Visited Grand Canyon this week was immediately able to see how this video helped me be safe in the South Rim. The information like the "road isn't paved well so watch your step" and "hold onto your hats" is completely relevant and helpful when visiting the canyons. The group was able to complete the the Hermit's rest route efficiently within hours due to this video. It also allowed us some time to go on the Desert-View drive and orange route due to the time saved by watching and learning from this video. Would recommend everyone watching this video before going on Hermits Rest route. Thanks.

Great video! Going into the canyon through Hermit trail is pretty incredible too if you ever have a chance to hike down into it.

That one is definitely high up on my list actually. Am hoping to do that one later this year. Thanks so much for the comment and for watching!!!

Just visited the South Rim this week and Hopi point was my favorite view! This video helped me plan my day in the South Rim. Very detailed and relevant content for anyone visiting Grand Canyon. Thank you, Cactus Atlas!

I walked all the way and yes I lost my favorite hat that day… also they do have some friendly disable and elderly trails 🥰

Have heard many tales about favorite hats flying off into the canyon. One has to wonder how many the rangers collect each year. 😅

based off your video, I would rank them 1. Hopi 2. Pima 3. Hermit's 4. Mohave. Maybe think of getting a Go Pro, renting a bike and doing the full Red Line!

We actually already bought a GoPro (you can see some of the footage from it in the Angel's Trail hike) and are going to be using it more in the future. But funny you mention that idea of bikes! Just the other day we thought about doing that on a future trip!

I am taking my dad and he has advanced arthritis and limited mobility. About how long are the walks to the look out from the bus stops. Thanks for this incredible video

Thank you! It's hard to judge exact distances but in general the stops are not terribly far. I found this PDF on the NPS's website - hopefully it might help -- www.nps.gov/grca/planyourvisit/upload/GRCA-Accessibility-Guide-2018.pdf

Great video and very informative! My family and I are going to be at the canyon in the middle of October. Hoping to take a lot of pictures. Do you have any information on drone flying? From what I understand it’s restricted in the parks. Are there areas outside of the park where it’s permitted or recommend?
@CactusAtlas Жыл бұрын
Glad to be of help! Hope you have a fantastic time. As for drones, national parks do not permit them. We don't really have recommendations, unfortunately.

I really enjoyed this video and your commentary with suggestions I'll definitely follow when I go. You mentioned the emptiness, so I was wondering when you filmed this? I know you said you were out in the early morning, but what month/year? I'm trying to plan for an early May trip, both in terms of crowd expectation and weather/clothing. Thanks!.
@CactusAtlas2 жыл бұрын
This was filmed in September of 2019.

Thanks for the extra info; I wasn't sure if you'd posted around the same time as filming. Again, a lot of information and great shots; appreciate your work.

I love your GC videos, they are very informative. I would rather be in my own car though, is taking the shuttle a must to see these points or can I drive myself?
@CactusAtlas3 жыл бұрын
Unless things have changed, you do need to take a shuttle to access some places (like the red stops), or rent or bring a bike as that is a very valid way to get around. So it’s a mix. Some are accessible by car, and some are not. The north rim might be more your speed as the only way to get from point to point is by car (and way less people).
@traffictraffic3 жыл бұрын
@@CactusAtlas okay thanks. I did watch your north rim video and I think you are right about that.
@marychieng2553 Жыл бұрын
So if I understand this correctly, if I park my car at grand canyon visitor center, I can take blue route then transfer to red route and we basically route back ward ?? Thanks, nice video
@CactusAtlas Жыл бұрын
The shuttles all connect with one another along the rim allowing guests easy access, yes. You can check the Grand Canyon's website for up to date information about shuttles, routes, times they run, etc. This video was made a couple years ago so unsure what, if anything, might have changed since then.

What stops have the shortest walks for views? Thank you!

Most are all pretty close by. I'm not sure either of us has paid attention to which is the shortest. 🤔
