Vale of Eternity - Artifacts Expansion Review - Beyond The Base Game

Good to know our tastes align for future reference. I find Res Arcana to be dull as dishwater and Vale to be out and out fun. But other critics seem to view it as a masterpiece and Vale just "luck of the draw"

I have never played Vale of eternity, but I have played Res Arcana a few times and did not like it. It is not short, especially when dragons are involved. My half of the table played Earth in less time. Seeing this review makes me think I might try Vale of eternity the base game

The original game takes me and my family 45 (ish) minutes to play 4 player. I’d be interested to see how much extra time this would add. Being in Australia it will take a while to hit our shores anyway 😊

Complaining about the reference card including something you may or may not add to the game is just on the wrong side of petty in my book and seems more like being said to fulfil a need to be negative because you don't like the artefact system ;) Saying that, to me this is a £15 expansion tarted up to get it closer to £20 to £25 in the shops.

@@TheBrokenMeeple I haven't actually thought about it yet. I was waiting to get the actual copy first. My pre-order was withdrawn, so I don't know when I'm getting it. But I'll take a crack at it.

So is an 8 with 2p? Or 7 all counts? I just bought my copy because of you, so thanks for that, even when my wallet got more slim, I got it for 30 dollars new so I think it was a very good price. Enjoy the trip, don´t get eaten hahaha.

All I wanted as an expansion for this game was MORE CARDS. I never care for anything that changes game mechanics, or complexity and timing of the game. This would've been better if it was broken down into 2 separate expansions, then I wouldn't have to pay for all the extra baggage I'll never play with.
