This is the son mentioned in this video. My father turned 80 this year and for Father’s Day I wanted to gift him a true luxury car to drive while he still can. This will be the nicest car my parents ever owned being frugal old-world immigrants. This channel is part of our nightly television programming as a family and I am truly honored that AMD offered to make a video so that my dad could watch it back in NY. He would have loved to visit the shop but IL is a bit far for him to make the trek. We are truly touched by the lovely comments, they brought a beaming smile to his face as he read them. We are truly grateful to AMD and The Car Care Nut community for making this so special for us. Thank you ❤

Miles for business in GM cars Chevy, Pontiac,Olds, Buick, Cadillac. After retirement, bought the LS430 and did 15 seasonal trips to Florida with 16-17 hour non stops. Absolutely painless. Wish I had the 430LS when pounding the road for business. As a 86 year old, I know your 80 year Dad will be ecstatic with this when renewed. The cost of maintenance has been ridiculously modest.

I have my father's 1989 Ford Bronco Eddie Baur Dark Blue on Tan. It was his love and he treated with care. It sat for a few years after he passed away. My mom called and asked if I would like to have it. I took it immediately. My brother and I tore it down and got everything back in perfect mechanical order. We fixed the rear tailgate because they're known to leak and rust like his was. The interior was mint because my dad was OCD about keeping things clean, something I inherited. After we got it running perfectly, I knew my brother was going to want it more than me. Please don't hate on my mom for not offering it to him, they had a falling out that was definitely my brothers fault. After we got it back up and running....I handed him the keys to it and told him that dad would have wanted him to have it more than me. My dad knew I was in to large cars....not Broncos and trucks. My brother was the bronco and truck guy. He literally wept. He was happy just to be involved in helping get it in perfect shape again. But when those keys came out, he lost it. It made me so proud to see how much he appreciate it and he lets me drive it if I ever want to. I miss my dad so much. He was not a fancy man and was perfectly happy in a simply truck or something like a Bronco. I truly hope he would have been proud of us making sure his baby stayed on the road and that he would be proud of me for making sure it went to the son that would appreciate it the most. Even my mother agreed that I did the right thing by giving it to my brother. I loved my dad immensely. I only ever want to honor the family name he passed down. I am definitely an LS 430 man myself. My dad always said I took after my grandfather, his dad, that passed away when I was only 5. He always said that "grand dad" would appreciate my love for large sedans.

I have just done something similar for a younger guy whose father died and left him something a lot cooler than any Toyota. His dads 1957 Thunderbird had sat for 17 years and was poorly maintained mechanically prior to that.. 45 parts and assemblies were necessary to make it mechanically sound, most of them involving the brakes and cooling system, but also a transmission tailshaft housing which was damaged and is only accessible by removing the engine and transmission as those cars had no under car access to the transmission due to the X type full frame. Much more enjoyable that the usual Toyota/Lexus timing belt, strut, brake, axle bearing and rack and pinion replacements which have been over 50% of my jobs over the last year.
