Respect to Brandon as we share a name and I've always enjoyed his content. But I have to disagree with his statement that hunters will shoot as many deer as they are allowed. I hunted Georgia in the 90's and 00's on my own lease and surrounded by other private leases. Georgia has an extremely liberal deer allotment and folks never shot more than what they needed for food, we only have so much freezer space. A typical year would be 2 or 3 does early and then a buck during the rut.

You guys should look at the Bp Oil Buck poached in Oklahoma. The guy killed a 220” deer, out of season, off a road at night, and when discovered he had 103 other I tagged antler sets in his home. He had only tagged 4 deer legally his entire life. He got a $5-10k fine and banned from hunting for 20 years. Does that crime fit the punishment?

1:41:57 hard to say a 200 in deer is or isn’t harder to kill than a 160 unless you’ve done both @jared 😂 all in good fun, still got to respect the Bowmars and how they got to where they are. As y’all have mentioned in prior podcasts, sacrifices in other areas got y’all to own the farms y’all have. It’s great conversation piece to hate on them or be skeptical, but have to put the respect where it’s due.

I agree with needing an agency to regulate and manage the resource. These people are educated with degrees associated with managing the resource and that's why they are selected for the job. But when you allow the public to decide how to manage the resource then your not doing your job. No management is not conservation. RIGHT!

Great job guys!Huge fan of Brandon and so glad to see him on here. The biggest issue with Bowmar spearing the bear and loosing his sponsors was because they used pigs blood I believe to put on their face, the spear and all over to make it look more dramatic with the blood.

It seems it all comes down to "cheating" or perceived Cheating. Its the same thing that happens in sports with top level athletes and if they even get accused are then deemed as a cheater. The Bowmar's are easy to not like because they come off so rich and not like 90% of the people who watch their show. I think you guys said it best that they never really faced it directly. In general, the entire industry is under a microscope because the other 90% of people will never get to experience. So its easy for people to not relate, then when Josh struggles to connect with people it just gets worse. As always, good content and good perspective. Nebraska is part of the pact for losing license in the other 47 states, however it says "may" lose their license in other states. Not sure how that is enforced.

I commented on one of the bowmars videos about their situation saying it was fishy how everything was handled they legit commented back asking me how it was fishy. I was completely dumbfounded. I mean clearly they’re going to say whatever they want to defend themselves but still, it’s odd as hell the way everything was handled.

Late to the party here but do the Bowmars have deer suppliments? They are jacked and have their own fitness suppliments so are they on to something to give these deer to grow them to 200" faster than normal? Im seriously curious and I havnt looked into their products for deer or products on their fitness side, just something to think about. Curious about anybody elses thoughts on that. Great podcast guys! Keep em coming!

A crossbow is 10x more ethical than any vertical bow. I think the word you’re looking for is fair. Is it fair that someone can go and buy a 450 FPS crossbow, shoot it two times, and take it to the field and hunt during the archery season competing at the same time with someone and who has been practicing with a vertical or a bow for 30 years? That is a question, depending on who’s answering I have been shooting a bow for a few years, but still hunt with a crossbow because I firmly believe it is more ethical to the animal imo

It's more ethical with a rifle too.Rifle season is in for two weeks not 7.
@Iowa_Whitetail

BINGO!!!!👆👆👆. A rifle would be the solution if this is the argument!! If u like crossbows- put them in their own season!!! & bologne they wound less deer…. More hunters out (many that have no clue what they doing) shooting further, riskier shots, poor angles, on & on. Deer wounded with bolts are commonplace in any state I’ve been to when used during archery. The mentality first post stated in essence- instant site in & go - gets lots of inexperienced hunters making tons of poor shots. PUT THEM IN THEIR OWN SEASON!!!! JUST LIKE GUNS or ML’s!!! Leave them out of archery. The group that wants them in archery is the crossbow manufacturers & lobbyists - they are PAYING BIG $ To make it happen. NO!!!!!

@IOWAWHITETAIL - Iowa Whitetail TN used to have it where crossbows were for youth and disabled during archery season and then open for everyone to use during muzzleloader season. That's the way it should be I think. Now day the switched it to where anyone can use crossbows during archery season.
@LDJ42069
@LDJ42069 Жыл бұрын
@@Iowa_Whitetail the argument is not whether I want to use a crossbow vs a bow. I’d love to use a vertical bow if I was seasoned enough to use it but I am aware enough as a hunter to know I’d rather not take the higher chance of wounding an animal with a vert bow. I’m a rifle hunter primarily I hand load my own rounds and prefer to use muzzle loader. But in my state (Texas) archery season allows crossbows so being at the skill level I am currently I will take any advantage I can. One day when I am practiced enough I will definitely take my vertical on a hunt, until then it’s only fair to the game that I use a means that is more effective IMO.

I can't see someone getting fined 120,000 dollar's and not be guilty of something. I don't watch him anymore, and have not seen or heard of this situation so I really can't say. It just does seem alittle suspicious with everything you guy's have said. I have watched a few of his videos awhile ago and he had an arrogance about him that somewhat rubbed me wrong. Also about crossbows.. A few years back my eyesight took a turn for the worse and I could no longer look through my peep and focus my pin on the deer in those lowlight conditions of the morning and evening. I missed 4 big buck close and wounded another in 2021, I was devastated and didn't want to hunt anymore. I ended up buying a crossbow and put a nice scope on it and have killed 10 deer with it already. If it wasn't for crossbows I don't think I'd be out doing the thing I love most in life, next to my Son.
