact VESA mount which makes sense. Its great because it doesnt flex at all. Nice review man!

Great review, Brad (as always). I bought the Ergo stand a few months ago as I had no idea they were releasing this. I have my Huion GT191 mounted to it and it's really nice, it's built out of metal like this and the base looks EXACTLY the same making me think it's the same manufacturer. Not helped by all the same positions all being possible with my monitor arm, down to the rotation. The difference is instead of $380 it's $100. So, that is an absurd price for a monitor arm...as usual with Wacom.

I feel like its not thought through with these Cintiqs. If you buy the enormous stand, that is kindoff similar to the old one, it only has like 2 position in which it looks in, which is ridiculious, and it also takes up lot of space (Where to put my fricking keyboard?). And when you get that ergotron-arm, and for example, want do do big strokes on like a 32 inch Cintiq, as you would when doing figure drawing, it will wobble the shit out of your table. So how is it, there is no proper solution to mount this thing? I am thinkig about buying this, but all the ways of using it seem like a compromise and not very much thought out. Any thoughts on this? The only Cintiq I've ever used was a 22HD at work, which has also a weird stand, but at least it is rock solid.

These arms are not strong enough to handle the Cintiq and VESA mount combined. I want to evaluate the ERGONOMICS of these - where do you rest your arm and hand, is your neck and head in a neutral position for good line-of-sight, how is it integrated with mouse, keyboard, monitor and the rest of your workflow, and does it allow you to work for long periods with minimum neck, arm, or wrist strain?
