Repairing Toyota Lexus Power Windows Wont Work

In this video I discuss a common issue effecting Toyota and Lexus vehicles where power window functions quit after battery service or even a dead battery after charging. Repairing this issue may be a simple as following these simple steps. The subject vehicle is a 2004 Lexus GX470 however this information may be helpful for other Toyota and Lexus vehicles with similar symptoms.

This video help many people to be sure. I have returned to other videos for help. Most recently your video on the 5.7 intake manifold gasket replacement and upgraded fuel injection system. After only 14, 959 miles my intake gaskets failed again. I found out that the shop that replaced the engine use cheap gaskets. I installed the Fel-Pro kit you suggested and installed the Multi port fuel injectors. Man, this truck has never run so smooth!

Oh excellent! I cant believe they still sell the old style gaskets and shops still use them...Also they seem to put RTV on the ports which only helps the gasket to slip off the side and begin leaking. Glad you got her fixed for good now.

Can’t thank you enough for this video. Had the starter replaced on my Lexus LS460 and for some reason only the passenger side window wasn’t working from the driver side console. Felt kinda foolish doing the up/down 5 times in my driveway but it worked! Thanks again!

My problem was not associated with a battery change but it worked on our 2007 RX 350 that had the same problem. It was only on our passenger rear window. Thank you very much.

In case this doesn't work, try this instead: with windows all the way down, 1. press down 2. press up 3. press down 4. press up and hold. Do the first 3 in quick succession, no pauses. Dont hold until the 2nd up. This worked for me on my 2007 gx 470. I had this problem today when I installed a new battery then rolled down my windows . The passenger window and rear windows didnt go up. I did the steps above and that fixed the problem. Hope this helps someone in the future. Good luck everyone.

Rolling Up/Down 5 times is not necessary. Just need to roll it down and up once, but hold it up for ~2 seconds for each window.

The first time I encountered this, it was after a dealer warranty repair of a water pump. On return to me, the rear left window wouldn't go down. A quick search of the owners manual led to a procedure that was easy to follow.

Another method, is go to each window location switch. Turn key on. Press til window goes down, keep holding for 4 seconds. Then, press to roll up and hold for 4 seconds.

I have a Lexus es 330, my drivers side window will go down, but when I press the button to go up it goes up and then starts down again. Will your fix work for this? My other windows are fine. Do I have to start from the passenger window or can I just do the drivers side only?

What if I can’t roll them up? Only the drivers side is working now. At first I could work them from the door itself but not driver door. Only driver works. This happened after a door change I couldn’t work the other doors from driver side. I was ok with it until yesterday I my air went out and I had to get a new compressor. Once he was done with the compressor, I tried to let my windows back up and leave but the windows will not go up. I tried replacing the switch and that isn’t working. Any suggestions? Wiring I’m guessing

What are your thoughts on Blue Devil oil stop leak. I used some engine cleaners and noticed oil drips on valve cover seal and main seal does Blue Devil have any negative affects on camshaft actuator or other engine parts. I do not recommend engine fuel and oil treatment cleaner after 100k miles I thing the gaskets and seals are vulnerable. What are yourrecommendations. Is Lucas products good for protecting seals and gaskets ? I also add Lucas fuel injector treatment to each tank of gas I'm wondering if this solvent deteriorates seals and gaskets. I followed the recommendations of 4 oz. To 10 gallons of fuel they say you can add it to every tank.

Tim I have 470gx 2006 I changed the batteries and after that the passenger window didn’t go up and down at all but all the others are working great what should I do people told m to get new power switch for all of them it’s about 330 with out labor .. help please Tim if you can ,,, thank you

? 2005 Lexus ES 330(74,000 mi.) rear passenger window will not open. I hear a click when I push the button. How to fix ? ? #2 same car driver side front window some times works perfectly. Other times it opens then won’t go all the way back up. I have to turn off my radio & AC B4 it will go all the way back up. I have put in 2 new 20amp fuses in the interior fuse box. The car cranks right up with no hesitation. What is wrong ? How can I fix this problem?

Can someone answer this: When removing the head bolts is it necessary to remove the camshafts even if you can get to the head bolts without removing the camshafts. I believe the only reason to remove the camshafts is cause they're in the way of removing the head bolts, right?
