Its well known about the Death Wobble associated with some F250's. It has been suggested by some that the problem may be due to not enough caster in the stock set up. Due these replacement have any caster changes or they built to stock specs. ? Do you have any further info on correcting the Death Wobble problem. Thanks.

There's 1° of caster built into the Carli Fabricated Arm. Additionally, 2.5" and 4.5" Carli Suspensions are provided with shims to provide an additional 1° over stock for a total of 2° more than stock. We've tested these trucks to 7.5° of caster with no negative result - everyone would benefit from these 2°.

Curious if failed radius arm bushings can cause loose steering on a 2011 F350 SRW? I am finding my steering is very loose and I have to rotate my steering wheel more to the left in a turn than the right. I’ve got a new red top steering box and everything up front is new. Only thing I haven’t touched is the radius arms.
@thecarlisuspension2 жыл бұрын
Failed bushings on an 11 year old truck can absolutely cause additional play. If it's substantial, you're likely looking at failed steering linkage or a worn gearbox. Compound this with tired bushings in the radius arms and axle and it can get really sloppy, for sure!

Is the spherical joint needed since there aren’t spherical joints at the front of the arm? I don’t see how the back could shift left and right with the axle staying still and the arm being fixed straight...
@thecarlisuspension5 жыл бұрын
The spherical bearing in the rear allows bind free movement in all directions even with two fixed front mount points, yes. Left side lifts and right side drops, axle will roll and arms will lean. Moving on this axis (even with the front binding), the rear joints will not limit as they do from the factory.

Great video. I love to see how you guys make these awesome products. Can't wait to see more. Reminds me of the quality and craftsmanship of some of the custom firearms gunsmiths out there. Do you ever plan to build parts/kits for the smaller trucks? Ford is making a Tremor in the Ranger "mid-size" line, but it looks to me like it's nothing but an FX4 with a slightly upgraded suspension and a few appearance items for $4K+. I'd rather buy an FX4 and spend the extra money on a Carli kit and some Method wheels...

Hi! I'm running a 6" pro comp lift on my 2016, i was wondering if these along with your drop bracket would fit with the setup, as i noticed they allow full travel of 37's on your 4.5" kit without rubbing. I don't do any extreme off roading, so they won't be subjected to much abuse other than daily driving tasks, but if you have any input, I'd be glad to have it!
@thecarlisuspension3 жыл бұрын
These are for a 4.5" when paired with the drops. There MAY be enough caster correction to get them to work on a 6" but the axle position may be altered by the additional lift. Really, it's hard to say and I wouldn't "recommend" it but I'm sure it would install and drive fine.

Did not see it mentioned. But a big advantage I see to the Carli Arms is the built in caster. Not necessarily having to rely on caster shims which lay your axles back in the housing. Never heard anything negative but that bugs me most about the OEM arm.
@DdDten5 жыл бұрын
Off curiosity you had said ford did a good job engineering their arms and there wasn’t really a need to replace, would it be safe to say dodge did a poor design on their factory arms or would be highly recommended to replace if upgraded to carli systems? Just curious.
@thecarlisuspension5 жыл бұрын
The engineering isn't an issue on either arm, they're both sufficiently strong for the application for which they were engineered... stock suspension. When you start pushing the limits of the vehicle, the stamped arms make sense to replace as one side impact from a rock could fold either arm. This is why our's are internally gusseted, they can handle a load from any angle.
@benjaminfisher7504 жыл бұрын
Why Carli radius arms over a 4-link?
@thecarlisuspension4 жыл бұрын
Because the factory radius arm design works fantastic when you tune for them. They offer a level of stability lacking with a 4-link in the Super Duty Platform.
@BroadcastBuddy5 жыл бұрын
Nice product. I would probably buy a set of you offered a three link style. The problem is the four bolt axle mounts allow poor articulation. If you offered the passenger arm with a single mount to the factory axle bracket with perhaps a damper mount to the top mount, you'd have better articulation. The stock Ford arms are nice because they're light and exceptionally strong. They must use tempered steel because I had one to use as scrap steel on my Jeep and it trashed my hole saw. Look at the crash test between the Ram and Ford 250. Ford's don't deform while the Ram arms collapse. Mild vs tempered steel.
@thecarlisuspension5 жыл бұрын
The axle bushings allow enough deflection with the "four bolt" style mounting. Yes, an axle plunger shock (as can be seen in our 6" ram radius arm conversions for the 2003-12 platform) would allow more articulation at a significant price increase with the elimination of the factory axle bushings. In this case, the arms combined with the axle bushings provides plenty of deflection given articulation isn't what we're after as a primary goal in the Super Duty Platform - Budget, stability and utilitarian use are better served by our current design.
