Ogdoaidic REVIVES ORCUST?! The Next Meta Contender? Deck Profile, Combo Tutorial, + Budget Options

If you guys are interested in playing the Orcust version but can’t get any Girsus, here’s a budget alternative I‘ve come up with. Play 1 Armageddon Knight, 1 Dark Grepher and 1 Reinforcements of the Army. Drawing any of these plus the Lv 4 Ogdoadic Cali just showed is full combo. But do keep in mind that it’s a budget replacement. It’s not nearly as good as Girsu since they need an additional extender (aka the Ogdoadics) to be full Orcust combo. Girsu doesn’t. That’s why you probably want to cut the deck down to 40 and maximize on Allure/extenders to increase your chances in seeing the Ogdoadics. However, the Dark Warrior package has actually one advantage over Girsu. They can send Ogdoadic monsters as well which can come up in certain scenarios. I hope I could help.

This deck honestly seems pretty consistent, and I used to play Orcust alot and Ogdoadic helps Orcust's issues alot, which was sonetimes lack of bodies, how hand dependant some conbos were, even then Orcust was still playable, just struggled to the Meta's high consistency, but this 100% helps it alot!

I think running lib the keyblade master and WL succession would be better and the rokket package, drop the allures. Lib sets from deck to extend and spins a card non targeting when linked away and rocket package is free chaos link or savage

Honestly love playing with the deck profile. I absolutely love orcust and I actually play orcust scrap as well, but I enjoy running two twin scrap dragons. They really help break my opponent's board and dingursu is just to strong

W/ my current more pure build of Orcusts I've maximized consistency and don't really have any drawbacks in my deck. Every card goes into another and it's also great early,mid, and late game. I've been having so much fun and will never tire since deck has so much versatility and adaptability as well as my favorite part it's super far from linear plays all these other decks have nowadays. Great idea splashing these 2 engines together.

Wouldn’t it be great to play 1 copy of schism? That way when you link off the apkalone you can add schism and maybe dump an orcust or snake? Then you can side 1 Ariel for any grave centric matchups. Now you have access to winda on your opponents turn with schism

You can target 1 Effect Monster on the field; players cannot activate that target's effects on the field this turn. Winda does not activate effects so this does not out it

Of course but you need to play more starters then like Scrap Recycler for example because other than Ogdoadic Shaddoll can’t really get you into Orcust. The best way would be obviously to fuse off Orcust names in your hand but since they’re dark, you‘d be stuck under your own Winda. I recommend playing only a small Shaddoll package like Cali here does. Also this package seems so good, I really believe it might become standard for going second decks at some point.

I am just so curious cause orcust lock you into darks .... The reptiles that have the summon effects can stop you from summoning orcust cause you can only summon reptiles while they are in the field and if your forced to use an orcust effect half the deck is dead... That's just TOO restrictive with effects

you bypass that by using the orcust effects after you use your reptile effects. Same case happened with the old combo variants that used Knightmare Mermaid with Sky Striker and Trickstars

I am on the verge of playing a dragon ruler varient of ogdoadic using both debris dragon and tempest. Also I want to point out that you need at least one Dark Magician and at least 1 other dragon effect monster in order to play the verte/dragoon combo.

How about this: after summoning IP Masquerena and having Overlord on the field, end your turn. During the opponent’s turn, proceed to summon Dingirsu from your graveyard. Now you have 3 monsters, just wait your opponent to summon one on their field and Link Summon Underworld Goddess with their monster and yours. Would that be Too Stronk????

well, that wouldn't work actually since you need to activate an orcust monster's effect to revive dingirsu and that would lock you into darks. and underworld goddess is light unfortunately.
