Reykholt is the only one from this list we've played, but we are in the same place with it (ready to trade). We like it & played it quite a bit initially, but it's been over a year since we've played it now & there are so many other games we choose before it. A good game & beautiful, but just played out for us. Nice video!

I really like these items! It’s not just the culling, but most importantly the reason behind it. Like said before, in some cases it gives me another perspective in which I look at games in my own collection. But, but, “Santa Maria”😫? This one and “Raja’s of the Ganges” stay in my collection. For now 😉...

Well like I said, I couldn't see the reason to keep both and I prefer Raja's.

Yes I understand and it might be the reason it will also leave my collection eventually. But I only purchased it recently after one of your “shelves videos”. So, it deserves some more playtime... Like I said, for now. Keep up the good work!

Depends how hard it was to cull the game - but the money means a new game!

When you cull games, what do you do with them? Donate (Where?)? Sell (Where?)?

Depends on how I obtained the game. Review copies, donate - friends or game cafe, usually the latter. My own purchases - resale on Facebook groups or cheap to local game club members.

Wow, all 4 from the poll? That is fair. I have a few Uwe games that I think are simply there because I was collecting his designs for some reason. Time for me to start dropping stuff that doesn't get played.

We really love your videos Luke! Thank you! Just to warn you , you will buy back Santa Maria when you’re my age. ( 65 ). Santa Maria is solidly in my top 100 as a mid-weight euro that plays in 60 minutes. Again, thank you for the videos!😷😷❤️

I must be weird. I never cull games. sitting at 300, yeah, have some I don't play, but I just can't cull.

There is some interesting discussion around the theme from the designer of Santa Maria on BGG. Though the happiness tokens are problematic when you think about what they actually are.

Yeah hence saying it's controversial - the theme doesn't affect me, but it's bad for others.

The happiness tokens are not a problem for me.... nor anybody else I play with.

@@benlauson555 thats your choice. Knowing the conquistadors are rewarded with happiness for killing and raping the indigenous people is something I can get away from. We are all different.

@@PadsandPawns ha ha you got that right! Like I said... Is a 0 problem for me and (so far) everyone else I play that game with. Glad you've got an issue with it though, perhaps there is hope for entire boardgame community after all.

@timisaverage that’s my take. There are so many games out there I don’t need to play these ones. I actually really like the gameplay here too and the designer has made some interesting points on BGG but still the happiness thing just seems at best really insensitive.

i enjoyed reykholt as a solo game but it wont be sticking around in my collection either i went back to it recently and i just found it a bit light for me after id solved how to get lots of points lol

@@TheBrokenMeeple i wouldnt go as far as to say an exploit but i found after about 10 -15 plays it was hard to lose and it kinda devolved into beat your own score kinda thing.. need to try some proper uwe to try next
