Do you know where the ratio mode is on the fx 991 de x (the german version) ?

A quick look at the manual for the DEX and it doesn't seem to have it although it is on other Classwiz models (but not all). It's a shame they don't make a "universal" Classwiz with all the features, but I guess they are tailored to the education systems of different countries. Shame really, but there are features on the DEX that the EX doesn't have too such as GCD or Verify mode.

That's true. My niece showed me her fx991 bought in the middle east. Upon comparing, there were features that are not included.

It's much easier setting up a equation of two fractions and solving with the solver 😒

I think this feature is unnecessary, if you are wise enough to setup the problem in way this calculator can solve and interpret the answer you can as well solve in default mode or using solve ,that would take similar amount of time i guess.

You are correct that you could solve it, as you say, in calculate mode using fractions and solve. I guess the advantage is that it is a simplified, uncluttered approach that they can go to with specific types of questions. This will appeal to some students (and teachers), but not everyone would need it.
