Like the big man said, for the month of November, I will match most (if not all) donations made by patrons, super chats, etc., and anyone who donates can DM me a message on the Discord (1-2 sentences recommended) that will be put on a Christmas card that, with the money, will be given to Burger on the 25th of December as a nice way to end the year. I highly encourage you to get creative or vulgar with the messages, because I will read them aloud in a video, no matter the content, and it will be displayed on-screen. For those donations at or above $10 in USD equivalent monopoly monies, you can also send me a picture or short video to be displayed.

Pigeon shaman sounds awesome. I imagine like a cross between a drone pilot, a Pokemon trainer, and Mike Tyson. Imagine being able to commune with pigeons, have them trail someone or multiple someones, attack like in that Alfred Hitchcock movie, see out of their eyes, inhabit their bodies, turn into pigeons, turn into a flock of pigeons, become a giant pigeon, summon pigeons (the ultimate summon). Plus, you can become a master pigeon trainer, and be a sick fighter with incredible movement (footwork and body/head movement) that makes you almost impossible to hit AND improved chances for critical hits or maybe like a backstab/sneak attack type move after an opponent misses you. Dude pigeon shaman would f@*k someones day right up! I want one!!!

My favorite idea for a druid? An ordinary house mouse living in a city, who gets city powers and can shapeshift into humanoid races. Who fights via summoning mundane but intricate weapons, or magically set up city walls and siege engines, and can turn whatever clothes he's wearing into full plate armor. The environment is the city or town, and that rodent's 'spirit animal' is the human hobo in an allyway.

On the subject of druids and shamans, in a call of cuthulu campaign I was in, we had a Native American tracker who was a scout in the US army. He ended up becoming *the* spirit of all condors, and slowly stopped being a man who could become a condor, and a condor who could become a man, loosing who he was for the place of becoming what he really is.

Brennan Lee Mulligan has a character who's, metaphorically speaking, both Doctor Frankenstein and his monster, with the role of Igor being played by the DM; he regularly dies and is a pioneer of necronautics, exploring the afterlife; i don't mean he's literally named Frankenstein or anything but he has bolts in his neck and has been repeatedly unlifed

Honestly this makes me think a druid would potentially make one of the best for deceiving turning into different people and seeding chaos within a society that threatens your home through expansion leading to self destruction. Imagine making it look like the king killed his cousin and that the queen has been sleeping with said cousin along with other things to topple an empire through political chaos. I mean why couldn't a half-ling turn into a dragonborn? I mean they can turn into a fucking bear or a bird so it shouldn't be an issue as long as they are somewhat involved within your environment.

I really like the idea of shamans being the ones to communicate with ancestors of their people. In your words, I guess he'd be a ghost shaman, but for their own ancestors. Goes very well with e.g. nomadic tribes, imagine a horse rider tribe with thousands of ghosts of past warriors behind them, who train them, commune with their shamans for battle strategies, or even interact with the world in a limited way.

I always liked connectting the nature classes with dreams. Maybe the shawman gets visions and messages from dreams with his spirits. Maybe the druid is interconnected with the dreams and thoughts of nature subconsciously. Maybe the witches connect with other witches by hijacking these dreams as a controlled mind network of subconscious minds. Especially if you look a HP Lovecraft's Dreamlands there is a lot you can do.

thank you this was helpful for my own settings and stories, can't wait for magi and clerics whenever that comes up. although i have few questions. one was would wonder magic-users fall under? been trying to figure out how to have gypsy as wonderers would or if they would have different magic than learned arcana (wizards, warlocks, bards) or gods (clarics, pallys, favored souls). i was going to just have it be a poor vision of mage and/or spirit medium but it seems overplayed. what do you think?

I think that a lion shaman would be similar to a more charismatic and majestic version of Gogol's Puzaty Patsyuk, i.e. the guy who is a sort of seer and has some other strange magic powers, but spends his days sleeping or drowsing 20 hours a day or just roaming around the countryside singing warlike songs in a rather rude voice. One has to attend him with a great care, always offering a piglet, a lamb, a goatling or some other animal of that nature and never turning one's back to him.
@aduffyguy6 жыл бұрын
Oh and also druids don't have to be just about the life portion of nature. A druid of death could worship mold and Fugus. Maybe he can reanimate the dead due to his contain to the dead and rotting aspects of life. A good example is druids of MTG's Ravnica setting that are in the organization Golgari.
