You wonder what he could have been if he had been stronger mentally. I think the craziest thing about this is how many of these are hit with his weight on his back foot or moving backwards. Absolutely incredible to get that much pace off your back foot.
@unknownartistman51556 ай бұрын
imho, Kyrgios would have been no 1 I would go for a stretch and say he would be top 10 all time Now hear me out, why I say this ? First things first, even Djokovic said something similar, but lets put that aside. Nick has pure talent and feel for the ball,space,swing,direction, pacing. His forehand for the most part is atrocious but if he worked on it... Other than that he has nuclear serve and forehand and is deadly overall because he is not bound by any "honorable" nonsense tennis has like no under arm serve and stuff like that. Nick will serve under arm, meaning you not only have to worry will he go left and right when serving, also worry about forward and backwards, also he will 2nd serve as if it was the 1st serve Plus his antics and his mind play he already showed us He would simply keep you on the edge the whole time, you would never know what to expect, will he serve super strong, should I stay back or do I come forward, what if he under arm serves ? Unpredictable, explosive, dangerous....weak minded however.

Don think so, this kind one off shot is low percetange shot.. a very difficult shot, the ones that does this that they cant withstand long rally with patient and fortitude, which one of the greats are capable of like djokovic, nadal. You cant play this kind of shot everytime, it might be look good on highlight reels but it's just a small part of tennis match.
@ioannistsokos68763 ай бұрын
Not all players can cope with the demand of being one of the best. Yes Kyrgios could be the "big fifth" however his goal is not to commit to the sport, and he just tries to enjoy playing. That's why he is not participating in many tournaments, as he prefers to enjoy life. Which is not bad, at least he is honest with himself.

Even Safin or Nalbandian worked way harder and more professionally than Nick for some years(thus, they won more). If that's not talent-related, i don't know what is. And despite that, he managed to be ranked 10th in 2014, on his tennis talents alone. Some people are just gifted with off-the-charts raw talent, Gulbis was one of them. No. What you don't realize is that every player on tour can produce these kinds of shots. But they're smart enough to realize it's not a winning strategy because tennis is about keeping a safe enough margin to be successful over many points. That's why Kyrgios doesn't win anything major and he knows deep down he can't when it comes down to more than lucky highlight reel shots.
