I Noticed in a picture...one of the Dogs had a "Curled Tail"...I was taught by Old timers that a Pitbull with a curled tail is not.of Pureblood...and even the Standard says the tail when relaxed should hang down between the legs like a "Pump handle" and should never be Curled or Carried over the back. Maybe the dog was wagging in the picture.

I have found in my experience that weight pulling can give you an inclination of the gameness of the dog. Many years ago when I was not a law abiding citizen I knew, worked with and participated in dog fighting. I also went to dog pulling shows with my dogs. I found that the dogs that were shown to be game in the pit were the same dogs that would not quit when pulling weights.

I got my first Pitty because the owner couldn't handle him. I visited their business every week and this dog loved my visits. When they were going to close they asked if I would take him. I did, and took him home. The first thing he did was to latch onto our Fox Terrier in the front hall. He was relegated to the basement for over a month, he was given his time in the back yard (1/2 acre) for exercise and required duties but we did not put in her company for this time until he was aware of her smell and his surroundings. Our family of 2 adults and 4 kids, finally, sat in a circle , surrounding Zoe, and he was let out. Ran right through the circle like she didn't exist. They became good buddies. He wasn't the original style, as you have pursued , with my hope you continue, but a ripped 70 lb dog with the same perfect configuration. Oh, he was a 'Red nose" , and as you have stated, what does that really mean. He was incorrigible in public with other dogs but LOVED people.

@36:46 you mentioned thicker bones in the front but earlier this year I attended an ADBA show in Poplarville and the dogs that were being picked were fine thin bones dogs I didn't understand how a dog could be fucking 60lbs with brittle bones.

11:45...why is this Dogs tail Curled?...curled tail a no-no for Pure-bred APBT!

The biggest problem is, backyard breeders... the breeds "watered down" drastically!!! Americans have this HUGE issue with wanting the largest dogs over a true working dog... so if its a smaller dogs with massive endurance high prey drive, they choose the one thats larger to breed neglecting the functionality of that larger dog.. 99% of "pits", arent pits lol... ive seen thousands of videos of 100lb pits!!! Ive seen tons of malinois/dutch breeders that will mix the breeds together as theyre looking fir the highest working dog possible!!! They dont necessarily care if its a purebred mal or dutchie, they just want the hardest working breed they can get!! When we got our central asian shepherd, i ask the seller how big he'd get, his response was "some people get dogs for looks while others get dogs for what theyre bred for!"... and this dog, can run forever in hot temps at fast speeds... without rest... super impressive!

I think you are a responsible breeder and have a True Love of the Breed...but you did Not mention that Not every Pitbull owner back in the Early days, used their Dogs for "Pit Fighting". Many People from Ireland and England who brought their dogs with them, or got one here in America, used their dogs for "work". We all know that the pitbull is an extremely versatile breed and can be taught to do most anything besides the fact that they are natural 'Hunters'. And many people used them for literally putring food on the table by Hunting wirh his Owner...they can also herd...and defend stock and property as well as any breed. Unfortunately someone discovered the Natural "prey Drive" and ro be honest..'pure love of Combat they have and put them in the pit against unthinkable adversaries. I Curious tho...How do You as a Breeder and "confromation judge' develop the Breed and continue its legacy when we All know that putting "Standards" on a Breed almost always Breeds out "Performance capability",functionality and the True Essence of rhe Breed! Because with out those 'Inherent" Traits"...what the Pitbull would be is a very Muscular 'Average joe' of a Dog. The 20yrs of experience i have has shown me "Diversity' in Physical Appearance of the breed. Becauase if we put performance first regardless of head size or height, color or coat etc...we keep what makes the breed what it is...and thats in my humble Opinion the greatest breed on Earth! How do you juggle appearance and Performance? Ive seen Pits used for hunting Hogs (PURE BRED) that have very different looks. Some more 'Hound' like, some more like a Terrier and some in between. How do You Do It?!
