You absolutely nailed it. I had early childhood memories of this film, but had no idea what it was called - thought it was Mandroid, but after searching for it in the early Internet age, I figured I must have made a mistake. I saw a Reddit thread mentioning it a couple of years ago, and finally searched KZbin today. I was right about Mandroid - as that’s the character’s name. It’s crazy that Eliminators is never mentioned anywhere. Weird, but I can imagine why I’d have had fond memories of this as a 6 year old. Looks like it was targeted specifically at that age group. Nice review!

Not only do I remember Centurions (Power Extreme), but my brother and I saw this movie opening night back when we were in grade school. If you think you were thinking WTF, the whole audience seemed equally confused (but it was weirdly entertaining)

So since the album Thundersteel by Riot came out in '88 and this came out in '86 I guess I now know where the band got their inspiration for the song/album.

So Eliminators really features Steven from 'V', knock-off V.I.N.CENT from The Black Hole and the acting abilities of Denise Crosby? Gotta love it!

Apparently the Marvel boys cribbed from this movie too. They made a cyborg villain named Bonebreaker with the same silly tank treads for his lower body in 1988. XD

The ninja cooking the fish over the fire reminds me of the Far Side comic where the cavemen say "Hey. Look what Zog do."

Mandroid has a torpedo launcher built into his robot arm. That’s some Inspector Gadget level situational weaponry. What would have had happened if he wasn’t in a boat? Just seems strange that when they put him back together someone was like “God yes are we going to give our special Mandroid an arm torpedo for aquatic adventures, hell yeah!”

R2-Amnot is probably based on the hero robots from Disney's "The black hole". Thanks for finding this one. I was convinced I dreamed this one up as a kid
