Obsessed with my 2019 odyssey elite. I would never have gotten the top trim but we bought it used last year when nothing else was available and now that I have all the features I don’t know how I lived without them! It has the wireless charger, DVD player and even a freakin vacuum in the back. I have 3 little men in car seats currently. My 1 and 4 year olds are in the second row with the middle seat removed and my 6 year old is in a high back booster in the 3rd row. We have grandparents and preteen neighbors who drive with us often and the magic slide just cannot be beat. Def not the prettiest minivan but I don’t even care. I do think having the roof racks on top makes her look a bit sportier though. Anyway, if you can find one used that’s a higher trim level don’t sleep on it! Can’t sing her praises enough.

i agree, im a man and i don't feel embarrassed about a minivan. i know where it comes from, but i always thought it had a bad stigma attached to it. a stigma that never made sense to me, station wagons used to get that same stigma. but you can be a car person, and still appreciate what a minivan offers. it's true that Americans love trucks, but there not quite as practical for families. Crossovers have a character that's hard to ignore, but if you have a family of 4 or 5, a minivan becomes an important option to consider. some 3 row SUV's can get you by in a pinch, but despite how big they might seem on the outside, that 3rd row is always a question mark. unless you get the Chevy Tahoe or Traverse, both have a 3rd row that's better than most out there, you don't have alot of options. because most SUV's with a 3rd row are often not big enough to fit adults comfortably, but even teenagers would be a tight squeeze in the back. another thing with most minivans, access to the 3rd row is alot easier. now some like the new Sienna, it's a hybrid only, so the second row seats can't be removed. it's because there equipped with air bags, but there's also a sensor which is required by law to have kids in seats. it's why most modern vehicles will beap at you, if you don't have the belt connected. however that's only for the Sienna you can't remove the 2nd seats.

Owned a Honda Odyssey 2012 till a week ago where it got into a crash and the whole back was basically not repairable. For the 12 years owned, it was an amazing van for travelling, loading, family drives and what not. It never really needed fixing, it really was a super vehicle for the amount of years we used it for. Super nice to see the evolution of it, only thing I do miss though is the manual gearstick, just a classic "gimmick". Totally considering this odyssey as a replacement. Sad how I just realized there was a tailgate mode in the odyssey, that is so convenient and cool!!!

And you can still have a little bit of stuff in the trunk cubby so long as it doesn't stick up too much. The seat goes right over top.

Great video and fun review, but I’m really surprised that you stopped the review at ‘tailgate mode’ and didn’t show that the rear seats collapse back into that deep storage bin to give you a flat surface that opens up more storage. And as someone else mentioned, all three second seats are removable, so if it’s just you and a partner, you can easily turn this thing into one of most easy to drive cargo vans you can imagine. Honda’s Safety suite is also a standard feature on every trim level, so you’ve got all the perks of brake hold, lane departure warnings, adaptive cruise control, lane tracing, etc.

When it comes to reliability and resale value my two picks are Odyssey and Sienna. I like the interior comfort of the odyssey, minus the side vents, so if it at least had a 360 camera option I may be able to do without the AWD. I’m not sure that if I just wait one more year then the odyssey will get one of the two, I can do without the hybrid. Second, despite all the love you show minivans, maybe you can do a follow up video as why you still went with a full size SUV or at least an update on how your experience with the SUV had been. I know you were not crazy about the technology so I would like to know if you’re still have with the purchase.

Ditto. I’ve been waiting two years for an update to the Odyessy because I love the ride, driving experience and practicality of the interior vs the Sienna. I could do without a hybrid but the extra MPGs would be nice. I also kinda want a shorter version too like the pre 2018 Odyessy.

I was of the same mindset, but I think we have to go with the Odyssey. 😢 Kia may have come a long way, but I don't have any doubt that wear on powertrain components will be greater than Honda. That might be okay for the first 10 years due to warranty, but after that, it's probably eventually going to my kids, and we'd rather gamble going with better reputation for the long haul. And then with my luck, they'll redesign the look to more SUV style in a couple years (which all minivans should be probably do anyway). Maybe we'll get the red and do a Lightning McQueen makeover.

I'm currently stuck between a 2024ex Kia Carnival and a used 2022 Honda Odyssey top trim. The only reason I go to Honda is that it is known that its engine and gearbox are much more reliable than Kia and in the market when it is sold, Honda faces a lower price reduction. Comparison between Advise and Carnival for 3 children under 5 years: -Honda's magic slide feature is very useful (which, of course, in the carnival, by removing one of the side seats of the second row, we will have almost the same state as the Odyssey) - The ability to move the seat in the middle of the second row of the carnival forward and backward is very practical and allows you to install 3 seats in a row without any disturbance. This feature is not available in Honda Odyssey. - The interior and exterior design of the carnival is much more modern and beautiful. - The price of Carnival is much cheaper than Honda Odyssey - The entertainment system of the rear passengers in Honda, which is on the roof, is an advantage that Carnival does not have. -Honda doesn't have wireless apple and android, but it has Carnival. What do you think between these two options? carnival ex 2024 and odyssey 2022 touring
