"each shrine is like one screen from a zelda 1 dungeon" I would say that it's actually more of a small chunk, anywhere from one to a few screens, depending on and accounting for secrets, additional puzzles and offshoots, and interconnectivity between different areas of the shrine.

The thing that makes BotW Hyrule Castle so difficult is the egregious overuse of Guardians. It doesn’t even make sense from a story perspective because they are supposed to be out in the world searching for Link, not camping out in the villain’s base. Instead, Hyrule Castle should have been overrun with Lynels.
@willmil1199 Жыл бұрын
Basically they where here to protect the castle and the people in there but then they got corrupted and killed the castle people and now they are ready to defend Ganon from link when he comes that's why they are still here

i dont think anyone agrees but i think that the yiga clan hideoute 100% counts as a dungeon. it has combat, it has puzzles, it has a boss fight at the end, and it has a main mechanic (the stealth), i can even argument that the bananas are its dungeon item! ok maybe not but i can say that its the most clasicc 3D dungeon of all in botw. and i also think that the enemy camps arround some towers are undervalued
@TheBreadPirate3 жыл бұрын
Fair point. It's at least a mini dungeon.
@enzoborghetto3 жыл бұрын
@@TheBreadPirate i think that the only things that can be used to argue that it isnt a full dungeon, are the fact that its realy short and its part of a bigger misson wich ends in its own dungeon. so i think it can easily be called mini dungeon. : )

Yiga Clan hideout definitely FEELS more like a dungeon than anything else in the game.
@KhemBMD3 жыл бұрын
Unpopular opinion but the departure from a heavy reliance on the dungeon system is a good thing. Personally I hope they keep this for the future however I wouldn’t mind more dungeons. A mix of like 2/3 overworks 1/3 dungeons would be nice as opposed to the singular true dungeon of botw. The old formula was stale and needed change and I personally welcome it

Normally I try to watch youtubers with between 1k and 1 Million subs because ones with over 1 mil usually have very little interaction with the subscribers. (Actually, it’s really about over 50k, but I wanted to give a big range so I’m not discounting very many youtubers) and usually people with under 1k usually don’t have very good quality, both sound and video subject wise. You completely broke that, you’re just as good at it, if not better than people I watch with over 100k subs. (You also reply to every comment and know lots of other youtubers, both big and small, both of which are huge for me. ) I would hope you get to 1 million subs, but I know you don’t want to be that big, because then you might lose the interaction, so I will say that you deserve 1 Mil, but I hope that you get 10k.

Alright, I would like to quickly say, Zelda 1 and BoTW have an even amount of restricted areas. They may have approached them in different ways, but they exist in both. Notably, you need a korok leaf to get to the island in the southeast island, and you need gerudo clothing to get into gerudo town. The major difference is that BoTW streamlined the experience, by giving the solution much closer to the problem. To an extent, this is nice, but it also makes it feel less like *I* solved a puzzle, and much more like the game gave it to me. Comparatively, in older 3D Zelda games, you are shown areas you can't access because of a lacking tool, and it rewards you for remembering them. I personally prefer this style, and hope BoTW2 does that, because that feels like the most satisfying way to do it in my opinion.

Thing is, caves with heart pieces have been around for a long time in previous titles and they werent considered dungeons, shrines are closer to those than to actual minidungeons. By the logic "shrines are dungeon because there is a quarter of a heart container" you can pretty much double or even tripple the official number of dungeons there are in each game
