@@clarekelsey2774 Well...if anything happens, the propane tank is your worst enemy...it could catch fire and explode and you dont want to be near that thing when that happens....so it's better to keep your extinguisher in a safer spot. Also, keeping it near the bed in a van is perfect, since you'll be able to reach it immediately when something happens and you're asleep

Another thing is, you're supposed to have the gas mounted in a sealed compartment, with outside access and a hole in the floor for safety reasons 😮

Fire extinguisher near the gas cylinder is not advisable. If there is fire due to gas you can not reach to the extinguisher.

Carbon monoxide is a heavy gas, heavier then air so you might want to keep the detector at a lower height so you won’t suffocate in your sleep. And I love your van! Have a great time van-liveing!

I don’t think there’s ever the perfect conversion, there’s always going to be compromises but I think Big Red is close to perfect and you’ve done a fantastic job. I love the ceiling! Good choice with the fabric bulkhead curtain to block out the cabin. Enjoy you travels and look forward to some camper van recipes 😉

I noticed that the US and the UK do vans differently. The UK always blocks off the connection between van and drivers area. So they put the kitchen in front. The US has it open so they put the kitchen on the side. Not sure which is better.
